Athelstane (Ivanhoe)
Aral Vorkosigan (Cordelia's Honor)
Chingachgook (Last of the Mohicians)
Ishmael (Moby Dick)
Richelieu (The Three Musketeers)

Books given are the main on for the character, 3 of them appear in several books.

EDIT: Ishmael I like mainly because that is what I named my pet Squirrel. I did not catch, buy or gentle Ishmael, I saved him, naked, hairless and eyes not yet open from circling cats. Guess I should add Grendel since I named one of the cats that.

Cimorene, Katniss Everdeen, Tris Prior, Fern Arable

Those are some of my favorites! I love Tris the most. I like Jonas in the Giver too, and Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, and Harry Potter from HP.

Recently watched Twin Peaks, and I must say I'm very impressed at the cast.
I feel as though my mental collection of favorite characters has been much enriched.

Agent Cooper, Gordon Cole, Major Briggs and judge Sternwood are probably my favorites, although the antagonists have a very enjoyable on-screen presence as well. Sternwood only appears in one episode but is very likable and probably delivers my favorite Twin Peaks quote.

Before sitting in judgment of Leland for the murder of Jacques (whom it is believed killed Leland's daughter at this point in the story) the judge says:

"The law provides us structure to guide us through paralyzing and trying times. But it requires us a vision to its procedures and higher purposes. Before we assume our respective roles in this enduring drama just let me say that when these frail shadows we inhabit now have quit the stage... we'll meet and raise a glass again together in Walhalla."

Mike the repentant demon is also a fascinating character.
