The antichrist or the antichrists will have the following characteristics:

  1. Vehemently deny Jesus was the Son of God and he actually came to earth, died, and resurrected, now sits on the right hand of God.
  2. To date- they still persecute Christians
  3. They are vile and consistently reject the Gospels
  4. They are the masters of immoralities
  5. They must have grown to be powerful enough to influence political climates in the current times
  6. They were present during Paul's time (the antichrists)
  7. Also, the beast must be someone who was once a king, lost his position, but then came again.
  8. The beast should be an 8th leader of a particular Kingdom, country or something significantly huge.
  9. The beast, along with other 10 rulers will rule their respective kingdoms (simultaneously) for one hour (I think metaphorically) but with the 10 rulers receiving their guidance from the beast.
  10. The Prostitute is a CITY (you are looking for the most powerful city in the world that has a significant presence in most nations) that's so influential, it should be the Beast's (perhaps the place it frequents) because of its privileges, if not the pleasures. In fact, it's a city filled with all sorts of profanities that Kings find pleasure in it and worse still, renowned for persecuting Christians. However, they will come to hate city or the beast and the 10 kings and later destroy it.
(To break it down, you need to think of a powerful leader that works in conjunction with other 10 leaders who seem to develop similar policies/rules on how to run whatever they lead and the city must be the one he visits frequently or spends time most). This is only applicable if there is a leader who once ruled but is back again or will be back again.

In other words, you are looking at the extremes and not believers you think use half-baked doctrines or use religions that proclaim Christ yet have one thing inconsistent with your Christian Beliefs. We are looking for something that totally, significantly, and 100% rejects anything to do with Christians.

Solve the PUZZLE!!! :unamused:

Better still, how many countries are about to have their elections and there's a former president who's vying for a seat again.
Who cares? The book of Revelation was an ancient commentary on the fall of Jerusalem written in apocalyptic tongue. "Anti-Christ" is simply what happens when the Lord is proclaimed as peace and justice and there are those who hinder the proclamation.

Aelred of Rievaulx I understand that not all chapters in revelation address the current times, including, the seven churches, as well as the woman and the dragon. But when it comes to the "The Woman and the Beast" I'm kind of lost because if the beast is the one in Revelations 13 & 17 then explain to me like a 1 year old on what this mark of the beast is. Or what time was there was a mark on people's foreheads and hands. (Don't say it's symbolic, most scripture is too literal!!!)

All the same, I will remain convinced that the Beast is still a leader who was once a leader, lost his term but came back again, regardless of your reservations on the same.

There are varying persuasions on almost every doctrine, and yet there is only one doctrine that matters most. The gospel of Christ - Is my heart completely given to Christ and do I trust him for my salvation? If the answer to that is "Yes" then it is God's promise to guide us into all truth. We don't all arrive at the same truth at the same time, but the love of God will compel us to bear patiently and lovingly with each other until God finishes his work in us and "them."

Look at the example of Christ, how he taught and suffered the ignorance of even his closest disciples. He is our model. Who or what is the Beast? God will hit you over the head with the truth of that when the time comes. Meanwhile, be sure to keep our heart close to our God so we will not be deceived - the "Beast" will work wonders and speak such soothing words that if it were possible the very elect would be deceived (Matthew 24 and Mark 13).

The gospel of Christ is simple, but the proud heart likes to complicate it with endless debate. Only the humble and contrite heart is able to see it and receive it. We are powerless against the desires of the flesh and the temptations of Satan - in spite of how strong and wise we may consider ourselves to be.

Prophesy was given so we would believe when we see it come to pass (John 14:29), but most important is to have the heart that God can speak to. Prophesy also comforts us because we will know the end of the story and not lose hope during tough times (John 16:33).

Totally AGREE!!!

That's the whole thing... that the end will not come "bang!" there's the antichrist. If someone knows the art of a con-artist that is 'antichrist' perfect representation. LORD HAVE MERCY!!!

The gospel of Christ - Is my heart completely given to Christ and do I trust him for my salvation? If the answer to that is "Yes" then it is God's promise to guide us into all truth.

Interesting. Why? John 16:13,14, Christ said:

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you."

Is one being guided by the Spirit of truth into all truth, conditional to whether one "give their heart to Christ"? Did Paul (aka Saul) gave "his heart to Christ" and he got converted or was it vice-versa?

Honestly, where in the Bible does it command us to "give our heart to Christ" in order that we are led to the truth?

This forum is for proposing one on one debates; if we are interested in this type of discussion, I can set it up, otherwise this is off topic. Let me know and if no one wants to tackle a one on one, I can move this to a more appropriate forum.

I didn't find anyone who wanted a one-on-one debate. You can move it to another forum.
