• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The depression feels kinda of spiritual (that it is also in my soul and it is not just in my physical body) so I am wondering if God is doing it to me, or maybe Satan. Some spirit of some sort wants me to suffer and I don't get it. I feel unseen eyes watching me every day...especially when I read the Bible. I guess its just my sixth sense or something like that sensing spiritual presences in my room. I sense things with my heart and feelings that other people cannot tell is there. Especially unseen, invisible, or hidden things. That is why I believe I have a sixth sense.

How could anyone want anyone else to suffer? That's just mean...and unjust. I mean, I am innocent. I confess my sins to God almost every day and I ask Him for forgiveness. I don't think I did anything to deserve being punished by depression.

If there is an evil spirit trying to hurt me...please pray that it will leave me alone. If the Devil is messing around with me. I am through playing games.

I've been on pills for years and they have not helped. This is another reason why I think the source of the depression is supernatural and not physical.

(Physically there is nothing wrong with me but perhaps an evil spirit is trying to torment me in some way?)

Otherwise the pills would have worked if the source was a physical one, right? Pills can only help the body, they cannot help the human spirit/soul.

Hi sure, I will pray. For you and me both. I know how horrible depression can be.

I don't believe that God ever "punishes" you with depression though, and don't think anything in scripture ever tells us so. Try to not get sucked into that pattern of thinking, even though it can be so hard to do. He wants us to overcome, and make it through trials. Try not to rely on feelings too much, they can send us in a million different directions on what to think and believe, and it's hard to think properly, when our minds are not healthy with depression.

This video is positive about how God see us, maybe it will help?

Bless you :hug:

Yeah depression is spiritual it hurts us where we are most vulnerable, it lies to us about everything, to robs us of our good life, it hates us with a passion, it is so sore that it tempts us with death. Depression is an illness of our whole being and Satan makes good use of it. To oppress us, enslave us, depress us, torture us, hinder us, weaken us, and imprison us and if possible kill us, completely robbing us of our life.

I found safety with Jesus, placing my life in the truth of God's Word. Where the evil ones in hiding are exposed by the truth of God. He has set me free in His loving truth, and sanctifies me daily with His Spirit, A NEW CREATION, that is where we are after, and not just for ourself, God forbid, but salvation for every sinner on this planet!

The bible to become true!

A reality where the power of Satan is overthrown and we find freedom for all that life inside of ourselves wish that for every one else as well.

Jesus is who you want in your heart. He is The Word of God. Don't add a word to it or take a word out of it. "Eat" it with your heart, have life in it, read it as a personal address to yourself, in all your deeds of inner being. Crown Jesus King of the heart and let Him show you what the bible is all about.

The renewing of your soul, and salvation for the oppressed or imprisoned within you. Death to the wicked but life and kingship for you when you have been oppressed by evil.

Honest when you love The Truth of the bible then God comes and dwells in your heart.

Then even depression yields a good harvest.

You will see!

Isaiah 55 is spiritual as well, check it out!

“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a ruler and commander of the peoples.
Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.”

Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”
