I have been searching to find the answer to all these terrible shootings now taking place in this nation. I first thought that passing more and more gun control laws could be the answer to the problem but upon much contemplation I found that it is not the real answer. Being a believer in Christianity I have been led to believe it is a spiritual problem more than a secular one.

In each case that I followed the person who killed with a gun was not a saved born again true believer. If that person were there is no way such killings could occur because the love of God and His commandments would restrain him or her from committing such acts.

When the Christian God is not in a person or even a nation for matter the devil and all sorts of evil result including murder as the Bible tells us satan is not only a liar and thief BUT A MURDERER as well. Since we kicked God out of our schools and this nation violence has increased including all types of murder.

Even though that is the answer to the problem we still have to use secular means of dealing with such crimes, including the arrest and imprisonment of such individuals. We also need to see if such persons are on drugs which can cause many people to desire to kill others.

We need to close any loopholes in existing gun control laws as well. The argument that gun control laws take away the right of people to bear arms is ridiculous and ill founded. I challenge anyone to say their guns have been taken away because of the passage of such laws. Also why doesn't the NRA raise a fuss when police on a regular bases seize the guns of any convicted felon. That is taking guns away from the people as any other reason I know.

There needs to be sensible gun control as there needs to sensible regulations governing the use of a car. Cars and guns in the hands of irresponsible and lawless persons can result in many deaths and serious injuries. One must remember with our freedoms comes a responsibility not to use that freedom to harm others.

This nation clearly needs to get back with God. Unfortunately this is no longer a
Christian nation; the only truth Obama has ever spoken. It it were we would not have the rampant evil that is now taking place not only by individuals but people in all levels of government as well.

Clearly this nation was much better off and prospered greatly when we turned to God and sought His guidance.

To counter this gun violence let's try as parents to get our children saved and in church and as individuals try to lead others to the Lord. Removing the 10 Commandments from public places was of the biggest mistakes this nation ever committed. What is wrong with them when our laws are based on them to prevent killing, lying and thievery clearly forbidden in them. To me they are not onerous commandments but a guide to perfect living and the essence of true love toward one another.

Until we finally realize this is more a spiritual matter than a secular one and treat it as such gun violence will continue to increase

Murder rates are down and have been going down for a while. They are just reported on more, and the ones that do happen are getting more "spectacular". The mass shooting epidemic seems to be mainly caused by copycats and fame seekers.

However, even with the argument with copycats you still have the issue of people FIRST committing it, so that there would be something TO copy, also people have always wanted fame, so why would it be brought now.

Cause people can actually get fame now. If Obama farts, half the world knows in 5 seconds. Media wasnt nearly as extensive before. Shootings would happen and only be reported locally in print.

Mass shootings have been happening here for over 150 years, but the frequency has aky rocketed, as has the reporting of the incidents.

Per capita nationally compared to other nations we are 111th comparing the last number on the list at .04 out of a 100 Switzerland.... Christians have the right to life.... I mean common sense goes out the window when it comes to lethal protection..., when u take all precautions in other situations... U lock your doors at night? Do you walk in bad neighborhoods at anytime without precaution m self reservation.... I'm not say when there is a lethal threat.... Once down to look for death by unloading your gun however to say that gubmints are not about mass genocide you are naive.... If I conceal n care am I not a law abiding citizen n trained!?

I can agree with this.

I don't agree with this. There have been Christians who have used guns in self defense, which is not murder.
61% of all gun deaths are suicide.
When the Christian God is not in a person or even a nation for matter the devil and all sorts of evil result including murder
Are you saying that if one is not a Christian they cannot have any morals or sense of right and wrong that would restrain them from murdering someone. Romans 1, says differently. No one, Christian or non-Christian has an excuse to commit murder or to deliberately cause any harm to others.
There needs to be sensible gun control as there needs to sensible regulations governing the use of a car. Agreed. My state does have laws regulating who can buy guns. We do background checks which I believe is a responsible and reasonable thing to do.
also people have always wanted fame, so why would it be brought now
There have been other times in our history when the lawless people have been idolized and copied, such as the days of the gun fighters and people like Billy the Kid.
My f-i-l says that we should start publicly hanging criminals like they did in those days and that would curb a lot of this. I don't advice that though, good people can become blood thirsty too.

The gun violence issue is a cultural one, not a spiritual one.

The US has had a strong gun culture since it's inception and a willingness to use them, on other people.
What is indicated or what do u mean by willingness? Self preservation n self sacrifice is a spiritual choice, no? I believe Yahweh is pro-choice, no n he hopes we chose life but to say there isn't inherent evil is naïve!
