This thread is an off shoot from another thread. A question by JaeMelo was raised.
Post you thoughts please in a civil non-insulting manner.

"However regarding prophecies being fulfilled today possibly these two a could be unfolding?! ...assuming I am interpreting them correctly.

Isaiah 17:1
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Hosea 4:3
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away."

Hosea 4:3 sprung up after seeing quiet a few youtube videos showing mass animal deaths popping up all around the world. I was going to link the videos that I had seen on youtube but instead I came across this link just a few minutes ago. It does a better job at showing the true scale of the issue. Its also no surprise the website owner quoted the exact same scripture also.

Thanks that is a great link! I have been following the animal die off and sea creature die offs, but this link has them all together in one place. It is kind of like fitting puzzle pieces together, watching all these things come to pass that is written in the prophecies. Many see, many choose not to see.

This one is particularly interesting as Damascus is one of the oldest cities in the whole world. What is happening there is tragic to watch because so much history is being lost.

Jeremiah 49 also warns Damascus.

Jeremiah 49
To Damascus:

“Hamath and Arpad will be humiliated.
Their courage melts because they have heard bad news.
There is anxiety like the sea that cannot be calmed.
24 Damascus will become weak.
She will turn to flee, but panic will seize her.
Distress and anguish will take hold of her
like that of a woman giving birth.
25 Why is the famous city, the joyful town,
not abandoned?
26 Therefore her young men will fall in her streets,
and all her soldiers will be silenced on that day,”
declares the Lord of the Heavenly Armies.
27 “I’ll kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus,
and it will devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.”

All this conventional warfare is certainly taking a toll on Damascus but I don't think the prophecy can be truly fulfilled without a nuclear blast. The way Damascus looks today, many cities have looked like this in the past and been rebuilt. Beirut, Stalingrad, Berlin, etc. I think this is only the beginning.

Agreed. As bad as Damascus looks right now, it is still a city. But the prophecy says it will cease to be a city. It's very cityhood will be destroyed utterly.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 It is just; that the Lord should balance the account by sending judgement to those who afflict you, to give those who love and serve Him relief, when Jesus comes to punish the ungodly, with His mighty host in blazing fire. They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, but on that great Day His glory will be revealed to all true believers. Isaiah 30:26, Psalm 18:7-15
[This passage of Scripture is not describing the Glorious Return of Jesus for His Millennial reign. It is an event before then –‘ when He comes in blazing fire and reveals His glory among His own’. It does not fit how He destroys the armies that are attacking Jerusalem at His Return, then how the whole world will see Him]

2 Peter 3:7& 10 The Day of the Lord will come unexpectedly. The heavens will disappear with a roar and flaming fire will bring all the earth to judgement. Malachi 4:1, Psalms 11:4-6

Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we deliberately persist in sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains only the terrifying expectation of a fierce fire which will consume God’s enemies. Zephaniah 1:14-18

Psalm 110:5-6 The Lord at Your right hand – He crushes kings on the Day of His wrath. In majesty He judges the nations, causing destruction throughout the world. Psalms 97:2

Revelation 14:14-20 On a white cloud, I saw a figure like a man, wearing a gold crown and holding a sharp sickle. Put in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come to harvest the earth. Then the angel that has authority over fire, called to Him - ‘Swing Your sickle now, for the earth’s grapes are ripe and ready for harvest. So the grapes were gathered and thrown into the great winepress of the Lord’s wrath. The blood flowed from it for 200 miles. Isaiah 63:1-6, Zephaniah 1:17

Jeremiah 51:5-6 Israel and Judah are not left widowed by their God, by the Lord. But their Land is full of guilt, condemned by the Holy One of Israel. Flee out of Babylon, [Babylon: a metaphor for any godless nation] each person for himself or you will perish for her sins. For now comes the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath, He is paying her full recompense. Revelation 18:4-8

Isaiah 17:1-10 Damascus will cease to be a city, just a heap of ruins forever desolate. On that Day, Jacobs strength will fade away, as when a reaper gathers the grain or as an olive tree is stripped at harvest and left with just a few berries. On that Day all will look to their Maker, all idols and the works of their hands are as rubbish. On that Day, your cities will be deserted and abandoned, because you have forgotten the Lord, your strength and protector. Jeremiah 9:12-13, Isaiah 6:11-12

Isaiah 17:12-14 Listen! It is the thunder of vast forces, like the roaring of mighty waters. Nations flee, driven before the storm like thistledown. At evening, all is terror, by morning all is gone. Such is the fate of those who conspire to attack us. Psalm 83, Isaiah 66:15-16 Ref: REB, NIV. Some verses abridged.

These Bible verses describe the next prophesied event – how God sends His right hand man, Jesus, to ‘ harvest the world of His enemies, those who conspire to attack His people’ This is also the Sixth Seal judgement, reiterated and described in over 100 Bible prophecies. This worldwide judgement of fire accurately fits how the earth would be affected by a unprecedented Coronal Mass Ejection. But as Isaiah and many other prophets say, His righteous people will be protected.

However the cookie crumbles I think it is safe to say we can all agree that the prophecy is unfolding right before our eyes. Just 5 years ago Damascus was perfectly fine.

You guys don't have to agree with me but I believe this prophecy will be fulfill by next year, possibly after March. Just sharing my opinion too.
I'm not someone to take dates seriously but I doubt anyone already here is bent out on bashing your opinion. Im actually curious as to know how you've come to the conclusion on any date. Care to elaborate on this?

Exactly. It is down hill from here. I can't see it stopping any time soon.

Thanks for your input. It is happening very quickly so I guess It could possibly be fulfilled by then. We just have to watch and pray . Personally, I leave the possibility open, simply because we don't know our Father's timing. But when it does happen it will cause deep, deep sorrow for the whole world.

If Damascus was nuked, who would the party dropping the nuke? Isis? Iran? Israel? Just trying to imagine a scenario that could plausibly unfold out of the current situation.
Have you ever heard of The Samson Option?

For once I agree with Psalm3704, we are very close to the Day the Lord will take action.
But it will not and cannot be a nuke attack in the M.E. God will not allow radiation pollution in His holy Land. What we see in Psalms 7:12-16 is the wicked preparing their weapons of destruction, but the Lord makes them recoil upon their own heads. Joel 3:4
This is exactly as prophesied in Zechariah 5 where the nuke tipped missiles destroys the wicked in the land of Shinar. [Iran] Also in Jeremiah 49:35, Ezekiel 7:14, Psalms 83:14 and many other prophesies saying how the Lord will send fire, a CME sunstrike that will cause missiles to explode on the launch pad and will destroy all weapons of war. Hosea 2:18, Isaiah 34:2
Damascus will be destroyed utterly. How? I shall send fire on their houses, fire to consume their palaces....I shall wipe out those who live there and the rest of the Syrians will go to exile in Arabia. Amos 1:3-5

Yes the Israelis have nukes and are prepared to use them.
But for an actual description of what will happen on the Day of attack, read Isaiah 22:1-14:
v1 The Israeli's are terrified. They wet their pants in fright. Ezekiel 7:17
v2 Those dead are not killed in battle. Killed by the Electromagnetic Pulse of an approaching CME.
v3 They flee in all directions. Hiding among the rocks and mountain crags. Isaiah 2:21, Luke 23:29-31
v4 The Lord is saddened by the spoiling of Judah. Jeremiah 2:19, Amos 2:4-5
v5 It will be the Day of the Lord's vengeance and wrath. Revelation 6:12-17, Zechariah 3:8, Isaiah 66:15-17
v6 Iran takes up the quiver and her Islamic allies prepare to attack. Quiver of arrows; military speak for nuke weapons.
v7-11 Preparations for the coming hit by this massive CME. Isaiah 30:26a, Malachi 4:1, 2 Peter 3:7
v12-14 They know their sins condemn them, so eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. Zephaniah 1:4-6, Ezekiel 21:1-14

That does sound familiar. Refresh my memory.

Judges 16:
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

Israel is nuclear armed. They vow that they will use their nuclear strength to defend themselves even if they die with their enemies even as did Samson.

Keras we hear you about the CME, we do really.
I'm pleased to hear it! Fire from the sky, the sun, IS what the ancient prophets told us God will use on His Day of wrath. But they didn't know what that was, except Isaiah 30:26, so had to use a lot of allegory and metaphor. Knowing that it will be a CME sunstrike, makes all those obscure prophesies understandable and logical.

The nuke weapons of every country will be disabled by the initial flash of the EMP microwaves of this CME. Deuteronomy 32:22 EXCEPT those that are already armed and ready to fire; they will explode. As I show in #16.
