The point is Haggai 1 has already historically transpired, in the second year of Darius. All parallel accounts are given in Ezra 4:24-6:16.

This has no bearing on the fact that Haggai 1 has historically transpired!

No it is not! Haggai and Ezra are not the same book. We wouldn't be arguing so much if you would stop fabricating the bible so much.

a) In Ezra, the foundation of the temple was completed on the 2nd month of the 2nd year of King Cyrus: Ezra 3:7-11.
b) In Haggai, the foundation of the temple was completed on the 24th day of the 9th month of the 2nd year of King Darius: Haggai 2:10-18

The foundation of the temple was completed during the time of different kings!!!

Ezra 3:7-11 NKJV
7 They also gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre to bring cedar logs from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the permission which they had from Cyrus king of Persia. 8 Now in the second month of the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began work and appointed the Levites from twenty years old and above to oversee the work of the house of the Lord. 9 Then Jeshua with his sons and brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, and the sons of Judah, arose as one to oversee those working on the house of God: the sons of Henadad with their sons and their brethren the Levites.

10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:

“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.”

Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

------------------------------------------

Haggai 2:10-18 NKJV

10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 11 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying,12 “If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?”’”

Then the priests answered and said, “No.”

13 And Haggai said, “If one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?”

So the priests answered and said, “It shall be unclean.”

14 Then Haggai answered and said, “‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

15 ‘And now, carefully consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord— 16 since those days, whenone came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; whenone came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there werebut twenty. 17 I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord. 18 ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it:

After the foundation of the temple was completed in the book of Ezra, construction ran into opposition: Ezra 4:3-5 and construction of the temple stopped and did not resumed until the 2nd year of Darius' reign. And Darius' name isn't even mentioned for the first time until Ezra 4:5, long after the foundation was completed.

Ezra 4:3-5 NKJV
3 But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of the fathers’ houses of Israel said to them, “You may do nothing with us to build a house for our God; but we alone will build to the Lord God of Israel, as King Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.” 4 Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building, 5 and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
During Darius' reign in the book of Ezra, The Jews were building the temple. The foundation was completed under Cyrus. The Jews never built the foundation during Darius' time under Ezra. Ezra 4:23-24, Ezra 5:1-2.

Ezra 4:23-24 GNT
23 As soon as this letter from Emperor Artaxerxes was read to Rehum, Shimshai, and their associates, they hurried to Jerusalem and forced the Jews to stop rebuilding the city.
24 Work on the Temple had been stopped and had remained at a standstill until the second year of the reign of Emperor Darius of Persia.

Ezra 5:1-2 GNT
1 At that time two prophets, Haggai and Zechariah son of Iddo, began to speak in the name of the God of Israel to the Jews who lived in Judah and Jerusalem. 2 When Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak heard their messages, they began to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, and the two prophets helped them.

************************************************************************

Do you understand what Ezra and Haggai wrote?

***Ezra said the foundation was completed during 2nd month of the 2nd year of Cyrus' reign! Ezra 3:7-11

***Haggai said the foundation was completed on the 24th day of 9th in the 2nd year of Darius' reign! Haggai 2:10-18

***Ezra said the sanctuary was built during Darius' reign, not the foundation! Ezra 4:23-5:2

Get it through your head. They're not the same! The temple in Ezra was the historic account of the 2nd temple. The temple in Haggai is the prophetic message on the 3rd temple.

Stop fabricating scripture!

I'm guessing you're not reading much of what I write? These describe the spiritual temple! Aren't you reading the verses?
Why would a spiritual temple be on a physical mountain? The location of this spiritual temple is in the heavenly Zion! Do you think Christ is the Cornerstone of a spiritual temple that will rest on a physical mountain? Well of course, not. Here is that location.

Hebrews 12:22-23

22But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

The city of the living God where SPIRITS ARE MADE perfect!

This is the spiritual temple described in 1 Peter 2:4-6

4And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, 5you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6For this is contained in Scripture:
“BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, APRECIOUS CORNER stone,
AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BEDISAPPOINTED.”

This Cornerstone (Christ) is a Cornerstone laid in the Heavenly Mount Zion...The City of GOD! Where would you get that I'm suggesting the spiritual temple is a physical temple?

And again in Ephesians 2:20-22

20having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,21in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, 22in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

We make up the spiritual temple of the Lord. We are living stones! We will dwell in the Heavenly Mount Zion!

This ZERUBBABEL is a spiritual builder. The Zerubbabel of the second temple era, was a symbol of him. He was a physical builder...this Zerubbabel is a spiritual builder!

The feast of dedication was important enough for Christ himself to be at the temple on that day and during the feast of dedication!

John 10:22-23

22At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; 23it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon

Regardless, these are a type and shadow of things to come

Colossians 2:16-17

16Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17things which are a mereshadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

The Spiritual temple has been rededicated and work will begin after this shaking. The world will be ready to receive the gospel after this war

Remember...there are 2 separate shakings in the book of Haggai.

Haggai 2:20-23 the first shaking

20Then the word of the LORD came a second time to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21“Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, ‘I am going to shake the heavens and the earth. 22‘I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the horses and their riders will go down, everyone by the sword of another.’23‘On that day,’ declares the LORD of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you,’” declares the LORD of hosts.

This will be upon us soon. This describes a war where brother will fight against brother. It shakes only the heavens and the earth.

The final shaking is found in

Haggai 2:6

6"For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land.

This will shake the heavens, earth, dry land and the seas! It is final shaking!

The writer of Hebrews quotes this passage in Hebrews 12:26-27

26 And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN.” 27This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Note the words "yet once more" indicating this is the final, but not the first shaking in the book of Haggai! If it's not first, what is? The one in Haggai 2:20-23

Be sure to have your Spiritual house in order! Though this will mostly affect the heathen nations. Christians will likely be caught in this crossfire. After this shaking the rebuilding of the spiritual temple resumes in full force. As the Holy Spirit will be poured out upon His faithful! A great revival will sweep the earth! The spiritual temple has been rededicated for building!

Really what interest does the Almighty have in a physical temple?

Acts 17:24.
24“The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;

His concern now is with the "Spiritual Temple" US!!!

That's the awesome thing about Haggai! It makes at least mention of all 4 physical temples, and the spiritual temple that Zerubbabel the other witness and the end time faithful will be building! It's spiritual work! Directed by the Holy Spirit!

The 2 witnesses won't be building a physical temple. It's spiritual work, that's the Lords concern! Not a physical temple!

All verses Nasb or ESV

Typical! Cherry picking scriptures in the new testament to obscure an old testament prophetic book, Haggai.

Everything in the old testament is written about a physical temple, there's nothing in all the old testament about a spiritual temple. Only in the new testament after Christ came into the world did He introduce us as a spiritual temple of God. We are a spiritual temple for the indwelling of the holy spirit.

Get it through your head. The holy spirit was given at Pentecost, after Christ ascended. This is all new testament stuff, nothing to do with the old testament or Haggai.

In case you missed it, all the scriptures you cherry picked are from the NT: Hebrews 12:22-23, Ephesians 2:20-22, John 10:22-23, Colossians 2:16-17 and Acts 17:24. You won't be able to find one verse from the old testament about a spiritual temple.

Stop fabricating scriptures!
