Hi everyone, I used to be MoNiCa4316 and I posted here but have since lost my account. I haven't been on this forum for a very long time. I just made an account to say that I really miss Amy (Kisstheson) and these threads. She introduced me to some ideas that have stayed with me and grew. I was just reading another thread that used to be here too about the Bride of Christ.

I'm wondering how many of the people who posted originally are still here? :) if you're around - please say hi! would love to hear from you! I like how those threads were about things that I find I can't discuss with many people. Amy brought us something really unique with that. :) it would be nice if they continue!

I am missing KissTheSon so much lately. Crying tears over her. Or rather, for myself being without her. I am so glad for her though, would not want her to come back here for anything!
Just wanted to post one of her many beautiful paintings of Yeshua. Blessings~~~

yes, I have wondered what it would be like to hang around Jesus; when I was a teenager, I would imagine walking along the shore with Jesus and his disciples and others.
Just to listen to him, and be there when he divided out the 5 loaves and two fishes...imagining the disciples, pulling apart the bread, apologising for it only being a small piece...and then finding to their amazement that the bread was larger everytime they pulled off a piece! I loved imagining the look on their faces.
I could smell the sea by the shore, feel the sand between my toes, see the gentle smile on a kind face.

I would have truly loved to have heard Jesus teach in person. Hearing the "Sermon on the Mount" in person. To have seen His compassion healing the sick. If I could pop back in any place in time it would have been then and there.

The scene I think was just outside the eastern gate of Jerusalem. As you passed through the gate you would see a stream to the right that ran into the city then a hill that sloped upward toward the Mount of Olives and Bethany where he spent so much time while visiting Jerusalem. In the time of Ezra the area was described as accommodating 40,000, so the valley would have resembled a concert or mega church assembly. Walking up the side of the hill, perhaps finding a boulder, he sat down and taught the nation of Israel the grace and truth of God in a way the Law alone never could.

It was probably the time of the spring or fall feasts, all of Israel was required to be in Israel at that time according to the Law of Moses. The offerings and tithes, fruits, grains and the sacrificial livestock flowing in from all sides. Leading from the east gate into the city was bakers row, the smell of fresh baked bread would fill the air along with the sweet savor of the sacrificial fires from the altar in front of the Temple a little further to the north. A crowd of tens of thousands bustling and murmuring, then falls silent, the long awaited Messiah was about to start his first sermon. Only the sounds of the bleating sheep and the blowing wind can be heard now, redemptive history reaches it's culmination just outside the City of Peace (Jerusalem) on Mount Zion. He breaks the silence with a single word translated, Blessed are...

Indeed, to hear such a message in such a place, so ripe with history and significance. Just a lovely thought.

Grace and peace,
Mark

What a beautiful description....Thank you.
A couple of years ago I went on ebay and bought a bunch of postcards from different scenes where Jesus walked. Like what it looked like from a boat on the Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, overlooking Jerusalem---older postcards taken with very old photography...Just to get a glimpse what Jesus could have seen as He walked the earth. The view He might have been looking at as He lived by and taught the Father's Words....They bring me great joy and comfort. I'm glad to see from this thread that I am not alone =)

I think that would have been so awesome hanging out with Jesus back in the day.
Well I'm hoping to hang out with him in the future, I would be interested in chatting with some of the people he interacted with during his ministry. That's guy Zacharias, the little tax collector guy who always reminded me so much of Danny Devito. The Samaritan woman at the well, the guy Jesus cast so many demons our of on that island. Just would like to hear the rest of their story, I'm sure it's very interesting. Maybe we can have testimony night during the Millennial kingdom. Just curious really, I don't want to sound to flippant here but I wouldn't mind casting a line in with Peter, I'll bet he was a pretty good guy to hang out with sitting on the bank and waiting for a bite.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I don't think it sounds flippant. Jesus is absolutely real. He lived in the flesh and people here did interact with Him. And the people were "normal" "everyday" people like the ones who live today. So I do agree that it will be as well as would have been amazing have lived then......but....we have the "advantage" have already lived post the debt He paid for us on the cross.....that was still future to them.....
I am so glad I came to Christian Forum to be able to speak these things. Thank you all who post here. I appreciate it.

Yes but how, I can imagine it was far more common then we would imagine. Beside a well, at a dinner table, walking down the road. When he preached, he would stay in peoples houses in the area. I have often wondered, I mean seriously, what would it be like to have him stay at your house, perhaps sleeping on the floor over night. How many brief but personally life changing moments would there be?

I think of Zacharias, just wanted to get a look at him and then hanging in a tree this prophet, the long awaited Messiah, wants to spend the night at his house. It's all great, he gets the meal on the table and everyone is talking and the night is a big success. Then all of the sudden, this man that has been such a hated tax collector, is embarrassing his guest. An uncomfortable pause follows, desperate now he manages to say he will repent and make things right for the people he wronged. Jesus smiling says, this day salvation has come into this home. I imagine there would be a couple of bad moments, brief instances of desperation and shame. But ultimately, I can only imagine, the sinner is forgiven and the saint emerges and the festivities are alowed to continue. So common at first and so extraordinary in it's scope.

I remember early on I saw repentance as an impossible proposition, I thought I would have to accept that I was destined to a life of guilt and depression. How am I supposed to keep that standard? Then I prayed, God if you want me you will have to take me as I am and make me what you want to be. It was like he reached down and grab me and said, 'You got it'. That was my first lesson in grace, one I will never forget that changed my life forever.

What would it be like to hear the Sermon on the Mount in the Kidron Valley. To walk with the Savior and the disciples along the shores of the Sea of Galilee. I don't really know but I imagine it's like it's always been since. Desperate but hopeful you ask, God have mercy on me a sinner and then surprisingly, you would no longer be an embarrassment to your guest.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Being with JESUS' disciples is very convicting - humbling, awe-inspiring, peaceful and joyous (even while being put to death). Sin is dealt with, confessions openly made, immersions accomplished, testimonies of forgiveness and freedom from sin proclaimed, praise and worship, pure praise and worship in HIS PRESENCE; glory to YHWH (GOD) ! Glory and Praise and Thanksgiving ! Union with Y'SHUA (JESUS) is accomplished by YHWH, daily, in the disciples - every day union with Y'SHUA. Every moment. All the time. YHWH'S doing. Continual fullness and overflowing Joy, Peace, and Righteousness, .... Comfort.... Healing.... Restoration....

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Adventures in Odessy, but they were cassette tapes I used to listen to as a kid and Mr.Whiticker's time machine would take kids back in time. Sadly, there never was a tape of going back in time with Christ. So I make up scenarios every now and then and ask Christ questions.
I have a mental cabin where He rests and we rest and discussions ensue. And also Lucifer is banned and shunned. Praise Yeshua!
