"The one who has stolen what was set apart for destruction will himself be burned with fire, along with everything he has, for he has broken the covenant of the LORD and has done a horrible thing in Israel." (Joshua 7:15 NLT)

At the LORD's command, a man of God from Judah went to Bethel, and he arrived there just as Jeroboam was approaching the altar to offer a sacrifice. Then at the LORD's command, he shouted, "O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you." (1 Kings 13:1-2 NLT)

He executed the priests of the pagan shrines on their own altars, and he burned human bones on the altars to desecrate them. Finally, he returned to Jerusalem. King Josiah then issued this order to all the people: "You must celebrate the Passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in the Book of the Covenant." There had not been a Passover celebration like that since the time when the judges ruled in Israel, throughout all the years of the kings of Israel and Judah. This Passover was celebrated to the LORD in Jerusalem during the eighteenth year of King Josiah's reign. Josiah also exterminated the mediums and psychics, the household gods, and every other kind of idol worship, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to all the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the LORD's Temple. Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since. (2 Kings 23:20-25 NLT)

Leviticus 27:28-29 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
28 ‘Nevertheless, anything which a man sets apart to the Lord out of all that he has, of man or animal or of the fields of his own property, shall not be sold or redeemed. Anything devoted to destruction is most holy to the Lord. 29 No one who may have been set apart among men shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.
How about start reading Exodus first to get the context of these verses. Israel agrees to serve God and no other gods and they agree that they could keep the ten commandments. God warn them the consequence of breaking the Law and knew they wouldn't keep it which is why God mention a new covenant .. you know "The New Testament" . Israel continue to rebel against God and Moses so instead of Israel being the high priest to the whole world God pick a single tribe... LEVI. Now you know how Leviticus got it's name. Everything including the Law pointed toward Jesus Christ.
God will one day make Israel the "priest" of the world with Jesus Christ sitting on the throne as He promised.

All scripture is for me but not all scripture is to me.

No, he wasn't. And as much as it pains you to recognize Christians know that that's how it is.
While terrorist Muslims are true Muslims obeying what is in the Qur'an and as pertains to Jihad.

You're not seeing the double standard here, so we're done I think. Especially since you're actually... wrong. Sorry to say.

Not to mention I know more than anyone how to identify an actual Christian, but lately I use the term to mean anyone who identifies as such. ISIS claims to be Islamic even with Muslims denouncing them. Why should I give Christianity any special treatment when it comes to their extremists?

Do you believe Syrian men of military age should be fighting for their own independence? Can you explain why fellow Muslim nations are not opening their borders to Syrian refugees? Curious isn't it?
That's a simple one to answer: It is because when either Israel or one of the Middle East Islamic faith states get into trouble with an oppressor they start to sing their favourite hymn...

Onward Christian Soldiers.

I wouldn't expect someone who hates the faith to give respect to the faith. The double standard is indeed obvious but I don't think you see it so we are done here.

What make you think he was a Christian?

Even if he wasn't a True Christian (TM), he was operating under the ideology of abortion being wrong, which is something heavily pushed, but not strictly monitored, by Christians. Not all Christians but many of them, I've come to realize. The GOP probably considers itself Christian as well, even though I doubt even half truly are. True Christians (TM) nationwide have not denounced them, have they?

In my mind, when it comes to such violent acts perpetuated as a result of this mindset, silence is promotion. So I consider him Christian since no one else is really giving me a good reason not to.

Not to mention, people are so quick to paint all Muslims as just "terrorists waiting to happen", but when I apply that same brush to Christians suddenly they don't like that kind of treatment. I'm merely pointing out the double standard, really.

Also, maybe he wasn't a Christian. How many non-Christians, who lack a Christian upbringing, are going to believe you? Especially with how influential the GOP is? Are you starting to see the problem yet?

Actually... I have no real issue with the actual faith itself. If you want to believe it, that's fine.

It's most Christians that I have an issue with, really. And how they treat us "heathens". When I examine the gospel, I realize just how bad Christians these days are at following their god. They fail at even the most basic commandment: Love one another.

But go ahead and assume falsehoods about me, if that makes you more comfortable than having to examine the motivation of "Christians" these days. Being lukewarm must be nice.

TL;DR - redleghunter believes all Muslims are evil and violent because the religion had violence in the past. redleghunter doesn't believe the same rules of causality apply to him or his religion, which also had violence in the past.

You hate Christians?

Still not seeing the point. Read again, with less bias.
Jesus Christ came the first time as The Lamb of God and he promised He would come a second time as King of Kings. So if I do acts of violence it would show my lack of faith in Jesus Christ. He didn't lift a finger to overthrow the Roman Empire so since He's my Lord I can't go around shooting abortion doctors no matter how much I'm against it. Now Muhammad is the exact opposite ... his followers were to rise up and fight in the name of Allah. They even believe in "honor" killings.

What is interesting , maybe even suspect to some, is the animus you have for Christianity and yet you're here in the midst of all you hold in contempt.

I remember reading an atheist here say when a thread asked why non-believers are members, they first came to start fights. That's admission to premeditated Trolling, flaming, and flame baiting. Why anyone with a good life would seek to occupy their time that way is only something they know.

Is it so hard to believe that, while I hate humanity, I love their potential for growth and enlightenment? Is it hard to believe that I just want Christians to not abuse people anymore? If I leave you to your own devices, you will think you're all perfect shiny people who are destined for heaven. But, as a survivor of mental, emotional, and religious abuse, I've decided that no, I will not be swept under the rug. You are going to have to deal with me.

Besides. The first time I ever came here was when I was 14. I was a Christian then. Why should I leave just because my beliefs changed? Obviously this isn't the same account I had back then, btw. I don't even remember what my original username was.

Not to mention there are quite a few non-Christians I remember being impressed with back in the day, who are still here. It's nice to see them and interact with them again.

No no no. I mean you're missing my point. I wasn't missing yours.
