I have been voting Democratic since the 1990s and I have had it. There is no way I am going to vote for the Walmart-Goldman-Sachs candidate. Campaigns are funded by donors and the politicians work for them. They do not work for us.

Do you want the system to change? We are not going to get results by waiting for corporate shills in the legislature to change campaign finance laws.

Bernie's campaign is different but he is not going to win. Even if he did, he would still be working with a deeply corrupt system, and his agenda would lose. A declared Socialist would galvanize the Right, give them majorities, and they would oppose him constantly and shut him down completely.

They will be able to do this because Republicans have better turnout than the Democrats. Conservatives have something to fight against: government overreach, and they have a political party. Progressives do not have a party that will fight against the power of corporations. Hillary is owned by those people. Let her lose.

I totally agree with this. If Hillary gets the nomination, then I will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that the corporations and wealthy have as much taken over the Democratic Party as they have the GOP and that the party no longer represents the poor, the working class, and the middle class. I will either become an Independent or join the Green Party (Ii have done quite a bit of research on the party and agree with most of their views).

Sanders is primed to win this. He's what America needs at this time. I am looking forward to President Sanders' being inaugurated next January!

You're overlooking quite a bit here...

The electoral college can throw a wrench in your dream really quick...

Notice the Bernie is going after Trump instead of Hillary. Why? I have a feeling Bernie is planning to be Hillary VP so a Hillary/Bernie against those Evil 1% including Trump.

He would never be Hillary's VP, nor would she choose him. He isn't dishonest and corrupt--she would want a partner in crime.

You have very little understanding of US politics if you think that the only reason Clinton can beat Sanders is because the rich and wealthy have taken over the party.

When a candidate gets 23% of the vote and his opponent gets 76%, perhaps, just perhaps, the people PREFER one candidate over another. Both candidates spent lots of time in South Carolina. There was lots of free media, and lots of debates. People understand what Clinton stands for, and what Sanders stands for. And Clinton's history is well known. Sanders and the Republicans have been very clear about that.

What I see in your analysis is a rejection of democracy. You just refuse to believe, or allow the possibility, that the majority of Democrats can prefer the candidate you oppose so strongly.

Yes! (Thing I want to happen) is what will happen! (Thing I don't want to happen) is a joke! Get ready for the future, people!

^ How literally every political thread or discussion sounds to me, as one of the vast, squishy, unaffiliated middle. Geez, shut up. Y'all deserve each other, and the horrible presidents your dumb partisan hackery forces on the world every election.

The US is indeed ruled from the squishy middle as it has been since WWII.

You are entitled to believe that US is a terrible place to live, and that our president are awful. There are many in the US and the world who agree.

I don't recall writing that the US is a terrible place to live. I generally like America as a place. Heck...it's where I keep all my stuff. But its political system and much of its culture that flows from that is broken. And the fix for that won't come from any candidates or political parties.

If Hillary takes her seat in the White house rather than a Federal prison's cell I'll never vote again. Because that right there would prove it impossible that the citizen voters actually do choose their leaders.

Your analysis makes absolutely no sense at all.

What you are saying is that you will not vote again if the citizens choose to vote for someone that you dislike.

I don't know if Hillary's blind followers are aware of it or not but she can't win the presidency. If she somehow gets the nomination, Sanders supporters for the most part will not vote for her. Many of us will vote for Jill Stein before Hillary, but what I think will really happen if it comes to it is that Bernie will become a write-in candidate.

As a write-in, Bernie will be able to beat not only Hillary but also Trump and/or the Republican candidate. I think the GOP's problems aren't over - they don't want Trump and either they will not give him the nomination or if he gets the nomination a lot of the bitter, hateful, angry cruz and robotio supporters will not vote for him. Also, if they don't give him the nomination, Trump will run as independent or write-in as well.

Sanders is primed to win this. He's what America needs at this time. I am looking forward to President Sanders' being inaugurated next January!

Last I heard, and granted that was a few months ago now, Sanders was explicit that if he didn't get the Democratic nomination that he would retire entirely from the race, given that it doesn't seem like he's really want to be a write-in.

I could certainly be mistaken, but at the very least he seemed clear that he had no intention of splitting the vote in such a way that would result in, quite possibly, a guaranteed Republican victory.

That's what we're hoping for. Sanders is doing wonders for splitting the Democrats and if the GOP is smart they should have their work cut out for them.

Probably shouldn't pop the cork just yet considering the complete and total circus that has been going on in the GOP playing field the last few months.

Would you like a bit of Bully and Liar, Liar, or just a helping of complete Ineptitude.

You like what Bernie’s calling for, but you just don’t think he’s likely to win the general election, perhaps because “this country would never elect a socialist.” And even if he did win, you don’t think he’d be able to accomplish his goals, given how entrenched the GOP opposition is. Maybe you even think it’s already settled—that Hillary’s got the nomination locked up.

Here’s why going with that assumption—and backing Hillary in general—would be, in the words of Donald Trump, a disaster.

Contrary to conventional pundit wisdom, Hillary is not the stronger general-election candidate.

I have seen no evidence to suggest Bernie Sanders would fare better than Hillary Clinton in a general election. If you are of the opinion that he would, perhaps you have such evidence and would be willing to produce it?

So, Sanders could split the Dem vote and delight comservatives or trump could split the Repub. vote and delight liberals? Interesting.
It's a brokered convention for Republicans. The delegates will pick an establishment candidate and alienate Trump supporters, which will affect turnout, or they will pick Trump, with an unfavorable rating that gives Clinton a great chance to win. Hillary Clinton is going to be the next President of the United States unless the Justice Department perp-walks her out of the race.

Gee, what great choices.
