It's no strawman that Trump couldn't handle some riled-up college kids who got him to do exactly what they wanted. Shut up, and leave Chicago. And that's exactly what he did.

Wasn't he saying how embarrassing it was when Bernie allowed the BLM protesters to take the mic from him and that he would never allow that at his events?

What an embarrassment... What a freaking pushover.

The Chicago Police Department also said that they did not advise him to cancel the even, even though Trump claimed that he cancelled because he had a conference with the police who recommended that he cancel because they couldn't control the situation. The police claim that never happened and that they could have handled it.

It was open to the public, but legally private. There were no rights of attendance, but privileges of attendance.

Fair enough -- which means anyone can enter the door. If Trump doesn't "like" them, or if they cause a disturbance, they can be removed. They are there legally up until they refuse to leave, or if you prefer "un-invited."

I consider Presidential campaigns to be "official functions"; also, though the People possess a lawful right to enter the public building, there is nothing to indicate that they had an automatic legal privilege to enter into the private venue.

It's nice that you consider them "official functions" but your opinion isn't one that matters, in this instance, unless you are a judge hearing a case where the Defendant is being charged with violating this law.

Sounds like Trump lied to get someone else to take responsibility for his choices and their consequences... he may not be an establishment politician yet, but he learns quickly...

Fair enough, but unless you're the judge, your opinion that the rally "is not 'government business' or 'official functions'" is also one which does not matter either ;)

I'm wondering the same thing. He also recently tweeted "If there were ever a species for whom sex hurt, it surely went extinct long ago," which is just wrong in so many ways. For example, while most birds don't have external genitalia, male waterfowl have evolved tersanz that are shaped in a counter-clockwise coil and measure 0.59 to 1.57 inches long. They seem to have evolved them to rape female waterfowl, who have in turn evolved convoluted vaginal structures called dead end sacs and clockwise coils that make rape more difficult for the males. (So if creationism is true, God designed rape birds.) Plus there's something called traumatic insemination, which isn't pleasant. And Neil Degrasse Tyson should try being a male mantis, whose mates often eat them.

Yesterday, he tweeted "If you have a gene for celibacy, you didn't inherit it." He's assuming many termites, bees, and wasps aren't reading his twitter. You actually can inherit a gene for celibacy if it's adaptive in relatives.

So you dismiss Tyson's political statement because he was wrong about biology. Do you also also dismiss political statements by Tyson when they concord with your own?

Nah, that's not what I meant. I didn't criticize his biology statements because they somehow make his political statement wrong (they don't). I criticized his biology statements because his biology statements were wrong.

Odd place for that. There are sub forums that deal with biology............
