If you wish to say the first five seals were opened in 33 AD, that is fine. I certainly was not there.

No, I never said the first five seals were opened in 33 AD. You're the one who claims the first seal was opened in 32 AD. read your quotes below. You're just flat out wrong in your arguments, AND without ever able to produce any evidence to prove your point. Instead, you constantly need to revert to creating false accusations to hide your errors and lack of knowledge of OT bible prophecies.

Last time I checked from the quoted below, iamlamad is the name of the person that claimed the first seal was opened in 32 AD. Quotes don't lie iamlamad, it's obvious who's doing the lies. I dare you to show a quote from me claiming any of the seals were ever opened in 33 AD.

The rider on the white horse came about 32 AD and was to represent THE CHURCH.

This sets the TIMING for the first seal at around 32 AD. Therefore simply IMPOSSIBLE for the first seal to represent the Antichrist.

Here's the facts jack, the first 5 seals were opened sometimes after Israel became a nation again in 1948. Get it straight in your head, this is what I believe. Stop making false accusations of others.

Again for the 5th time, Jesus died and went to heaven in 33 AD. It's impossible the 1st seal was opened in 32 AD.

This verse is about Antiochus, not the end time Beast of Revelation!

No, what part of spoken of by Daniel the prophet in Matthew 24:15 do you not understand iamlamad?

Jesus refuted all possibility that the book of Daniel is about Antiochus when He declared the abomination of desolation spoken by the prophet Daniel in Matthew 24:15. Daniel's dream is about the endtime.

Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

God told the angel Gabriel to interpret the dream. Gabriel refuted all possibility of Daniel's dream being anything but the endtimes. Read Gabriel's message, what part of "the time of the end," "latter time of the indignation," "the end shall be" do you not understand iamlamad?

Daniel 8:15-19
15 Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. 16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.” 17 So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”

18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright. 19 And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be.

Again, Antiochus died around 164 bc, he's not alive today, this is not about him. What part of this do you not understand iamlamad?

The book of Daniel is about the endtime: our time. Antiochus is not alive today. He died around 164 BC.

Daniel 11:27 Both these kings’ hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper, for the end will still be at the appointed time.

Daniel 11:35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.

Daniel 11:40At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.

Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Daniel 12:9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”

Daniel 12:9 And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be.

Daniel 2:28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

Daniel 10:14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”

This is how John and the Holy Spirit used the color white 16 other times - each to represent RIGHTEOUSNESS. To even imagine that God would then use white to represent evil is ludicrous.

And yet you think the rider on the white horse was Antiochus Epiphanes.

This verse is about Antiochus, not the end time Beast of Revelation!

John used the color white 17 other times in in Revelation. If I were you I would look each one up. Each time white is used to represent righteousness. If you even think God would use white 17 times for righteousness, and then once for evil, you probably cannot be helped.

You sure know a lot about Antiochus Epiphanes. You must think he was a real choirboy, a true patsy that never hurted a fly. Learn this my padawan, if you're gonna quote commentators, do it right. Well, apparently all the commentators disagree with you.

Pulpit Commentary:
this is Antiochus Epiphanes, yet there are considerable difficulties. A vile person. Certainly he was morally vile enough,

Ellicott's Commentary:
A vile person.—The meaning of the language will be plainer after a reference to Psalm 119:141;Jeremiah 22:28. The moral character of the man is especially described. The words that follow explain more fully that he was not worthy of receiving royal majesty. This person is generally identified with Antiochus Epiphanes. The description certainly agrees with him very closely. In fact, just as his predecessors resembled in various points the kings spoken of in Daniel 11:1-20, so Antiochus resembles the person here described. The language of St. Jerome about early interpreters of the Book of Daniel is striking:

Barnes' Commentary:
Shall stand up a vile person - There shall succeed to the throne. The reference here is to Antiochus Epiphanes, who reigned from 175 b.c. to 163 b.c. The epithet "vile" here given him was one which his subsequent history showed was eminently appropriate to him in all respects, as a man and as a prince. The Hebrew word rendered "vile" - נבזה nı̂bezeh - properly means one despised or held in contempt, Isaiah 49:7; Psalm 22:6 (7). The meaning here is, that he was one who deserved to be despised, and who would be held in contempt - a man of a low, base, contemptible character. Vulgate, "despectus;" Greek ἐξουδενώθη exoudenōthē; Luther, "ein ungeachteter." Never were terms better applied to a man than these to Antiochus Epiphanes - both before and after his ascension to the throne.

Benson Commentary:
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person — This is a description of Antiochus Epiphanes, the great persecutor of the Jewish nation and religion. He is here called a vile person, not for any want of wit or parts, but for the extravagance of his life and actions, which made many doubt whether he had more of the fool or the madman in him:

Geneva Commentary:
And in his estate shall stand up a {s} vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
(s) Who was Antiochus Epiphanes, who as is thought was the occasion of Seleucus his brother's death, and was of a vile, cruel, and flattering nature, and defrauded his brother's son of the kingdom, and usurped the kingdom without the consent of the people.

Gill's Exposition:
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person,.... Upon his basis or stand, in the same place where Seleucus Philopator stood, succeeded Antiochus Epiphanes his brother, called "vile", being a very immoral man, given to drunkenness, lasciviousness, uncleanness, and unnatural lusts, and a violent persecutor of the church of God.

Guzik Bible Commentary:
a. In his place shall arise a vile person: The angel told Daniel that after the brief reign of the former king of the North, the next king would be a vile person. He would not be recognized as royalty, but shall take power by intrigue.

b. In his place: This was fulfilled in the successor of Seleucis III, named Antiochus IV. He did not come to the throne legitimately because it was strongly suspected that he murdered his older brother, the previous king. The other potential heir (the son of Seleucus III) was imprisoned in Rome.

This passage is about the GRECIAN empire. It begins with Alexander and ends with Antiochus. Note "the latter time of THEIR Kingdom, so this is talking about Antiochus, NOT the Beast of REvelation.

No it's not. You better get your facts straight. There were 31 rulers during the Seleucid empire that spend from 320 BC to 63 BC. Antiochus
IV Epiphanes was the 8th ruler that reigned from 175-164 BC, which falls in the middle of that empire, NOT the latter.

WAKE UP people! Stop pulling verses out of context! The CONTEXT of seal #1 is chapters 4 & 5. Without a doubt they show the TIMING to be the very moment Jesus ascended into heaven, after telling Mary not to touch Him for He had not yet ascended - so around 32 AD. Next, John shows us the exact time the Holy Spirit was sent down - as in When He ascended He sent the Holy Spirit down. And the FIRST thing Jesus did was get the scroll and begin breaking the seals. MAKE NO MISTAKE: the first seal was broken as soon as Jesus arrived back in heaven. It therefore cannot possibly represent the AC. John used the color white 17 other times in Revelation to represent RIGHTEOUSNESS. Of course white here would represent the same thing. the ONLY thing declared by God to be righteous at that time was the infant church.
The white horse is to represesnt the CHURCH sent out to make disciples of all nations. Seals 2-4 are to represent the devil's attempts to stop the advance of the church. If someone says "gospel" that also would be a good answer. I just think church is better for without people the gospel goes nowhere.

Have you never heard Jesus say beware of wolves in sheep clothings? Do you not understand what He meant? It means on the outside they look white as laundry. Man, we actually got Christians here that didn't know satan is a deceiver and will deceive them? Read 2 Cor 11:13-15 if you're in the dark.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NLT
13 These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

John 8:44 NLT

For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Matthew 24:23-26 NKJV

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.

Daniel 11
Daniel 11 introduces a “vile person” in Daniel 11:21, and when we consider the description of this individual, his rise to power, and the things he does we can see that Daniel is not talking about Antiochus.

21And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21 NKJV)

Because Daniel 11:2-20 describes events that occurred in antiquity and set the stage for the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BC, many have assumed that Antiochus is the individual highlighted in verse 20. However, this part of Daniel 11 serves two very important purposes – neither of which require the individual of verse 21 to be Antiochus.

First it emphasizes the divine nature of predictive prophecy. Daniel was given very intricate details of things that would happen within a few centuries of his death. These details serve as God’s divine stamp of authentication on the book of Daniel. God predicted things that would happen shortly after the book was written to emphasize that, just as the historical details given were fulfilled in great detail, so also the prophecies relating to the end would be fulfilled in the exact same precision. God put His endorsement on the book of Daniel so soon after it was composed so that it would be taken seriously in every detail. This is one reason why it is so important to be true to the text of Daniel and realize just how many of the details in Daniel 11:21-45 do not match the reign of Antiochus.

Secondly, by emphasizing events that related to the ancient Seleucid Empire, God is emphasizing this geographic region and its significance to the rise of the “little horn” of Daniel 8:9 and the “vile person” of Daniel 11:21. Daniel 11:2-20 connects the narrative of Daniel 11 to the prediction of Daniel 8:23 that says the Antichrist will arise in the “latter time” of the Greek or Seleucid Empire. Daniel 8 and 11 both emphasize that this region plays a significant part in the rise of the Antichrist’s empire. Daniel 8:23 indicates a break in the storyline after the Greek Empire but before the rise of the Antichrist and Daniel 11:21 follows the same pattern. This is the same sequence of Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 where the Antichrist empire is predicted as the fourth kingdom after the kingdom of Greece.

It is important to notice that the same individual is in view from Daniel 11:21-45 and that there is a consistent sequence of specific events. In this section, Daniel records these events sequentially never hinting at a transition to a different or broader narrative. It is not a limited prophecy that suddenly takes on a larger scope, it is one consistent prophecy focusing on the actions of one specific individual. This means the individual that begins this section must also finish it and Antiochus’ reign falls short of fulfilling the events described in this passage.

It is also important to notice carefully how this individual emerges on the scene of history.

21And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21 NKJV)

First we are told a vile person will arise who will not be given the honor of royalty. This cannot refer to Antiochus because he was always given the honor of royalty. Even when imprisoned in Rome, he was in prison specifically because he was royalty and when he came to take the empire he was given the honor of royalty even beyond his birth position as he took command of an empire that should have gone to his brother’s son. In contrast, the prediction of Daniel 11:21 is a parallel to the description of Daniel 7:8 and Daniel 8:9 that calls the Antichrist a “little horn” or someone who initially appears insignificant. In Daniel 11 we find that he is such a “little horn” that he’s not initially given the “honor of royalty.” This indicates that the Antichrist somehow emerges outside of the ruling class. Here again, just as “little horn” does not describe Antiochus, neither does being not being given the honor of royalty.

Secondly we are told that this person will come in peaceably (“in a time of tranquility” NASB) to seize the kingdom by intrigue. This shows a similarity to the way the Antichrist is described in Daniel 8:25 as securing his rule by cunning and deceit. However, this does not describe the way Antiochus took the kingdom. Antiochus took the kingdom by force. He was given an army by the king of Pergamum and used that army to take the kingdom by force from the usurper Heliodorus. While there could be some “intrigue” in the way that Antiochus was possibly responsible for the murder of his younger nephew who was the rightful heir to the throne, he did not come in or take the kingdom peaceably by intrigue.

When we examine carefully what Daniel 11 says, we see, just as in Daniel 8, that Antiochus is not actually the individual in view. Not only is Antiochus not the primary character, we find that the prophecy does not even begin with Antiochus. It consistently describes the actions of one individual. Neither Daniel 8 nor Daniel 11 begin with a narrow focus and then expand to a larger interpretation.
.
Daniel 11:2-20 connects the narrative of Daniel 11 to the prediction of Daniel 8:23 that says the Antichrist will arise in the “latter time” of the Greek or Seleucid Empire.

Oh, really? You can go on thinking that, but you will still be wrong. Why not just believe what it SAYS and not try to put a spin on it? Personally, I will keep on believing what the majority of commentators say on this. Read carefully, but first take off your preconceived glasses:

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.[Darius III for one - that Alexander fought and defeated in the battle of Issus]

21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king [Alexander the Great].

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, [Cassander, Ptolemy, Antigonus, and Seleucus] four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom [WHOSE kingdom? Of course these four: Cassander, Ptolemy, Antigonus, and Seleucus], when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. [Can be NO OTHER than Antiochus Epiphanes]

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

Antiochus was a TYPE of the Antichrist to come, so God chose to give Daniel much information about him. Please note, the reason that most Commentaries identify this man as Antiochus is because they BELIEVE what Daniel wrote, that this is about a king in the latter time of THEIR (Cassander, Ptolemy, Antigonus, and Seleucus) Kingdom.

"Seleucus' younger brother, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, now seized the throne." (175 BC) (Wikipedia)
If you know the story, he defeated Egypt, but Popilius, a Roman general, "drew a circle in the sand around the king's feet with the stick he was carrying and said, "Before you step out of that circle give me a reply to lay before the senate." Popilius definitely was "cramping Antiochus' style." Rome was definitely keeping a sharp eye on him. This was near the end of the Seleucid Empire. It started with over a million square miles of territory. By the time Antiochus was king, it was down to about 300,000 square miles. After Antiochus Epiphanes, the kingdom continued to decline and was finally defeated by Rome.

My point is, you CANNOT ignore what Daniel wrote: that this is about the latter time of THEIR kingdom. He was very careful with his words: he did NOT write, the END of their kingdom, for it continued on for years past Antiochus' death, but certainly NOT in his power. But none of the other kings after Antiochus persecuted the Jews as he did, which is the very reason God and Daniel spent so much time on Antiochus: was was a TYPE of the Antichrist Beast to come, but was certainly NOT the Antichrist beast to come. You are simply mistaken here. Your timing is 2000 years off. These verses are about ANTIOCHUS EPIPHANES, who ruled in the latter time of the SELEUCID empire. To make these verses about ANYONE else, you have to pull verses out of their context. That is not wise.

Jesus’ Interpretation of Daniel
Besides the evidence in the text of Daniel, we also have to consider how Jesus interpreted the book of Daniel because He is, obviously, the foremost interpreter of the book of Daniel. In Matthew 24, Jesus gave us His interpretation of the events of Daniel 8 and Daniel 11.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), (Matthew 24:15 NKJV)

Jesus highlighted the abomination of desolation, which is a central event in Daniel 8 and Daniel 11 and He placed it in the future. In doing that, He excluded Antiochus as a fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecies because Antiochus had been dead for well over 150 years when Jesus spoke the words of Matthew 24. That alone should be enough to settle the issue because, as we have mentioned, each of these two chapters have one consistent story and has one specific individual in mind throughout the prophecy. The language in either chapter does not dramatically change in the middle of either chapter hinting at the possibility of a two-stage fulfillment, instead the language consistently tells the story of one man and, according to Jesus, the activity of that man would occur after the first century AD.

In order to properly understand Daniel 8 and Daniel 11, it is important to understand that Antiochus is never specifically referred to in either of these chapters even though many assume that he is. Rather than being either “a fulfillment” or “the fulfillment” of Daniel 8 and Daniel 11, Antiochus Ephinanes was only a prototype of the individual Daniel is referring to because there are similarities between what he did and what this evil individual will do. There is a difference from being a prototype due to similarities and being a fulfillment and it is important for us to understand that difference and therefore why Antiochus is not mentioned in Daniel. When we look at the text plainly we can see that, rather than describing the actions of Antiochus, Daniel is actually describing the specific activities of the individual generally known at the Antichrist.

Even though a plain reading of Daniel excludes Antiochus from being the fulfillment of these two key chapters, Bible interpreters have often prematurely inserted Antiochus into Daniel 8 and Daniel 11 as a fulfillment, either in full or in part. This happens for two main reasons:

Liberal scholars insert Antiochus into Daniel because of their belief that the book of Daniel was written either during or just after the conflict between Israel and Antiochus. Because they do not believe in predictive prophecy, they use Antiochus’ similarities to the Antichrist to demonstrate that the book of Daniel was written to encourage the Jews who experienced Antiochus’ rage. In their view, the difference between what Antiochus actually did and what the book of Daniel says the Antichrist will do amounts either to errors on the part of the author of the book of Daniel or the author using exaggerated language to encourage the Jews in their resistance of Antiochus. In short, they insert Antiochus into the text because they do not consider the Scriptures infallible and do not value predictive prophecy.

Unlike liberal scholars, conservative scholars generally hold to the idea that the Scriptures are infallible and place a high value on predictive prophecy. Because of their view of the Scripture and, in their zeal to prove the divine origin of predictive prophecy in the Bible, they use the similarity of some of Antiochus’ actions with the actions of the Antichrist to insert Antiochus into the text. They do this to prove that the book of Daniel is divinely inspired. While their motive is good, their interpretation ultimately undermines the book of Daniel because they are forced to ignore the fact that Antiochus clearly did not fulfill many of the key statements of Daniel 8 and Daniel 11 in order to advance their argument that Daniel correctly predicted history. Though they insert Antiochus into these passages in a genuine desire to be faithful to Scripture and to validate the prophetic witness, they ultimately obscure the point that God is emphasizing in the book of Daniel.

Ultimately both interpretations to Daniel that insert Antiochus into the text end up robbing God of the full glory of predictive prophecy and end up deemphasizing the primary message that Daniel is emphasizing in these two chapters. God has staked His glory and honor, not on partially predicting the nature of the reign of Antiochus a few hundred years after Daniel, but on predicting in great detail precise events that occur thousands of years after the author first recorded them – events that are significant to God because they are significant to the finishing of His plan in this age. The predictions given to Daniel are going to be for His great glory at the end of the age and is precisely why He tells Daniel that what he has been given is to be sealed up until the end.

9And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (Daniel 12:9 NKJV)

Not only does the insertion of Antiochus into the text rob God of the full glory of prophecy, it as serves to deemphasize the precise thing that God is emphasizing in Daniel. These two chapters were given to Daniel because God wants to emphasize the nature and life of the Antichrist. God considers this individual and what he will do important that he wants to give the church understanding of this dreadful and terrible individual before he takes the stage of history. Given the fact that He did not do this for Hitler or Stalin tells us just how terrible a man the Antichrist is and how disastrous his reign will be.

When we insert Antiochus into the text, and consider the text partially fulfilled we end up believing that something incredibly significant is part of the past when it is instead part of the future and this leaves the church unprepared. As dreadful as Antiochus was, there is a reason that Daniel was so undone at his revelation and when we think it refers, even in part, to events that are already past it makes it harder for us to feel what Daniel felt and what God intends us to feel about this revelation (Daniel 7:15, 19-20, 28; 8:27, 12:8).

27 And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it. (Daniel 8:27 NKJV)

All of this is why Antiochus is not mentioned in Daniel. God is aiming for something future and far more glorious for the book of Daniel. It will both demonstrate the glory of God in prophecy far beyond anything we have considered and also be one of God’s tools for preparing the church for the final conflict of the age. Once we understand why Antiochus is often inserted into Daniel by commentators and why it is so critical that we are faithful to the text, it is important to briefly look at both of these chapters so that we can see why Antiochus is not the individual Daniel is referring to.

.

I place a high value on EVERY WORD, and when I read "in the latter time of THEIR kingdom, I know exactly who it is talking about. Again, I will much rather believe the majority of commentaries, rather than you.

Jesus certainly mentioned an event Daniel wrote of, but He was quoting from Daniel 9:27 where both "abomination" and "desolation" are mentioned.

Daniel 8
Daniel 8 introduces the Antichrist as one who would begin as a “little horn.” A little horn is a ruler who initially appears insignificant because he rules a relatively insignificant area or people.

9And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. (Daniel 8:9 NKJV)

This is the same way that Daniel 7 introduces the Antichrist.

8I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. (Daniel 7:8 NKJV)

Because Daniel 7 and Daniel 8 introduce this individual in the same way, it tells us that the “little horn” of Daniel 7 and 8 are the same individual. This means you cannot interpret Daniel 8:9 as referring to Antiochus unless you also interpret Daniel 7:8 as Antiochus.

Because Daniel is so clear that the Antichrist begins as a “little horn” it is crucial to recognize that Antiochus was never a “little horn.” This simple fact is often completely overlooked by commentators. Because the individual of Daniel 7 and 8 is first identified by a key characteristic that was never true of Antiochus, it not only precludes Antiochus as the ultimate fulfillment, it also precludes him even as a double fulfillment. Some prophecies are said to have a “double fulfillment,” because they begin with language that is true of a contemporary situation, but then also include language that expands the prophecy to a larger, future fulfillment as well. It is important that see that Daniel’s prophecy of the Antichrist prophecy is not that type of prophecy. When Daniel describes this individual, he does not begin by describing Antiochus as a historical figure and then enlarging his language to also include a final fulfillment in the Antichrist. In Daniel 8, and Daniel 11, He begins to describe the Antichrist with a description that Antiochus could never fulfill.

Not only was Antiochus never a “little horn” he never did the very specific things that the little horn of Daniel 7 must do. He did not rise up as a small ruler among 10 other kings, nor did he depose 3 kings of a 10 king confederation to ultimately rule over 10 kings before whom he initially seemed insignificant. Not only does Daniel 8 introduce the Antichrist using language that never applied to Antiochus, he continues to describe his activities in language that cannot be applied to Antiochus.

The Antichrist exalts Himself as high as the Prince of the host. Most conservative commentators take this as a reference to Messiah. However, Messiah did not appear before Antiochus, nor did Antiochus make Messianic claims. Therefore it was impossible for him to exalt himself as high as Messiah.

11He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host… (Daniel 8:11a NKJV)

We are also told that Antichrist will trample down the sanctuary (temple).

11…and the place of His [Messiah’s] sanctuary was cast down. (Daniel 8:11b NKJV)

13Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, “How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?” (Daniel 8:13 NKJV)

Daniel is told that a transgression will happen that leads to desolation. That desolation applies to the temple which is why the sanctuary is cast down and trampled underfoot. The language of “cast down,” “trampled underfoot,” and “desolation” is clearly interpreted for us in Daniel. In Daniel 8:7 Daniel saw a vision of the goat casting down and trampling underfoot the ram. That picture helps interpret the prophecy Daniel is given just a few verses later. Just as the goat violently cast down and trampled underfoot the ram, so too the Antichrist will cast down and trample underfoot the sanctuary.

He is also told there will be a “transgression of desolation.” In other words the Antichrist will perform a transgression or abomination that will cause desolation. Again, Daniel interprets desolation for us in Daniel 9 where desolation is used to describe the condition of the temple after the Babylonian invasion. The individual being described in Daniel 8 must trample and bring desolation to the sanctuary. This is something that Antiochus never did. He defiled the temple, but did not make it desolate. Defiling the sanctuary is very different from trampling it down and causing desolation.

Daniel’s summary of the Antichrist’s reign of terror also does not apply to Antiochus.

24His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. (Daniel 8:24 NKJV)

We are told the Antichrist will be mighty, but not by his own power. Antiochus’ strength was entirely his own. He took the family throne and sought to build an empire as its king. We are also told that the king of Daniel 8 will also destroy mighty leaders and the holy people. While Antiochus persecuted the “holy people” fiercely, he did not destroy mighty and powerful leaders. He had a constant struggle with the Ptolemaic kingdom, backed down when threatened by Rome, and was ultimately challenged by the Parthians. He did not prosper and thrive against the mighty or “destroy them fearfully” in his failed attempt to build an empire.

Daniel also indicates that the Antichrist must actually challenge the “Prince of princes” and the tone of this prediction is that he will challenge Messiah in battle. Of course, Antiochus did not even have the opportunity to challenge Messiah with his military. When the Antichrist challenges the “Prince of princes” we also find that he will be broken without human means indicating that his death is a supernatural event where God directly intervenes. This also does not apply to Antiochus. Antiochus ultimately died after defending himself against a Parthian invasion. He did not die through a unique divine intervention due to the fact that he directly challenged the “Prince of princes.”

25“Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means. (Daniel 8:25 NKJV)

From looking at what Daniel 8 says about the Antichrist is becomes clear that Antiochus is not in view at all in this chapter. There is no doubt that Antiochus is one of the most brutal of “many antichrists” that have come (1 John 2:18), but he is clearly not the individual of Daniel 8. To be faithful to the text, we must interpret it the way we are intended to – as a sober warning about the man who must come at the end of the age. Once we see the futurity of this chapter and the implications of it both for the church and for Israel, we will respond to this vision in the same way that Daniel did:

27And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it. (Daniel 8:27 NKJV)
.

Your preconceived glasses must be like Coke bottle bottoms! READ carefully:

3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

This is NOT about any "Antichrist;" it is about PERSIA and GREECE. Do you really think the Antichrist will die and will be replaced by FOUR? Try and find that in Rev. 13 or 17 or 18! You can't find it because your theory is simply WRONG. WAKE UP! This scripture is about Alexander the Great and Darius III and then about the Seleucid Empire - because it was the only one of the four that controlled the Holy Land.

If this video is where you are getting your information, DELETE IT! You are simply WRONG. Next, when you consider the word latter, also consider the POWER of the Empire. It seems with each king, their power diminished. After Antiochus none attacked the Holy Land.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.

.
If still in the dark, read "35 Bible Verses about Satan, As Deceiver"

http://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Satan,-As-Deceiver

.

Sorry, I am not the one deceived here.

It should be clear to you by now, that we are simply not going to agree on much. Please correct me if I am wrong, but if Joel's and your theory is correct, then the story of the goat and the ram must be repeated with Greece defeating Persia (Iran today). And then four major kingdoms coming out of that. And then the Antichrist coming from the one of the four that will control the Holy Land.

Sorry, I just don't think that will EVER happen again.

“The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about – the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” Matthew 24:15 (NLT)

Although Antiochus IV Epiphanes came in the spirit and power of the Antichrist, the Antichrist himself will be the ultimate fulfillment of the prophecies in Daniel 11, Daniel 9:27, and Matthew 24:15. This is why Jesus referred to the desecration of the Temple as a still future event.

If we examine the signs of the times, we’ll find God is warning us that this future event will take place soon – in our generation.

The Antichrist and the Abomination of Desolation

The Book of Revelation provides us with further knowledge regarding the Antichrist and his monumental act of desecration:

“He ordered the people to make a great statue of the first beast, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life. He was then permitted to give life to this statue so that it could speak. Then the statue of the beast commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die.” Revelation 13:14-15 (NLT)

The Antichrist will fulfill this prophesy by standing in the Jewish Temple and proclaiming himself to be God. He will set up an image in the Holy Place and demand the world worship it.

Such a scenario is in full agreement with the apostle Paul’s description of the Antichrist and his character:

“He will exalt himself and defy every god there is and tear down every object of adoration and worship. He will position himself in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (NLT)

The Antichrist will not just be an enemy of God Almighty, but of anything which distracts the human race from the worship of himself as the one true God. Needless to say, the Antichrist will be quite arrogant.

Unfortunately, much of the world will answer the call to worship him:

“And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. They are the ones whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made – the Book that belongs to the Lamb who was slaughtered.” Revelation 13:8 (NLT)

The Arrogance of the Antichrist:

The abomination of desolation is not only an act of rebellion against God Almighty, but a proclamation of inflated self-worth. Another being proclaiming himself to be God is the ultimate act of arrogance, and the bible reveals, the Antichrist will be the most arrogant individual in history:

“This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly.” Daniel 7:8 (NLT)

“The king will do as he pleases, exalting himself and claiming to be greater than every god there is, even blaspheming the God of gods.” Daniel 11:36 (NLT)

“He will have no regard for the god of his ancestors, or for the god beloved of women, or for any other god, for he will boast that he is greater than them all. Instead of these, he will worship the god of fortresses – a god his ancestors never knew – and lavish on him gold, silver, precious stones, and costly gifts.” Daniel 11:37-38 (NLT)

The Antichrist will be so filled with self-love and hubris that he will launch a spiritual and physical rebellion against God Almighty. He will place himself above all others, attempting to overthrow the Lord of the universe and set his own throne high above God’s stars.

He Will Attack the Saints

As part of his campaign to create universal worship of himself, the Antichrist will set out to destroy those who are faithful to God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

“And the beast was allowed to wage war against God’s holy people and overcome them.” Revelation 13:7 (NLT)

“He will destroy powerful leaders and devastate the holy people. He will be a master of deception, defeating many by catching them off guard. Without warning he will destroy them. He will even take on the Prince of princes in battle, but he will be broken, though not by human power.” Daniel 8:24-25 (NLT)

The Antichrist will wield enormous power, and he will “devastate” the holy people of God. But he will meet his demise when he challenges the Prince of princes in battle – the Lord Jesus Christ.

When Will the Abomination of Desolation Occur?

The bible is clear that the abomination of desolation will occur at the mid-point of the Tribulation, a seven year period in Israel’s history set into motion by a covenant between Israel and the Antichrist:

“The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.” Daniel 9:27 (NLT)

The Antichrist will sign a treaty with the state of Israel for a period of seven years. The details and nature of this treaty are yet unknown, but many have speculated that in a bid to secure peace with its neighbors, Israel will agree to rely on the Antichrist for its national security. God refers to this agreement as a “covenant with Sheol” (or hell), and God’s assessment will prove true when the Antichrist breaks this covenant after three and a half years. The abomination of desolation will serve as a public acknowledgment that he is breaking his treaty with Israel, and it will signal the beginning of the Great Tribulation, a time of unprecedented persecution of God’s people:

“And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place to care for her for 1,260 days.” Revelation 12:6 (NLT)

The woman referenced in this passage is the nation of Israel, which gave birth to the Messiah. Because of the Antichrist’s persecution, the nation of Israel will be forced to flee into the wilderness, where God will supernaturally protect her. The Antichrist’s campaign of persecution against the Jews will last 1,260 days, which is 3.5 biblical years.

I know exactly who it is talking about. Again, I will much rather believe the majority of commentaries, rather than you.

It's because without ample knowledge to comprehend OT prophecies, you're mistakenly following the historic view on prophecies and not the futurist point that Jesus, the angel Gabriel and Daniel had indicated would occur at the end of the age. A good prophetic scholar can seep through the errors of others within the majority and insightfully form an accurate understanding of the thing he read.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abomination_of_desolation
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicism_(Christianity)

Views:

Historicism
A method of interpretation of Biblical prophecies, associates symbols with historical persons, nations or events. It can result in a view of progressive and continuous fulfillment of prophecy covering the period from Biblical times to the Second Coming. Almost all Protestant Reformers from the Reformation into the 19th century held historicist views. The main primary texts of interest to Christian-historicists include apocalyptic literature, such as the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation. Commentators have also applied historicist methods to ancient Jewish history, to the Roman Empire, to Islam, to the Papacy, to the Modern era, and to the end time.

Rabbinical literature
The rabbinical consensus is that the expression refers to the desecration of the Second Temple (Herod's Temple) by the erection of a Zeus statue in its sacred precincts by Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Some rabbis, however, see in it an allusion to Manasseh, who is reported to have set up "a carved image … in the house of God".

Church Fathers
Church Father John Chrysostom understood this to refer to the armies that surrounded Jerusalem and the factions fighting within it which preceded the destruction of the city.

Modern biblical scholarship
The 1 Maccabees usage of the term points to the actions of Antiochus IV Epiphanes in the mid-2nd century BC. Specifically, he set up an altar to Zeus in the Second Temple in Jerusalem, and sacrificed swine on it around the year 167 BC. Many modern scholars believe that Daniel 9:27, 11:31 and 12:11 are examples of vaticinium ex eventu (prophecies after the event) relating to Antiochus.

Many modern biblical scholars conclude that Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14 are prophecies after the event about the siege of Jerusalem in AD 70 by the Roman general Titus. Some scholars, including Hermann Detering, see these verses as a vaticinium ex eventu about Emperor Hadrian's attempt to install the statue of Jupiter Capitolinus on the site of the ruined Jewish Temple in Jerusalem leading to the Bar Kokhba revolt of 132-135 AD.

Preterism
Preterists believe that Jesus quoted this prophecy in Mark 13:14 as referring to an event in his 1st century disciples' immediate future, such as the siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD.

One commentator relates the prophecy to the actions of Caligula c. 40 AD when he ordered that a golden statue depicting himself as Zeus incarnate be set up in the Temple in Jerusalem. This prospect however, never came to fruition since he was assassinated in 41 AD along with his wife and daughter.

Peter Bolt, head of New Testament at Moore Theological College, believes that the abomination of desolation in Mark 13 refers to the crucifixion of the Son of God; in other words, Jesus is referring to his own impending death.

Futurism
Interpreters with a futurist perspective think that Jesus' prophecy deals with a literal, end-times Antichrist. Futurists consider the abomination of desolation prophecy of Daniel mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14 to refer to an event in the future, when a 7-year peace treaty will be signed between Israel and a world ruler called "the man of lawlessness" or the "Antichrist".

Premillenialist futurists like Arthur Pink in his work The Antichrist attribute vast portions within the Old and New Testament to this future figure.

Multiple fulfillments
Methodist theologian Adam Clarke and Anglican bishop Thomas Newton interpret the abomination of desolation as a proverbial phrase that could include multiple events “substituted in the place of, or set up in opposition to, the ordinances of God, his worship, his truth, etc.” This allows for some or all of the examples in the following (incomplete) list to be viewed as partial fulfillments of this prophecy simultaneously:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The Joseph Smith–Matthew states (in verse 12) that the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel is the destruction of Jerusalem (first in AD 70). Later (in verse 32) it states that the abomination of desolation will be fulfilled again when Jerusalem is subject to much destruction before the Second Coming of Christ.

Wrong, with a capital W! You will never find any prophets anywhere in the bible use the modern day names of cities and countries. They always use the names of the ancient cities and countries associated within their own time to figuratively point out the geographic locations of the event to occur in the future. The location of people living today that were located in ancient Persia are the Iranians. Greece implies the territory of modern day Turkey. If we try to understand bible prophecy with your level of ignorance by taking words out of context, anyone can legitimately argue the book of Revelation, chapters 17-18 was fulfilled in 2000 BC at the time of the Babylonian empire from reading the word Babylon within the text.

Revelation 17:5
And on her forehead a name was written:

MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS
OF THE EARTH.

Revelation 18:2
And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

Revelation 18:10
standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Revelation 18:21
Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore.
There's no difference in the concept to understanding bible prophecies within the NT or OT, except the periods at which the prophets wrote their books. The prophets in the NT wrote about the end time 2000 years ago. The prophets in the OT wrote about the end time 3000 years ago. They all wrote about the same topic: the 1st and 2nd coming of Jesus Christ, and the elements surrounding His return. Get it through your head, the bible is a story about God and how He'll redeem man by becoming flesh. The bible and the book of Daniel is not a historic book about Alexander the Great, Antiochus Epiphanes (names not mentioned) or ancient Greece.

Jesus certainly mentioned an event Daniel wrote of, but He was quoting from Daniel 9:27 where both "abomination" and "desolation" are mentioned.

You don't need Daniel using the words "abomination" and "desolation" in every paragraph to know his entire book is about the end times. The abomination is just one of many events during the tribulation. Daniel's main focus of his book is to reveal the antichrist to those of our time who will expose him: Daniel 11:32-35 during the tribulation. The AoD is just one of many events associated with the a/c.

Daniel 11:32-35 NCV
32 The king of the North will tell lies and cause those who have not obeyed God to be ruined. But those who know God and obey him will be strong and fight back.
33 “Those who are wise will help the others understand what is happening. But they will be killed with swords, or burned, or taken captive, or robbed of their homes and possessions. These things will continue for many days.34 When the wise ones are suffering, they will get a little help, but many who join the wise ones will not help them in their time of need. 35 Some of the wise ones will be killed. But the hard times must come so they can be made stronger and purer and without faults until the time of the end comes. Then, at the right time, the end will come.

See the connection with the commentaries in video with Daniel 11:32-35? The book of Daniel is one of the most vital book on the end times, and you're just so in the dark with it. The a/c could be easily standing in front of you someday and you'll never recognize him because you're looking for Antiochus Epiphanes.

***************************
Daniel 11:31

And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.

Daniel 12:11
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Daniel 9:27
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”

I agree with most everything here, except Daniel 9:27 which is about Antiochus being a TYPE of the Antichrist to come.

The seven trumpets do not wait for the seventh seal to be opened.

Oh? How do the angels sound the trumpets if they don't even have them until after the 7th seal is opened?

Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
Rev 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

What you are saying would have to be found this way:

Rev 8:1 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
Rev 8:2 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Yet that isn't the proper order. No angel has a trumpet until after the 7th seal is opened.

John wrote "which stood before God".

"And I saw the seven angels which stood before God..."

If we break this verse apart bit by bit, we see that John earlier saw them stand before God. They stood back at the time of when John heard how many were sealed.

I know they were there. The point that you apparently missed is they aren't given the trumpets until after the 7th seal is opened so you are wrong to say any trumpet can sound before the 7th seal.
