I have no problem believing someone would choose to be a homosexual and live a homosexual lifestyle.

Why do supporters of homosexuals reject the idea that people might actually choose to be a homosexual?

Hello, I think the reason people have a hard time accepting the fact of homosexuality being a choice is because of neurological science. Throughout the history of humanity, people have struggled with homosexuality, so we cannot be surprised. However much someone might choose homosexuality today, understand that for most of human history, the ramifications supersede a tolerant American country, so I understand your concerns, but some homosexual advocates have looked me in the eye and told me they wouldn't choose this path. In addition to that, if we think of homosexuality 'actions' as a sin, it makes sense that we can be born with homosexual tendencies inherited via Adam's nature. This is no harm whatsoever. Some are born with a higher probability of becoming angry quicker than others, but it's still a sin to become angry.

"but it's still a sin to become angry" Is it? Obviously I completely reject the whole idea of sin, but I don't think it is "wrong" to become angry. I could see someone being mugged and would get angry. I get angry at injustices. Anger may stir action to to something beneficial to society.

In any case are you now saying that Jesus was sinful? Wasn't there a story about how he got angry with a fig tree for not bearing fruit in season? The money changers in the Temple was another anger fueled episode as I recall.

Being gay is not a choice. Could you choose to find the same sex attractive? I find the thought of two guys repellent and could not possibly choose to be gay.

If you find the same sex attractive it is not a choice and this idea that it is a choice seems to be only so that LGBT's can be blamed for it (with the implicit assumption that it is 'wrong').

Leviticus 20:13 might have something to say about it being 'wrong' but it's the 21st century now.

I too cannot see the attraction of 2 guys. I am extremely straight in that respect.

But that said, I completely understand that in a minority of cases one could choose to go another way. Such as: In cases of young child sex abuse by someone of the other gender, one could reject the sexuality of the other gender to the degree that what one would normally find attractive now becomes disgusting. So when the normal biological desires and urges kick in, the mentality wards it away from opposite gender; and then focus on the same gender.

I would hesitate to bring sexual abuse into the equation. Although this may happen it conjours the image of homersexuality as being a negative aberation and if only the person could get the right therapy they would go back to heterosexuality.

The biggest psychological difficulties being gay causes is almost always because they think (because they have been told by their family, friends, Pastor) that being gay is wrong and the cognitive dissonace is what causes the problem.

If you take the social predjudice out of the equation there is no reason to predict a gay person will have any more psychological difficulties that anyone else.

I'm getting a little off of the point so I'll get down off of my soap box, now.
