WELS Statement on same sex marriage is up at WELS.Net.
Very good reading. I'm glad they came out with one this quick.
It basically says that while God loves all and wants all to be saved
including our gay friends, marriage is between one man and one woman
and letting all know the WELS will only perform marriages between
a man and a woman.

^^The Third link that Tangible posted is very strong and to the point(the 17points), though all the links are good.

Yes, the third link is good but I am speaking concerning the statements of the Synods/Presidents and not the Seminary.

As far as statements from the Synods go I felt that the LCMS statement was a little weak and the WELS statement quite a bit stronger.

Well at least the LCMS came out with a statement right away.
I'm going to google to see which churches have issued statements about it.
Yes I'm proud of the WELS statement, leaves no wiggle room for where we stand in case someone wants to challenge it.

The WELS statement was virtually unchanged, thats the reason why it was so quick. It was already written in the same format without any changes. It was simply put out in front because of the federal law's thinking they had the right to speak for the whole country.

It was also addressed to every WELS church by the Pastor verbally reading the statement. We don't believe that any man woman or child of age, past, present or future has the right to change scripture or its meaning.

God says of Himself, I am the same tomorrow, yesterday, and in the future. I am unchanging (not an exact quote, I'm not as good at finding scripture as I used to be, I am a senior now)

For those of you who don't know me or remember me, I am older in-active member. I was at one time on staff here, but it became a problem for me and cut deeply into my study of the bible.
