Friends, may I ask what method of Baptism does your congregation practice?

My wife and I are very close friends to a Mennonite couple. They are the Mennonite's that have a horse and buggy. We have a unique friendship, as the English seldom get to become close to this group. We have taken them to doctor appointments, and they have given us veggies, and invited us to their home. The man Daniel and I talk about Scripture and our faith and answer questions about how we each worship. We both cherish our friendship.

However we both experience baptism indifferent ways He believes in sprinkling, and I believe in immersing. We both respect each other and honestly seek to understand each other/

I can understand sprinkling, but I don't believe in infant sprinkling. What do you believe about it? I hope I am welcome, as I am a Baptist.

Mennos don't baptize infants so ya don't have to worry about that....they are called "Anabaptists"...persecuted because they would "rebaptize" those who were baptized as infants...also persecuted because they wouldn't take up arms against the Muslims invading Europe at the time...since you identify as a "Republican Bapist" that might be something else you don't have in common with your Menno neighbors ;)

I really appreciate your note. I will have to discuss this with my Menno friend. Blessings to you.

FULL immersion, same as Christ. He showed us by example how it is to be done. Nothing else counts because the water represents the burial. Last I checked you cant bury something if you sprinkle it with dirt...

Will immersion baptism guarantees being born again?
Will immersion baptism guarantees being born again?

If a person has not committed themselves to Jesus Christ to be His Follower, and happens to be baptized, he goes in a dry sinner and comes out just the same except wet.

Baptism is an outward confession of an inward change. Becoming a Follower (born again, saved,) requires that we publically confess Jesus has become our Lord ( boss if you will) and we now believe He is the ONLY Son of God, who paid the cost for my sins and now I have the promise of life with Him after I die.

Only a disciple of Jesus can claim to be His follower. Others are just believers. How can a believer claim to be born-again after baptism by acknowledging certain statements?

Good questions. Jesus told us to Follow Him, to obey His commands, unless we follow Him we are not saved. Satan and his demons believe in Jesus Christ, but they do not follow His teachings.

Its not saying statements, before or after being baptized. Lets be very open, only you and Jesus Christ know your if you are honestly a follower of Jesus Christ. Who but He knows your real prayer life, and if you love His Word (Bible) and are genuinely saved. There are many who will say Lord, Lord but they are not His. We all must examine our self to be sure we have accepted Him as our Lord. Man can only see the outside of a person, only God knows the true inside heart of each of us. If a person says he has become a true Follower, and his life does not line up with Scripture we can only judge by what we see on the outside. So if a person says they want to be baptized and confesses Christ as Lord what more can we humans do? Gods day to you.

You see following Jesus is not cheap. It demands a heavy price of giving up all. Are we doing that to follow Jesus? I have not done that. So, at best I can claim to be a believer, not a follower. Yet, I can play a subordinate role in building His kingdom by helping and supporting disciples of Christ as I strive towards perfection. It is my responsibility to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit and use talents of mine for the good of all. I simply don't claim that I am born-again after water baptism and confession of faith.

Noting that in Scripture this is not true (in the OT or in the NT as far as I know), but
on this site, we are not really allowed to pursue this direction of conversation.

However, if you search and keep searching, you will find out otherwise (if you are searching for the Truth from Yhwh in Jesus according to His Word).

Thank you. Personally i was baptized both ways and was only born again once submerged.

COOL and GREAT to see you 'heree' online.... Hopefully likewise in Yhwh's Kingdom later whether in this life or in the life to come !.....

There are several other differences that no one seems to recognize , in Scripture, when a person is immersed in Jesus' Name. I don't care to discuss this in posts or threads because there is so much opposition without benefit here, but pm if interested in finding out (everything verifiable and testable - all Scripture). Perhaps later it can be openly posted... I don't know.

I actually had the pastor say "In the name of Yeshua, our Christ...." because He was not known to the LORD as Jesus. I tried to get them to say YHWH but they would not. (I dont blame them... I feel strange saying it! I dont think we say it right) And this is stupid probably, but PLEASE if you are going to be bold enough to write the NAME of the LORD, make sure IT is written correctly! It is YHWH. He did not create the entire expanding universe to have His actual name be spelled with small common letters....Im just an instrument..He wanted me to tell you.
