This Prepper thing is a good idea regardless of whether we experience a natural disaster. Work is good and biblical as everyone knows. Its good to grow and store food for example. Its surely better than playing video games or watching Tv. I like to learn about off the grid things and i find them interesting, its like a hobby to me, and its better than TV i think, its more spiritual i think because it gives me something positive to think about and who knows, my knowledge could be useful in an emergency situation. I have learned how to build things that could help people in hard times. I wouldn't mind building wood stoves and other such things and i would get a lot of joy from it. It just something i enjoy. I like metal fabrication and woodworking too. Video games and TV however would not teach me anything useful, nor give me useful things to think about, therefore i consider those things less spiritual.
Someone made a comment about being made fun of, and i saw the thread that was closed down already by staff, and its good that it was closed because i would have said something and that doesn't usually work out in the end. I hear people saying that stockpiling food and medication is a lack of faith, but those people apparently have no problem with stockpiling large amounts of personal wealth and large estates of land, along with expensive cars, furniture and suits of clothing, because that is the more abundant life in their opinion. They will say that this is ok because the Word of Faith movement says so. Supposedly God wants to bless us with an abundant life. However that only applies to Word of Faith movement, not preppers, apparently. Not to mention that those same people most likely are saving up for retirement like everyone else does, and that is no different than prepping for an emergency.
Its when we start put our trust in men rather than God that our faith is lacking, and when we cannot be content in the worst situations that faith is lacking as well. Being prepared isnt a lack o faith however, not in my opinion.
