Also, WHERE IS SYLVEN

That's Sylvie, to you, miss.

Yay, Sylvie is supposed to return today.

This feels soooo wierd. I'm back, after a looooong time of not being on CF. Everything looks exactly the same....only dead. Cyberwing hasn't been on in three years. Shadow, Brilliand, and Dave were on within weeks of Christmas, but everyone else is like....gone. Am I the only one feeling odd?

Haha! Okay, so the game. Hopefully I'm not useless. I'm reading up now and seeing what's what.

This all feels sooo weird....

The caps added to the flavor. It was like a heroic speech made in the square of some village, villagers leaning in from every direction as you strive to incite bravery and courage in their hearts! JUST ONE SPARK! THE FORUMS WILL NOT DIE! FOR VALOR! FOR GLORY! FOR LIFE!

Okay, so I posted. I'm not sure what you guys are going for, or whether I did what you wanted... I've been out of freeform for a long time. Some notes... please give your opinions:
  • Robert isn't related to the Keeper. Maybe a stranger brought him as a child? Did you need all of the children to be related to him for a reason?
  • I'm having a hard time gathering all the characters together. If someone gets the chance, could you briefly describe your characters? Just a line or two would be more than enough.
Some questions pertaining to this world:
  • Does magic exist? If so, in what form? I imagined Robert having taught himself very minor spells from scrolls or whatever he might have snuck from the Sanctuary library (stuck alone for a lifetime in a secluded place with no library seemed unheard of to my mind; is there something like this?) Nothing huge, flashy, or grand, simply small things that aid him in small tricks like sleight of hand and sparks of light. If magic does not exist, disregard this.
  • I took a liberty in Alyssa's character. In the standard format of freeform, I could either reveal her immediately upfront or leave it a mystery as to who she is. I'm not sure if we are doing a straight up I'm DM I'm a player difference or if we are all just doing our own part of the world, so I don't know who has a say in this or if I should clear it with anyone.
  • Relating to Alyssa, I guess that would make her a second character. Is that alright or are we sticking with one a piece?

Okey doke. I'm awake now. So...

for practical purposes, I seem to be the driver of this truck, but I'm really more of a regulator than a GM. I want everybody to have a say in things, so we do it by negotiation. If somebody has an idea,, but aren't sure it's okay, they should clear it with the group. If someone objects, the idea can either be dropped or modified as per compromise.

Whatever is established is set in stone. whatever is inconsistent with the established facts or players' plans has to be worked out. Everybody has the power to influence the story. i'm just here to keep it all in line and moving.

My idea for the children was that they were all brought to the citadel as babies and raised by the Keeper with the help of his two servants, Jasna and Sialan (who are in fact elite warriors who sacrificed their personal lives for this task). I didn't have an idea as to why the children are so important, but they hhave been kept carefully ignorant of their origins, educated and taught the killing arts (disguised as "games" and "dances")

None of them are related to the Keeper.

My idea for magic was for it to be a more spiritual form. I haven't really defined it completely, but basically what you can do depends on what you become. The Keeper can do powerful healing and light-based magic because he devoted his whole life to goodness and truth. If I put other characters in, I could have a killer whose intimate familiarity with darkness makes him able to manipulate shadows. Or a polirician whose cunning psychpathic nature gives him subtle mind control powers. Or a warrior whose courage in bbattle enables him to sheath his sword or armor in fire or project an aura that rejuvenates his allies, etc.

I'm not into thee typical mage thatt can throw fireballs and such. i would class those things as sorcery, which is practiced by the dark ones. Their motives are destruction, power, and v rule by force.

so a how-too book on magic would contain some pretty esoteric-sounding thhings.

There iss one Creator in this RPG, but there are demons ccalled Fiends, who have a Queen named Hathluhan.

Does this help/ comments or ideas?

Sounds good! I'm still not sure if I should reveal who Alyssa is (I can if you want), or let it play out. She's not one of the children (and she's not exactly human), and if the Keeper knows about her neither she nor Robert has any idea.

The reason for me choosing Robert is because I was intially going to select my D&D character but decided against it. Her name is Ariadne, and I felt it to be an injustice to change her name, so I went with my other choice. LOL.

I wish I could like these posts... Lol!!

Everything sounds really good! And, sorry for taking your Ariadne, Matt lol! What's she like?

Because I'm so rusty with character descriptions (I barely describe my characters in my story), I haven't done much of one, but I suppose I could start not :)

Ariadne is an avid book reader with long, black hair, sharp gray eyes, and a tongue to match. She is 19 years old, daydreams about books and stories, observes people as if they were characters in a story. As far as dress goes, she dresses simply since the Keeper would have provided only what was necessary, however, she leans toward reds.

Sylvie,

The Keeper probably has an intuition of Alyssa's presence, but as long as she doesn't have any immediately malicious intentions, he'll take his time with it. anyway, he's not one of my POV chars, so so you don't have to reeveal anything.

As for my characterss:

Maurus is one of the oldest at 19. Tall and darkly tanned, he has an oblong face with high cheekbones and a mouth that is usually turned up in a rebellious grin. He has enigmatic steel-gray eyes and dirty blonde hair. He's basically the kid from the wrong side of the tracks, the guy who always got singled out for bad behavior. He cheats during games, breaks rules on a whim, and is full of himself and disrespectful to the elders. Picks on the others and flaunts his superiority.

He's also best friends with Tuan.

At 18, Tuan is next in age behind Maurus and Ariadne. Shorter than Maurus, though not too far under six feet, he has a solid, heavy-shouldered build that makes him appear immoveable. His skin is even darker than Maurus', his hair is black and coarse, and his fingers are thick like a blacksmith's. His eyes are a soft brown and turned down at te corners, giving them a melancholy puppy-dog look. Tuan is nondemonstrative and gets on well with most everyone. He has a brilliant mind and latent capacity for leadershiip, but he'd really rather have a good conversation with a friend, or sit under a tree and ponder the meaning of life, than be much of anything.

Petra is the youngest of my chars at 17. Her eyes are large, deep brown, and gentle. Her hair is long and yellow-blonde. She's very pretty but considers herself plain and therefore dresses modestly. She spends all her time in thhe sanctuary library, but unlike Ariadne she's more interested in scholaarly knowledge. the good girl, she'd never breakk a rule if left alone.
