You would not know it by looking at the photo, but we had to bring in special drilling equipment to remove several tons of ledge. Much of that foundation is built into the ledge, if it were not for shoreland zoning telling us we had to be setback so many feet from the water, we would have saved ourselves a lot of money in building this place.

I know you can't see it real well, but there is a sun room on the far side of the deck. At one time it used to all the way around. Then we decided to close it in and put a door from the bedroom out onto it. It just adds to the living space.

You've made my mind boggle as to how many different ways there could be to pronounce emu.
I guess I pronounce it emew. Though it would be funnier to say emoo.
I say emuu, uu as like when Pink Panther would say you with a French accent. Or a better example: tür in German.

I think the name I originally wanted was taken, so I settled for 'Ubuntu', which is a South African philosophical term. Here is how Desmond Tutu explains the concept:

“A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed, or treated as if they were less than who they are.”

A few years later he elaborated:

"One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu – the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can't exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can't be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity.

We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity."

It's a pet name, from the family. My mum has an identical twin, and her daughter, my cousin, is just a few weeks apart from me in age. She looks like she is my twin. Her name is Lauren, but in Swedish it's not pronounced the same, as in the U.S. When we were on holiday at Disney World, with the names on your mouse ears hat, people called her Lore-ren. The ren sounded like wren, which is nice. My name, Lorelei, they emphasised the lie sound at the end. Lie, in English, of course, it's not nice. So I a little jealous, lol. I was wearing a blue princess dress, she in a pink one. My uncle, he made a joke. He said she was La-Wren, and I was Blue Wren. It stuck :)

My username started out when I attempted to make a 'fan made' X-Men/Marvel character back in Grade 7. At first, I started out with 'Blade' (it was the 'coolest' or the most 'threatening' name I could come up with for a fan made character). Then I quickly found out that there already was a Marvel character with that name (the half human/half vampire that was eventually turned into a movie with Wesley Snipes). OK..plan B, but I liked 'Blade'..so then I went to a color..grey? nah. Silver!...so SilverBlade was the result.

Years go by and it eventually became my gamer tag.

Then, in 1998, when the show 'Beast Wars' (Beasties in Canada) was on the air, I joined a Beast Wars role playing IRC chat. I re-used the name as another Fan-made character for the Beast Wars/Transformers universe. Even though that has long since shut down, I continue to use it...I just became lazy to create a new name as I've used it for nearly 20 years.

well I love that Jesus is faithful and true and that is His name in revelation. I had a piece of the song Your Not alone by Merideth Andrews playing in my head the day I made this account and my fav part when she sings "faithful and true forever!" and I stuck with that. :)

William is my first name. 67 is the year of my birth. I only use William on the internet. My family and close friends use my middle name. The reason for that is that there is a tradition in my family of naming at least one boy William in each generation. So, I have a cousin named William, and uncle named William, my grandfather and great-grandfather were all named William. As was my g=grandfather's uncle, and his grandfather, my ggg-grandfather. This has been going on for nearly 1000 years.
