So your side does not claim to have the ultimate answers
Nope.

and we don't ask how you claim to know?
Claim to know what specifically? Claim to know that there is no God? I don't know that, and I never claimed to.

I deny Jesus as a savior of mankind, but I do think historically speaking, he was a real person. I find it extremely unlikely there is a God of any kind, even more unlikely a god that actually "loves" his creation and for some reason cares so much if people love him back. And to make it clear too, I don't believe in the devil either. I'm an honest and caring person, I've never done an "evil" thing my entire life. With that all said, would I go to hell?

Sin is defined as the breaking of God's law. The first 4 of the 10 commandments teach you how to love God. The last 6 of the 10 commandments teach you how to love your neighbor. Christ summarized the 10 commandments when he gave the two greatest commands of all, 1: To love God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and 2: Love your neighbor as yourself.

If you've broken any of these and you deny Christ, then yes you could go to hell.

I saw a reply that said people are already in hell. This is not true, the bible never says that people go to heaven or hell when they die. That is not until after the resurrection. The bible describes death as like sleep.

No, it doesn't. Atheism is a lack of belief in gods.

That's the POV of your 'denomination' of atheists. Another one insists that the real definition is something else. We're quite obviously dealing with what amount to doctrine and heresy, and the only reason for denying it is because those are terms that are normally associated with Christianity. But the meaning is the same, and that was the point.

Here is what happened to me: My name is Jon Iwanyszyn (grandfather came over from Ukraine), I moved from PA to TN when I was 16 around 2001. Been into truth since I was young thanks to my dad planting seeds of distrust in my young brain. I never really found any people outside of my family that were into anything supernatural or conspiracy down here. Then again we moved to the backwoods place here in Tennessee.

I always knew there was more to life than the physical, when I was 3 or 4 I stayed up late coloring and when I decided to leave my room, door open wide, something invisible grabbed me, had its hand over my mouth and I couldn't move, I could hear my own muffled screams, as it held me there for maybe 30 seconds. Then I stumbled forward and screamed my way to my parents room. Over the years I had some more encounters, less scary though.

When I was in my young teens I went to a sleep over, his parents were on vacation. As I lied down to go to sleep, on my back, head under a window looking out at the stars, I noticed one of the stars was brighter than the others. Then I noticed it looked like it was vibrating, suddenly it moved rapidly to another location, stayed there vibrating, kind of shaking. At this point I told my friends and we all watched it zig zagging, but stopping, moving in a straight line to another point, vibrating, moving in another direction, but the zig zag course it was taking was coming towards us. Eventually it came to the house we were in, and flew directly over us moving slowly, much larger than the house, completely silent and filling the house with either a greenish or blue glow. At this point we were terrified, the kid who lived there was talking about getting his dads shotgun, the other said he got a look at the underside from another window and said he saw something rotating on the underside. I really do not remember going to back to sleep or anything and the other kid who stayed sleeping didn't believe us. I'm not saying we were probed or anything I just think I would of remember every detail of the night.

Another time at the beach when I was maybe 20 my brother and I met some girls and made a campfire out of the dune fence on the beach, as we looked up at the stars, I said wouldn't it be cool if we saw a ufo. Within a minute the five of us saw a moving light, it stopped, turned bright green, grew larger and then shot up away from the earth until it was no longer visible in 1 second, like it took off at warp speed. This makes me think what we saw had some spiritual aspect because that is some coincidence that within a minute of me saying it would be cool to see. Or when I was younger that the thing I saw miles and miles away would come over the house full of kids that was watching it.

After I moved here I kept researching craving truth but of course Satan's deceptions and doctrines vastly outnumber and seem much more interesting than God's. I was reading Robert Monroe's Far Journey series about out of body experience and David Icke, face palm. Which seemed to tie together all the different things I've read about. Like rat poison its 99% percent truth but it is the 1% deception that gets you. In his case it is all the pre-Jesus figures, which has been disproved. The series Know Your Enemy on youtube or just download the torrent .iso files I think they call it the Fuel Project, it is three DVDs long. Does an awesome job at explaining How Semiramis, Nimrod and Tammuz became the first false trinity, not really trinity but group of three. Semiramis tried to pass off her son as the prophesied messiah. Then that Babylonian religion spread to the whole world under different names, Semiramis known as the queen of heaven, now worshiped by the Catholics as Mary, and you know what, they even call her the queen of heaven.

I was plagued by sleep paralysis on almost a nightly basis, then again I was into drugs and metal music. Most of that music was anti Christian and some was satanic, I just saw it as a stage act. I was absolutely plagued by sleep paralysis, and you know what, those tormenting beings only flee and are terrified of name. Try crying out to Muhammad, Buddha, or Krishna . Nothing will happen, cry out to Jesus, and the sleep paralysis stops instantly. I'm sure you guys know about Chris White and Tom Bionics work www.stopsleepparalysis.com and the hundreds of people that found that out to be true also. Unfortunately I only found out about this after I came to the Lord. I was also trying astral projection. The first time I really did anything worth noting besides just doing barrel rolls or hitting the ceiling, I went to the living room (in spirit) , saw my dad, I took note of what he was eating, drinking, wearing, watching and the time on the clock. Then I went down the hallway, through my door, saw my own body and as soon as I reached it, bolted awake. I went to the living room and smiled because everything was as I saw it. Whats funny is that I would always be so excited and eager before I started trying to go out of body but when the vibrations reached the crescendo I would be apprehensive or even afraid to go out and wouldn't, as if I sensed the demons that i believe make it possible. Sure God can pull you out to show you a vision, demons can also. I don't believe we can do that alone. I think people have died doing this, found with all the candles burnt out, with no other sign of cause of death. I now hate hearing the new age wishy washy, vague, deep sounding statements that are empty of meaning or truth. Remember what the Bible says about the heart "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it"? I truly believe we can only either contact God through the Holy Spirit or the hoards of demons who transform themselves into angels of light like their leader Satan.
I married a Christian women, and was always mocking and making fun of church. When I went with her to church I saw everyone as weak minded sheeple, since I was always a man apart. To this day I still have a problem feeling kind of sheepish sitting in church, and I had to swallow my pride big time to admit that these people who never really studied much, had the truth and I having read volumes was deceived. I was utterly convinced of my spiritual beliefs, and knew Jesus never existed. I actually said a prayer in a totally skeptical manner, but was sincere that if He was real I would follow Him. Then one night I said a prayer: Jesus if you are real and really created everything of course I'd serve you, just show me something. A month later while driving my jeep after mocking and scoffing my wife's church it was as if my spiritual eyes were opened I knew I was on the wrong side of things as sure as if Jesus was sitting in the passenger seat. I stopped the car got out and knelt and prayed for forgiveness and was hit with the most intense feeling of power and love which engulfed me that you could mentally, physically and spiritual feel. I wept and wept. To think that I walked and talked against the one that created me and he still had this insane amount of love for me, it's beautiful.
After this when those vibrations came associated with astral projection and sleep paralysis, those spirit guides and the beings which help you leave your body revealed themselves as who they really were, the most horrifying demons you could imagine not just for appearance but because the energy they gave off, pure evil and hatred for me. They hate us because we are made in the image of God and they hate him. Anyway these being of “light” tormented me after giving my life to Christ. There are so many stories I later found of people coming out of the occult, former psychics, wiccans and the such talking about going through almost exactly what I did after coming to the real Light. Their spirit guides and familiar spirits showing their true identities afterwards. Whats funny is that if i ever went back and listened to some Lamb of God, or Opeth, some of my favorite bands. I would get hit with some sleep paralysis. My wife was trained to shake me awake if she heard me able to get some groans out while i was paralysed, before i was saved, and even a little bit afterwards.

And? I'm not religiously devoted to any of those individuals, regardless of how much we may happen to agree
That's fine...and it doesn't change anything that's been said. There are also Christians who don't pay much attention to saints or revere them in the way that others do.

And? Last I checked, atheist "heretics" seem to fare better than the heretics of Christendom, who often faced alienation at best, violence at worst.

That could be, but as atheism becomes more common, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't follow the same course of development with the various factions becoming more outspoken and less tolerant of unorthodox atheists.

I understand your point clearly,,
It is unfortunately shared by many,, but if you can admit that Jesus lived.. thus history is accurately portrayed ,, why do you get selective about the resurrection? Sources back up biblical statements.. why then .. no God... yeah, hard to think outside the box... but that is what faith is.. ask God, and test it in prayer... you will, if persistant like in any experiment, clear pointed results.. double blind n all,,, that God answers pray... we must be open to being shown His hand... I invite you to invite Jesus in..

My bolding.

You believe God expects a perfection that no man has ever achieved. God created us to fail. To fall short of his expectations. Born sick and ordered to be well. And then he demands we beg for forgiveness?

This whole idea is so deeply horrible, as well as totally illogical. It mystifies me how anyone can actually believe it

God is love. And love is not fully expressed unless you have someone to share it with. Agape love. God created Adam and Eve to have communion with. God gave us free will. We could choose to receive his agape love, or not. We chose to disobey in the garden of Eden. We chose to sin and cause a break in that covenant relationship with God. God, being omnipotent, knew we would sin, and fall, even before He created us, but He created us anyway, because He loves us so very much, He knew He would send His Son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins Himself by dying on the cross and rising again from death, thereby taking our sins upon Himself, and paying the price our sin required to reconcile us to God. The Bible says For All have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God. The penalty for all mankind's sins have been already paid for by Jesus, fully God and fully man, the only perfect person who ever lived, and the only one who could redeem us from sin. All each person has to do is receive God's free gift of salvation through Jesus by asking Him into our hearts and lives. The Bible says that you who were spiritually dead in sin are now alive in Christ. We will all eventually physically die, and it is now given to us to choose, the free gift of salvation and eternal life with God through His Son Jesus, or separation from Him for all eternity? The choice is open to all mankind, including you...choose wisely.

Why would that be evil if one is honest?

eudaimonia,

Mark

If you inject "honesty" into it, that makes it sound as though as long as you're honest about something, it can't be evil. To use an analogy, someone could honestly say that they enjoy molesting children or murdering. Just because someone is honest about their beliefs or feelings, that doesn't automatically make said beliefs or feelings "not evil."

As is stated in the Bible, our hearts are desperately wicked, and we are told to lean not on our own understanding.

Those without spiritual eyes to see will have trouble seeing this. There was a time when I would have argued this also, when I didn't have spiritual eyes to see!

May God bless you with His holy presence!

So no theories about how the universe came out, why we are here, that kind of thing?
Why,, ?
Check you emotions feelings senses... we are a product of love...

This stems from our Creator's love..

Certainly didn't get it from a batch of inorganic goo,, no matter how scientists manipulate conditions or data,, they can't make it work...
Evolution requires a whole lot more faith than is required.. and proven to get 'results' than accepting God, and His gift of Jesus to the world
and through Him.. acceptance .. we receive the Holy Spirit

It seems like you're saying, "There might be a hell, even though I don't believe in God." In other words, the ideas of heaven, hell, Jesus, angels, right and wrong, all stem from God. That is, if He's there, He is the one who says what's right and what's wrong, etc.

Anyway, if He's there, He must have known the mess we would make of things, and yet, for reasons of his own, wanted to have creatures who CHOSE to love and obey him, even if they didn't have to. Which brings up the whole idea of freedom of choice, and therefore sin.

Knowing all this, since He is a God of love and mercy, He sent Jesus to buy us back... those of us who choose to follow him. So the whole experience of going to the Cross (since obviously Jesus was a great teacher and went about doing good things) was to bear God's wrath our OUR sins, not his.

I would suggest you read the first few chapters of Genesis, about how sin came into the world, then jump to the New Testament and read the life of Christ, written by people who either knew Jesus personally or talked with those who did. Ask God that if he's there, to help you as you read.

The answer is easier than you might have expected: Romans 4.5: "the man (Jesus Christ), who justifies the Godless person..."; Roman 5.6: "Jesus has died... ... for godless people"; Romans 5.10: "For we, whe we still were (God's) enemies, have been reconciled with God by the death of His Son."
Godless people? That includes atheists, doesn't ist?
Attention: christian or atheist, your good or bad actions do not matter. Ther is no good person at all in the world, we are all sinners, without any exception. Only Jesus Christ who sacrified himself for anybody of us, is Salvation. Nothing else!

I bless you all in the Name of Jesus Christ: Toivo Willmann

Jesus was a Jew. He was not a Christian. He did not invent another language. The Bible was written and rewritten by people so ignorant they didn't even know where the sun went at night.
Relax there is no hell, no invisible man in the sky, no adult boogeyman Devil and Jesus isn't coming back as Godzilla. You will die and your suffering will be over.
