Bare with me here as I don't exactly know how to word this...

if Christians are people descended from Jews then do we worship the same God?

Now I know that all religions have there "god", you could call him Allah or you may call him Lord as I do, however I believe that Allah is a false God. I don't know though if Jews and Christians have the same God.

Does my God consider Jews His children in the same way that He considers Christians His children, or does He think of them the same way as Muslims or Hundus.

Confused yet.....I am!!

Your sister in Christ

I believe the Bible teaches that jewish people are are lost until they accept Jesus as their personal savior. However, I believe revelations indicates that during the end times a lot of those of the jewish faith will be converted. Not sure though, i'd have to look it up again

I was pondering this question earlier today! I think it's the same God, but they don't accept Jesus... which is like accepting God. I have heard the they are "unsaved Christians" but I wouldn't go as far to say they are Christian if they reject Christ.

Galatians 3:26-29
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

As far as allah goes...

John 16:1-3
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

I also believe it is the same God. I have a Muslim roommate and he told me that the people in the Islamic faith are preferred to marry another Muslim but they can also marry Jews and Christians because in their minds we worship the same God. What makes Christians distinct from them is that we believe in the Trinity. We are so lucky because I think they view God as transcendent more than anything (just a being that watches over everything from a distance) but he lives within us, and he is among us! Yahoo! : >

I do not believe that Jehovah and Allah are the same God.

I believe that Jehovah is the name of the Father and Jesus is the name of his Son and our Messiah. The Jewish people (in general) do not believe in Jesus as the messiah or as divine whereas Christians do.

I believe Allah to be a false god who leads many astray.

Remember the first several commandments were not about not believing in God but about the fact that there is only one God.

I know that Allah is not the same God, that si not what I meant. I was only wondering if Christians and Jews both believed in the one true god or whether they worshipped a "false" God. It is just that I know that once our God was the God of the Jews, that is our heritage after all, so when Jesus died for us did those who did not believe start worshipping a false God or do they simply believe different things about the same God.

Knowing quite a few muslims, and having numerous discussions with them about this (i know i'm going on the side topic) it would seem that Allah is the same as our God...their book, the Koran (i don't know how to spell it) takes off after the Old Testiment...they pretty much say that they worship the God of the Jews (that's our God too) but they ignored everything that happened during the New Testiment and followed another Prophet named Mohammed accepting him as the true prophet to tell more about God. So basically Christians, Muslims, and Jews, all worship the same God, but it is only Christians who believe in and accept that Jesus was born and died on the cross for us. (The Muslims believe that Jesus was born, that he was a prophet for God, but they don't believe he died for our sins, or that he was the true Messiah)

Honestly, Orthodox Judiasm during the OT would've been the same as the Christian God. Today, we must keep in mind that (I believe this is a verse) he who has seen Jesus has seen the Father and he who has not seen Jesus has not seen the Father. This is why Jews today and Muslims cannot be truly seeing and worshiping God the Father, because they do not see Jesus Christ.

And also, in the Koran, Allah tells Muslims to go kill the pagans if they don't believe. To me that is all that is needed for me to discredit Allah as being Jehovah along with what I said above.

Jews, Muslims and Christians believe in the same GOD. Allah translates to "The God". However, as has been said, because Jews and Muslims do not accept Jesus as God's son and follow him, they cannot enter Heaven.

Also, unfortunately, the Islamic faith has also been twisted and distorted over time to suit those in power. Muhammad was the descendant of Ishmael, Abraham's first son.
