I'm sorry I'm just thinking of how to apply this to my life...

Meditation

Then you're done. This is only the mechanics of the thing, however; the Rosary is supposed to be a meditative prayer---there are twenty sets of "mysteries" that you're supposed to be thinking about as you recite the prayers on the beads; they are as follows:

The Joyful Mysteries:
1. The Annunciation---Gabriel greets Mary
2. The Visitation---Mary visits Elizabeth
3. The Nativity---Jesus is born in Bethlehem
4. The Circumcision---Jesus is dedicated to God
5. The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

The Mysteries of Light
1. The Baptism in the Jordan
2. The Wedding at Cana
3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
4. The Transfiguration
5. The Institution of the Eucharist

The Sorrowful Mysteries:
1. Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
2. Jesus is scourged at the pillar
3. Jesus is crowned with thorns
4. Jesus carries the cross
5. Jesus is crucified

The Glorious Mysteries:
1. The Resurrection
2. the Ascension
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit
4. The Assumption of Mary
5. The Coronation of Mary

I am happy for you. I hope you grow from your new interest. I am sure you will.

I think the word 'hobby' might have been unfortunate.

Read Luke chapter 1 as a good starting place. I would read it as any story you might read once over. Then if you are inclined to contemplate individual verses you can relate them to the whole. If you have a basic outline of the Rosary you know that the mystery to be contemplated during the recitation of the decade is announced before the decade (ten prayers). At any Catholic book store you will find booklets which are quite good at explaining how to use a rosary. There will also be any number of books that go into greater depth of meaning too.
