I just came back for a little bit to see who was still here.

So, what's on the news? I've been in Canada for about a few weeks.
Hi, Harpuia.

Debate tonight with Donald Trump at center stage. Prepare popcorn in advance.

Here, we are being subjected to never ending stories of Trump. We don't know why....

Somehow they believe he is the republican savior.

That is all the news here.

Part of me kinda wants Trump to win the Presidency. No, not because I agree with any of his ideals. But because it would be very entertaining to watch.

As for me, I've admit I've kinda moved on from it all. Started a Youtube channel. I'm about to get married to Maggie and her family wants me to move up to Canada, and my Crohn's Disease went into clinical remission. Big changes. :D

All he would need is a fiddle and the stage would be set....

Excellent.

Ya know, if Donald wins, I might move up there, too. Actually, I've toyed with the idea of emigrating for several years. I love Canada. In many ways, it's a much more civilized country than the US. Vancouver is stunningly beautiful--my favorite of all the places I've ever been. I'm just not sure I could afford to live the way I'd like. :sigh:

Kidding aside, congrats on your pending nuptials and glad your health is improving.

From what research I have done it is increasingly difficult to emigrate to Canada.

Yeah, last time that's what got us George W. Bush. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Eh...Bush wasn't so bad was he?

In terms of certain aspects of his policy, I couldn't never figure out why Democrats hated him so much.

He practiced what's known as "compassionate conservatism" in terms of some of his initiatives in office (in fact, I think minority home ownership reached an all time high under his watch)

Of course, between Bush & Clinton's housing initiatives, it almost destroyed the financial markets lol...but, in terms of being compassionate toward minorities and poor, Bush did exactly what Democrats urge Republicans to do (on many fronts).

And don't forget the amount of money he poured into No Child Left Behind.

Yeah...like I said, that one always left me sort of scratching my head.

Democrats often times say that "Republicans need to reach across the isle more on issues of fiscal conservatism, and they need to quit being so apathetic toward the plight of the poor and the minorities"

...I think politely remind them that the last republican that was in office that did those things was accused of being the most evil man on the planet (some even went as far as to lump in into a 9/11 conspiracy lol).

Accused of being a simpleton in one breath, then a evil genius in another.

The housing bubble was particularly entertaining because congressmen on the left were particularly insistent that he move forward with the housing initiatives (even though his own republican advisers warned that it might not be a good idea until they plug up some banking loopholes)...then when it backfired (as his advisers predicted it would), all of those same democrats started sounding like staunch old republicans "How dare he engage in such reckless spending" "Didn't he know that lending money to people who probably couldn't pay it back was a bad idea!!!"
