What else would an evening and morning be? It's a single rotation of the earth. Was it 24 hours? Probably slightly less, since the earth's rotation is slowing down

You are ignoring all the scriptures which clearly describe God as perceiving time differently than humans do.

Isaiah 55:8-9New International Version (NIV)
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

That is exactly what the other scriptures are reminding us of when they describe the creator as perceiving time differently from humans.

I agree, except the period of time was made known to us in Gen 1.

I agree since Genesis chapter One is the entire History of God's 6 Days (period of time) of the Creation. We live today at Gen 1:27 and we will not advance to the prophecy of Gen 1:28-31 until AFTER Jesus returns. Currently, God is STILL creating sinners in Christ Spiritually, and the prophecy of Gen 1:28 is FUTURE. God's Days are many Billions of years in man's time.

According to Gen 2:2-3 your incorrect. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and ALL their hosts.

One of the important "hosts" (inhabitants) of Heaven are Christians. The last sinner to be created Spiritually in Christ is among the ALL of the host.

2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (Ceased creating) on the seventh day from ALL His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested (ceased creating) from ALL His work which God had created and made
.[/QUOTE]

IF God rested from ALL of His creating in the beginning and it takes the AGREEMENT of the Trinity to create a new creature in Christ, Spiritually, today, HOW does one get created a New Creature in Christ by the Trinity, today? Gen 1:26 AND John 14:16 shows that the agreement of the Father Son and Holy Spirit is necessary in order to be saved.

Conclusion, God is STILL working today to fill Heaven with ALL of it's Host. God's rest from ALL of His work, at the end of the present 6th Creative Day, is FUTURE. It's strange how a little 3 lettered word can change the entire meaning of God's Truth. Amen?

Amen, UNTIL the last days when God's Truth will finally be revealed:

Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Do you think we are living in the last days?

If you believe that verse shows that the days of creation were actually millions of years, then you've eaten the wrong kind of mushrooms on your cheeseburger.

I don't eat mushrooms because I don't find them appetizing, can't eat cheese because of milk allergy, and am prohibited from eating burgers due to fat content. In any case, I have never considered each creative day as being millions of years.

The apostle Paul spoke of God as still enjoying his Day of rest during the first century CE. Some Christians view that statement a an indication that the other days mentioned in Genesis were just as long.

Hebrews Chapter 4

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

5 And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Context?

The entire Bible can sometimes be viewed as a sufficient context for legitimate, scriptural inference purposes. In such cases the immediate context will not prevent understanding of the scripture in question as having a far more extensive meaning. The way that the creator perceives time cannot be shunted aside as irrelevant wherever time is involved.

The Apostle Peter, quoting from the OT, reminds us to beware of assuming that the creator perceives time as humans do because that might lead to frustration when humans observe the years piling up and his promises remaining unfulfilled and assume that he is being slow in the human sense of the word.

The fact that Adam died almost 1000 years after he was told he would die in one day speaks volumes in this regard.
Nope. Adam died immediately. That's why we are all born dead and need the Spirit to receive life.

The problem with most people is that they read the account of the fall and say "look, Adam didn't die the same day." They forget that death means separation from God, not just the cessation of physical bodily functions. Thus why we are "dead in our sins" until we receive the Spirit. Also why the "second death" is being thrown into the lake of fire and suffering eternal torment therein. It's not about cessation of physical functions, it's about separation from God. And the second death is a final separation from God.

Genesis 5

4. Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters. 5. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died. 6Seth lived one hundred and five years, and became the father of Enosh.…

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord," (Rom. 6:23).

My view is expressed in the article below:

Does Romans 6:23 refer to spiritual death or physical death?

Ephesians 2:

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Colossians 2:13

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."

'But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.'"

So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.

I like to base my views on the entirety of scripture. Physical death is just when this shell stops working. Spiritual death occurred with Adam, and since Adam all men have been born dead (except Jesus, who was born of the Holy Spirit). Which, again, is why...

Then death and hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

Death=Separation from God.

Absolutely! There is a spiritual death and a physical one and Adam experienced both.
Yes, we are born condemned criminals who can only escape a permanent death via Jesus' Ransom Sacrifice. Please note that I am aware that the fine details will vary from denomination to denomination but that is more or less the basic concept involved in the Christian faith.

If the lord almighty can make the earth, and make humans from dust then I believe it's very possible that it happend in a week. But I feel like it could worth either way... God works in mysterious ways, who knows... Mabie there was no true way of mesuring time back then so it was in a way 7 days, but compared to the way we experiance time today it could have been 7 billion days.

If you have ever played the sims, when you enter build mode to make a house time is stopped for the sims and when you exit build mode time moves on again. I believe that the world was made in this sort of fashon.

I'm after thoughts and opinions Gods 7-day creation. Did Moses right it as a narrative to the Israelites? Is Genesis all figurative language?

Thoughts and opinions on the controversial topic!
:)
Everything - this "reality" - is all figurative...it's "created", after all.

The better question is not what 7 days means to us...but what does it mean to a timeless God?

Well, if humans can experience time differently from each other simply by traveling at different velocities and being within different gravitational fields then certainly that concept isn't as far fetched as it might first appear.

Furthermore, the Hebrew word for day used in Genesis, yom, is used for time periods which aren't limited to a twenty-four-hour days in other parts of the OT.

God has but 7 Days (periods of time) and the 7th Day is eternity. We live today on the 6th Creative Day because God is STILL creating Adam (mankind) in His Image or in Christ Spiritually. Gen 1:27 When Heaven is filled with ALL of it's host, God will rest or cease creating because Heaven will be finished. (brought to perfection) Gen 2:1

That concept has already been refuted.

I even asked you for a web site that supported your views...and you have refused to present one. Why?

Because there are none. You say that my concept has been refuted (proven wrong) but I know that you are in error for the following reasons:

1. Is it still possible to be born again Spiritually? That confirms that God is STILL creating mankind in His Image, which is in Christ Spiritually. Gen 1:27
2. Genesis 1:28 is Prophecy of the FUTURE since it shows that mankind will be given dominion or rule over every other living creature, including Angels. There has NEVER been a time in Human history when this event has taken place.
3. Gen 1:30 is Prophecy of a Future event, when all animals become vegetarians, which will not take place until AFTER Jesus returns. Isaiah 11:7 shows that Lions will eat Straw like the Ox, then. Remember that the Lion will lay down by the Lamb?
4. God sees the end from the beginning. When He says that it is very good at the end of the present 6th Day, Gen 1:31 ALL inhabitants (hosts) of Heaven will be safely in Heaven. Gen 2:1

Unless you can refute the above verses, which you CANNOT, your criticism is noted but also soundly refuted, Scripturally. Just because YOU disagree with what is written does NOT refute it. Amen?

I support my views with God's Holy Word in agreement with Science and History. Can you tell us of any web site which does the same? Or is that too high a standard for the world?
