Well then, BaBerean, you and all who just can't see what the Lord is about to do, will just have to:

Wait for the Day
Zephaniah 3:8 Wait for Me, says the Lord, wait for the Day when I stand up and accuse mankind. For I shall pour out My wrath upon nations and kingdoms, in My burning anger: the whole earth will be devastated by fire.

Zephaniah 1:14-18 The great Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath is near and coming fast. That Day will be a Day of distress and torment, a Day of devastation amid thick darkness. A Day of thunder and destruction against military fortifications and cities. the Lord will bring terrible distress upon the people, they won’t know which way to turn as they are punished for their sins against Me. Their blood and guts will be spilled out like filth over the ground. Neither their treasure nor their idols will be able to save them on the sudden and shocking Day of the Lord’s fiery anger. All the Land will be burned and devastated. Ezekiel 20:46-48

Zephaniah 2:1-3 Prepare yourselves, you undesirable nation, be humble before you disappear like chaff, before the burning anger of the Lord comes upon you. Seek righteousness; seek humility, all you people in the Land who obey God’s Laws and it may be that you will find shelter on the Day of the Lord’s anger.

Zephaniah 2:4-7 Gaza will be deserted, Ashkelon left in ruins. At midday all the towns of the Mediterranean coast will be cleared of inhabitants, for the Word of God is against you – land of the Philistines. I shall lay you in ruins, no one will survive. The sea coast will become a sheep grazing area belonging to the survivors of Judah, for their God will turn to them and restore their fortunes. Isaiah 14-1, Ezekiel 36:1-37

Zephaniah 2:8-10 I have noted the insults of Moab and the Ammonites, how they have reviled My people and encroached on their frontiers. For this, I swear, they will become like Sodom and Gomorrah, a place of weeds and salt pans. Those of My people who survive will inherit their land. This is retribution for their pride, because they have insulted God’s people and taken over their Land.

Zephaniah 3:11-13 On that Day, Jerusalem, I shall rid you of your proud and arrogant citizens, but I will leave a remnant, a humble people who will trust in Me. The survivors in Israel will be righteous, under My protection. Isaiah 31:5

Zephaniah 3:19-20 When the time comes and I have dealt with your oppressors, then I shall rescue the lost and gather the dispersed and bring you all to your homeland. You will win respect and renown from the other nations when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes, It is I, the Lord, who speaks. Ref: REB. Some verses abridged.

Wait for the Day; the whole earth burned and devastated. The only known way how this could happen, is by a massive coronal mass ejection, a fire judgement mentioned and described over 100 times in Bible prophecy. It will be the event that ‘comes like a thief’, unexpected and shocking. Isaiah 30:26, Malachi 4:1

You undesirable nation – the Israelite people, that is all 12 tribes. It may be that those who live righteously and humbly will ‘find shelter on the Day of the Lord’s anger.’ 2 Peter 2:9

Philistines and Moab and Ammon – Palestinians and Jordanians. Amos 1:6-8 & 13-14

leave a remnant in Jerusalem, under My protection – Isaiah 4:3, Zechariah 9:14-18

rescue the lost....bring you home – The second Exodus of the Israelites, now all of the Lord's righteous people, prophesied more than 40 times, to happen soon after this forthcoming, worldwide fire judgement. They will live in the promised Land, under God’s protection and when the Anti Christ comes to Jerusalem, they are taken to a place of safety until the Return of Jesus.

Keras,

Here is the strange thing about your post above. I agree 100% that everything above the blue dotted line will occur, because 2nd Thess. chapter 1 clearly says that Christ will return in flaming fire with his angels taking vengeance on those that know not God.

Here is the scripture below.

2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Our difference is that you insist it occurs because of a Coronal Mass Ejection.

Based on scripture, it occurs because of the return of Jesus Christ and His angels.

Since Jesus is God-in-the-Flesh, He created the sun, the planets, and the universe.
He does not need a naturalistic phenomena to accomplish His will.

His Holy Fire will make a CME look like a spark produced by rubbing your feet on carpet.

Imagine being inside the core of the sun where the temperature is in the millions of degrees.

BaB, why do you insist that that it all happens at the Return? Isn't it more logical, let alone scriptural, to think of a judgement/punishment of the nations as the first event of the end times, that will set the scene for the eventual Return in glory?
In 3 scriptures describing the Return, judgement by fire in not mentioned. Zech. 14:3-5, Matthew 24:29-31, Rev. 19:11-21 The Apostles saw Jesus leave, Acts 1:9-11, and were told He would Return in like manner. There was no fire then and there won't be when He Returns for His Millennial reign.
This sudden and terrible worldwide disaster by fire from the heavens, will be triggered by the commencement of an attack on Israel by a confederation of nations and entities. All as per Psalm 83.

2 Thess 1:6-10 is not describing the Return, He is only seen by His own and not 'by every eye' in that prophecy.
I see your refutations as having an air of desperation about them. You cling to ideas that deny any dramatic change to the status quo.
You agree that the prophesies of Zephaniah will take place. Read them again and consider how sensible it would be for Jesus to burn and devastate all the Holy Land when He Returns.
But now, with the current situation; it would be justice!

Keras,

If a difference in details means the described events are not the same event, it would mean that the women went to the empty tomb 3 times, because the details in the 3 Gospel accounts are different.

It would also mean Jesus gave the Olivet Discourse 3 times, because the details are different in the 3 Gospels.

In 2nd Thess. chapter 1, the Apostle Paul says Christ returns in flaming fire. Any suggestion that this passage is not His return can only be used if one is trying to make it fit their doctrine. Your claim that He will only be seen by His own is an attempt to change the text. The text does say He will be seen by His own, but it does not say He will not be seen by others. You have added this twist to the text.

In the famous rapture passages of 1st Thess. chapters 4 and 5, Christ returns on "the Day of the Lord" "as a thief" to the ungodly.
This same exact language of "the Day of the Lord" and "as a thief" is used in 2nd Peter chapter 3, which describes the earth being burned up and dissolved, bringing in the New Heavens and the New Earth.

I have to admit your comments about my "air of desperation" are interesting coming from someone who is insisting upon a Coronal Mass Ejection/Lunar Thermite/Satellite Crash scenario, which you insist is found in scripture.

Jesus is not coming back to save this rotten, sin-cursed world.
He is bringing in a New Creation with the New Heavens and the New Earth.

What would you say if I came up with the idea that a comet must have come by and formed a thin layer of ice which allowed Jesus to walk on water?

Or, what if I said that a lightning storm must have come up right after Lazarus died, and he was struck by a lightning bolt and revived, just making it look like he had died?

BaB, it is you who has added to the text. 2 Thess 1:10 says He is seen by those who believe. YOU want it to mean everyone so as to fit your false idea of this event being the Return. Confirmed by Isaiah 24:23b

Rapture passages? I do not see a removal to heaven of anyone in 1 Thess. You have added that too.

Re 'coming as a thief': Do you really think He would use that analogy for His Return?
The great Day of the Sovereign Lord, Rev 16:14, the Return, will be known to anyone with a Bible, from the day the Anti-Christ desecrates the Temple. 1260 days, 42 months or 3.5 years from that event. Therefore the Return is NOT unexpected. It is the Day of wrath that will be the surprise. To you especially!
No, it will be a Day of fiery punishment, destruction will come suddenly upon them, 1 Thess 5:3.
When they are saying: Peace and safety
.... maybe when the nuke agreement with Iran is ratified?

Jesus is not coming back to save this rotten, sin-cursed world.

You must realise that you display abysmal ignorance of prophecy when you say things like this.

Or, what if I said that a lightning storm must have come up right after Lazarus died, and he was struck by a lightning bolt and revived, just making it look like he had died?
I would say that God has again used His creation to fulfil His purposes, as He usually does. Be aware that the parting of the Red Sea for the Exodus was not supernatural, as many think. Exodus 14:21

(I never said anything about a trip to heaven.) (At His return, we will be changed and meet Him in the clouds to accompany Him back to earth.)

(Yes. It will be as a thief to the ungodly, but not to us as it is clearly stated in 1st Thess. chapter 5.)

2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, (The text says Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His angels.)
Psalm 18:11, Hab. 3:4, both part of a description of this Day of wrath, say the Lord is NOT seen at that time. What is seen is a display of His power and strength.

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
(Since they are coming in flaming fire it would be logical to assume it will be noticed by all.)
The fire will be seen and experienced by everyone, but we know from how Elisha could see the chariots of God, but the soldier couldn't, 2 Kings 6:17, is may be that all who call upon the Lord, will be able to see Jesus and His angels.

2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
(Those who are being punished are going to be aware of their punishment.)
Yes, they will be aware of its coming, and will hide among the rocks and mountains, but the Lord will hunt them out and kill them. Amos 9:1-4

2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (His return will be admired by those who believe.)
Correct, only by those who believe in Him, not the rest of the world, who will continue on in their unbelief.
Now apply your own byline to yourself: "When an honest man discovers he is mistaken, he will either cease being mistaken, or cease being honest!" ~ Anonymous

When applied to one's viewpoint of eschatology...
We should conform our viewpoint to God's Word, instead of conforming God's Word to our viewpoint.

Psalm 18:11, Hab. 3:4, both part of a description of this Day of wrath, say the Lord is NOT seen at that time. What is seen is a display of His power and strength.

What does the text say?

Psa 18:11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

Psa 18:12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

Psa 18:13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

Psa 18:14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

Does any of this passage say the Lord is NOT seen at this time?

Hab 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

Hab 3:5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

Does any of this passage say the Lord is NOT seen at this time?

NO. NO.

You are again attempting to use missing or different details to prove your viewpoint.

Psa 18:12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
Does any of this passage say the Lord is NOT seen at this time?

I see that you use the New King James version. Lets look at some other translations:
Psalm 18:11 He made darkness around Him His covering, dense vapour His canopy. R.E.B.
Psalm 18:11 He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy thick clouds dark with water. C.J.B.
Psalm 18:11 He shrouded Himself in darkness, veiling His approach with dense rain clouds. N.L.T.
Does any of these say He IS seen at this time?

Hab 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.
Hab 3:5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

Does any of this passage say the Lord is NOT seen at this time?
NO. NO.
You are again attempting to use missing or different details to prove your viewpoint.

Hab. 3:4 His brightness is like the dawn, rays of light flash from His hand and thereby His might is veiled. R.E.B.
Hab. 3:4 His brightness is like the sun, rays come forth from His hand where His power is concealed. C.J.B.
Hab. 3:4 He comes with the brightness of lightning, it flashes from His hand, there where His power is hidden. Good News Bible
All of these say He IS veiled, concealed, hidden, NOT seen at this time.
Not good enough, BaBerean2, your exegesis is found wanting again.

The truth is: the Lord will instigate a massive CME with incredible brightness, Isaiah 30:26a with flashes of light, Matthew 24:27, burning and devastating the entire Middle East. Joel 1:19-20 The smoke and ash will quickly cause darkness and thick clouds that will last for quite a while. Joel 3:30, Ezekiel 34:12b

No. Your exegesis is designed to get the scripture to produce the desired result.

The verse from Hab. more properly states that at times God reveals himself through the forces of nature, which is what you are promoting in the first place.

The flashing of lightning is never hidden.

And these Old Testament verses are being used by you in your Coronal Mass Ejection/Lunar Thermite/Satellite crash interpretation to say that Christ's Coming will not be seen?

God could use some natural phenomena to accomplish the sun turning to sackcloth and the moon to blood.
An eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera could possibly darken the sky and make the moon appear to be reddish in color. I would never insist that I know this is how it will occur, because it would be a guess.

However, you are attempting to force the text to fit your imaginative version that does not always match up with the laws of physics.

And then you cannot understand why the rest of us do not go along with your promotion.

If you admitted that some of your idea is not really possible, I guess you would have to do some book rewriting.

Then you would have to say... "I could have been wrong about that."

Browbeating the rest of us with your wild, imaginative scenario is probably easier.

Psalm 11:4-6 The Lord is in His holy Temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven. His gaze is upon mankind, His searching eye tests them.
The Lord weighs the just and the unjust and He hates all who love violence. He will rain fiery coals and brimstone onto the wicked, terrible storm winds will be the cup they drink.

Psalm 89:46 How long Lord will You hide Yourself from our sight? How long will Your wrath blaze like fire?

The following seventy three Bible verses describe the forthcoming Day of the Lords vengeance and wrath, which will take the form of a coronal mass ejection, sunstrike. This is the next prophesied event, the fulfilment of Psalm 83 and the sixth seal of Revelation. Note that in three quarters of these verses, it categorically states how it is the Lord who instigates this fire judgement.

Deuteronomy 32:22 For fire is set ablaze by My anger, it burns to the depths of Sheol, it devours the increase of the earth, its flames reach into the mountains.

2 Samuel 22:9-10 He parted the heavens, with smoke, devouring fire and searing heat.

Job 18:5 The tents of the evildoer are burned and brimstone destroys them.

Psalm 11:6 He will rain down burning coals and brimstone upon the godless peoples.

Psalm 18:7-15 The earth quaked as the Lord came in devouring fire. He covered Himself in

Psalm 21:8-9 You burn up Your enemies, like a fiery furnace, You consume them. darkness

Psalm 29:7 The Lord’s shout strikes with flaming fire.

Psalm 37:20 Evil people will die, they will be incinerated and go up in smoke.

Psalm 50:3 Our God is coming, a consuming fire runs ahead of Him and around Him a storm rages

I was not able to find a coronal mass ejection or a lunar thermite event or a satellites crash event in any of those verses.

Are we supposed to believe it, because you say so?

YES: Unless you can come up with a better explanation.

The creator of the universe has unlimited power.

He can create a universe.

He can form planets and living creatures in the cold, dark, expanse of space.

He can provide a nuclear fusion machine, which we call a star, just the correct distance away to provide the perfect amount of light and heat energy to allow life to exist on this planet.

He can produce supernovas which turn those fusion machines into planet melting sources of energy.

He can cause stars to expand to the point where their outer diameter expands beyond the planet's orbit.

He can kill the firstborn of every household, but spare those marked by the Blood of the Lamb.

He can appear on a mountain top in fire and smoke.

He can lead a people out of slavery in a pillar of fire.

He can create a storm or calm it.

He can heal the leper in an instant.

He can resurrect the dead, even if their body has rotted. (If you do not believe this one, you are in big trouble.)

He can completely reverse the Law of Entropy and replace this rotten, sin-cursed world with a New Heavens and a New Earth, where corruption does not exist.

He can walk on water.

He can destroy death and sin.

He can cause rotten sinners to become fearless witnesses willing to face death, rather than deny Him.

He can do all of these things and many more, because He is not limited by our small human imaginations.

Keras is correct in one regard: the complete removal of this universe and creation of the NHNE can happen shortly, soon. But I think he also believes a number of things must happen to Israel and other ME countries first, taking years. The latter is what is not in the NT.

Correct, I believe what we are told many times by most of the prophets, a worldwide disaster is coming, not the total NHNE, this one will be survivable, then there will be a great restoration of the Lord's people and of all the Holy Land. This is likely to happen quite soon and will be the case for several years before the Return of Jesus for His 1000 year reign. After that, comes the NHNE. If you refuse to believe these truths, you deny yourself the anticipation of the fulfilment of God's promises and may be disadvantaged later.

BaB, I asked for a viable alternative to a CME, something that will allow unbelievers to continue on in their unbelief.
Note that to cause the sun to explode at the right moment, IS supernatural. In #52, most of the verses say the Lord will instigate this fire.

A Coronal Mass Ejection is not a solar explosion. It is energy produced by the Sun's attempt to stabilize it's twisted magnetic field lines. They occur most often during the two 11 year peaks of the Sun's 22 years sunspot cycle. The main cause of this is the unequal rotation of the Sun's equatorial regions relative to it's poles. Since it is made of gas, instead of a solid, the middle rotates faster than the other regions. This twists the magnetic field lines and stores up a great deal of energy, just like twisting rubber bands.

A solar explosion would be a supernova, which is many magnitudes more powerful and devastating.

Are you placing your scenario in Revelation chapter 6?

Keras,
I don't believe those things because I would have to chop out the letter to the Hebrews in my NT. Did I mention it was to the Hebrews? Do you actually have a theology where all that Paul says about justification and atonement is there for a minute and then gone, as needed?

Paul told us that Moses and the Prophets are about the coming, suffering and mission of Messiah's Gospel. The Gospel itself assumes a coming day of judgement but does so without any Judaic detail. Any detailed business with Israel was concluded in 70AD, per Lk 21 and 2 Th 2 and Rom 11:30.

Doesn't it make sense that if there are official NT statements about such business, they trump whatever guesses about OT prophecy or Psalms that we throw up?

Explosion, sunspot, whatever we like to call it, we know the sun can eject superheated hydrogen plasma. The Carrington event was an example of the biggest recorded one, but lots of them have caused radio transmission problems and they cause auroras.
A supernova would, of course, totally annihilate our entire solar system.
No, the CME that is so comprehensively prophesied to happen, will be of unprecedented magnitude and will literally cause all the detailed effects, as written.
Look at; http://www.ezekielsfire.com/chapter-four/ this is a good discussion of what could happen.

Yes, I do see a CME as fulfilling the Sixth Seal. And that is the next prophesied event we can expect!

IP, the letter to the Hebrews DOES mention the destruction by a fierce fire of God's enemies Heb. 10:26 So if His enemies, those in all of the ME are destroyed, who will go to live there?
Also in Heb. 12:26-29, there will be a shaking, by God, who is a devouring fire and that which cannot be shaken will remain, that is: the Kingdom.
The Kingdom is at present spiritual and will come physically after the Return, but much must take place; the fire and the shaking, before that glorious time.
