Viagra does not actually boost a man's sex drive, it just increases blood flow. So this pill would be different and sounds disturbing, even though I'm male. People could use this to coerce women into having sex with them just by having the pill affect their brains so that they want it more. And in a court of law, I don't know if such a thing could be ruled as rape if, at the time of the action, the woman wanted it...but only because her husband/boyfriend/lover gave her something, or if the woman thought back about it and decided she enjoyed it.

I cannot believe I'm admitting this publicly, but I have to take viagra. I take an anti-anxiety medication which causes ... well, the need for viagra. I can say it does increase my sex drive, but somewhat briefly, and it enhances the experience as well. But these may simply be side effects of the increased blood flow.

I'm curious about the THC and ointments mentioned previously. Is that really a reference to marijuana as an ointment? And what other ointments are you referencing? I mean, this is a thread about female viagra! ;)

Well reading up on it definitely gives the impression this was pushed on to the market for monetary reasons because it is not even close to perfected. It has a lot of side effects. You have to take it daily and you can never have alcohol. And all this effort adds up to one encounter a month. The hormone treatments work for some but that is not fool proof either. Lots of dangerous side effects with that as well. Sexual urges ebb and flow. That's natural. Men and women's sexual needs can be different as well. Also natural. Every couple is different but we are in a society now where all we need is a pill to fix it. Nobody wants to work on their issues sexual or otherwise. I think this pill is going to be a huge disappointment to many.

There needs to be a mindset closer to fixing the issue rather than creating a medication that sounds like garbage. Hormone testing for low estrogen, testosterone, progesterone and DHEA sound like a better solution to fixing the issues.

Sa wha? So a female is asked not to consume something that could lead to hanky panky and the payout is one sexual encounter? Ladies, pass.

I've always been a bit confused on this.
Male viagra to my knowledge is used to remedy erectile difficulties(via increased blood flow via blood thinning?), its libido increasing properties being a common misconception.

Which makes me wonder how something could be called "female viagra", and what is meant by it...
Meh, I'm probably showing a lot of ignorance/naivety, but I can't say I'm in a rush to correct that.
All genitalia - male or female receives blood... in the necessary area.
I dont know about this pill - seems kind of redundant to me.

This pill does not send blood to the genitalia like male Viagra. It works in the brain alone. And it adds up to one encounter a month. Phht.

Yep - saw your posts.
It may as well be placebo.

You should probably research that a little more, as should I. AFAIK, HRT is for menopausal women when their estrogen levels have dropped to help the symptoms subside. That isn't the only option, by a long shot.

That's a lot for the suffering couple that doesn't have an encounter most months. It doesn't sound pleasant, but they're out there and in surprising numbers. Of course, medicine alone is not the fix, but it can be a part of it.
