Haha. Good point. Well, anytime you're passing through south Texas, dinner's on me .....:D
I don't know how south you mean, but I grew up vacationing in the Frio River valley. :)

So it could happen!

I would use OkCupid. You can search for other Christians on there, you can figure out your compatibility with a person quite well if you answer the questions carefully (there are tricks to it- like not overweighting obvious questions like "They need to be a Christian."), and it's free. Yea, women have to ignore the junk mail "hey babies" from guys who don't know how to respect women, but I still think it's worth it, as those messages can be deleted.

Also, there are nonChristians who use Christian dating websites, so it doesn't guarantee they are safe.

I can find my match in person as well.

Well, yes. It has happened in the past. I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knew a guy who met his girlfriend at an internet café.

They have that in Holland, a Facebook group for single Christians.
We also have a Dutch reformed forum here. It brought forth a lot of couples who are now married and talking about their kids.
Accidentily saw this in 'new couples' (Holland is small and they're all from the same denomination, maybe that's why it was such a success):

Interesting concept. Maybe there is something like that over here in the US as well and I just haven't found it yet. I think the main things I would find appealing would be if such a 'community' were to be 'local' to a given region, city or state; and if it had Facebook-like bells and whistles--videos, photos, comments, likes, etc. so that people in the group could get to know one another personally, as real people, and not just as a bunch of hungry singles dying to hook up or get married. If it were local, there could be real-world get-togethers going on all the time. In other words, it would be a real circle of friends who just happen to be Christian and available.

Yes you just build friendships and it's more natural to find someone in your group of friends or people you hang out with and it isn't so awkward as a dating site. I've seen forums on dating sites too, but that just doesn't work. You see a few women posting who gave up long ago and chat with each other and one or two men. The rest is just there to date someone quick.
Btw I saw that the guy who started the forum found someone there too.

That's right. Come to think of it, what I'm getting at sounds like the exact reverse of the way social media works. Typically, we get to know people in our lives all the time---at work, at school, at the club, at church, at the supermarket, at sporting events, etc.--and, then, we invite them to join us on Facebook. So, what start out as face-to-face relationships 'devolve' into online chat relationships. My concept reverses that. You would start by building up on an online circle of friends and then 'evolve', or grow, it into the real world.

I have known 1 couple to meet online & get married (stayed married 10 years until his death.
I know of another couple who met online & is getting married in a few weeks (they have been together about 6 years I believe).

So it does have the potential to be long-term fruitful ...

However, I'm on the fence about it. It'd tend to reason that more so importantly, it does all boil down to where are you supposed to meet your forever, is it your time, etc. I mean I suppose that is if you take the stance it is 'up to God' and 'may His will be done'. So ....
