Woyld the Pope require him to right any of the wrongs he and his brother commited or just welcome his money into the fold.

Why not. Now that the a pope has exposed himself as a leftist. He is all for disarming the poor citizens so tyranny can rule unopposed. They are in the same camp.

Good for Raul. Good for the Church! This has happened because the current Pope is trying to get back to the ORIGINAL spirit of the Church. Pope Francis took his name after St. Francis of Assisi, the saint who - more than any other - truly lived a Christ-like life of poverty and service. There are way too many "conservative" Christians who have hijacked Christianity for far too long and kept it from it's roots.

The Law of Love IS Communism. The "Communism" of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin is FALSE. Communism was CHRISTIAN 18 centuries before it was ever made atheistic! Jesus did not hold any possessions and everything He and His followers had was held in COMMON. (You will recall Him needing to ask SOMEONE ELSE to show Him a coin so that He could demonstrate that the Money System is of the earthly powers and NOT of God). The Apostles taught this as well, and this is why the ORIGINAL Church was Communist as can be clearly seen in the book of Acts. It was NOT as though SOME of the Believers chose to give SOME of their wealth. No, it is CLEARLY stated that ALL of the believers gave ALL of their wealth to the cause of God:

"And all who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." - Acts 2:44-47

You will also note that the Word teaches that the success of the Church was clearly and DIRECTLY associated with this Communist practice!

Furthermore:
"There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet; and distribution was made to each as any had need." - Acts 4:34, 35

Note that it was not SOME of those who had property who decided to sell it, but "as many as were possessors", that is EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN who owned property SOLD it and GAVE the value of it to all the others.

This is how the Church grew from a small, insignificant sect to a force that challenged an Empire.

If you read the Bible you would see that Christ came to bring separation from the world, not partnership with evil.

Agreed. The task of the Church from the beginning has been to create a SEPARATE society of complete love and trust in the Lord. All that modern atheistic Communism has done is recognize the evil in the hearts of those who own and control the economic system. When it has stepped in to "take over", the evil residing within the hearts of the new leaders has then brought them to seek selfish control of their own. The life of Joseph Stalin, for instance, was never envisioned by Marx. Why? Because Marx failed to accept the TRUTH of man's condition with respect to the Creator; a FALLEN condition that ONLY Christ can repair. This is why I personally think that TRUE Communism is a community of baptized believers who are lead by the Holy Spirit to love their neighbours as they love themselves.

Not sure if you have ever been to Cuba; maybe you are American. I am Canadian and I have been there several times. Let me tell you this: Of all the islands in the Caribbean I have been to (and I've seen many of them), Cuba ranks FIRST with respect to social consciousness. The people of Cuba are ALL literate. Students wear uniforms and take their education seriously. Women are treated EQUAL with men at all levels of society. The waiters at the resorts have several years of post-secondary education and most speak several languages. The streets are CLEAN and litter-free. Walking down the streets of Havana at night, you feel SAFE. Road construction crews wear proper safety equipment (unlike most other islands). People are kind, courteous and take PRIDE in their work.

Whenever I have been there I have always told myself "If these people were just ALLOWED to trade with the United States their nation would become, within two generations, the JEWEL of the world". The ONLY reason Cuba isn't a better place to live than ANY of the 50 US States is because they have not been ALLOWED to trade.

Let's see how things will shape up with the new relations between the US and Cuba as encouraged by the Pope! Amen.

Ant Christ will promise peace and unity. And will rule the world the same as the communists have. With murder and tyranny. Also with severe persecution of those that believe the Bible and in Jesus Christ. You appear blind to the fact that the main purpose of communism is to destroy Christianity. To support communism is to be on the side of antichrist. History is clear on that.

Calm down, brother. Not sure where THIS is coming from! I have clearly indicated that ATHEISTIC Communism is flawed. Did you not read the first paragraph of my last post (#9)? Please read it AGAIN.

Or perhaps you where angered by the kind words I had for Cuba in my second paragraph. I was merely indicating that Cuban society has HUGE potential. If you have ever been there you would know this too. If you haven't been there then don't be blinded by capitalist media propaganda... something America seems to be pickled in. The fact is, most of the clothes on your back were made in sweat shops by illiterate mothers and uneducated children, NONE of whom are Cuban! The Revolution has been GOOD for Cuban society as a WHOLE. Lastly, now that the leader of Cuba is embracing Christianity there is even greater hope for their future! Communism with a Christian understanding of mankind's relation to God is the best of all possible worlds. So says the book of Acts.

I am pretty sure that only the party leaders would agree with you. The rest of the people would sharply disagree. But then the hundreds of thousands that escaped to America would also disagree with you.
Communism has nothing to do with the Bible or the the apostles. Communism is a form of slavery with the state leaders as masters. In my opinion this is a move toward antichrist.
Communism is evil. If the Catholic Church joins with it, it will be the apostate church. That is very obvious to anyone that reads Revelation. By your avatar you are part of the problem.

I say Amen! to that. But your problem (like most American protestants) is that you don't understand what it truly means to FOLLOW Jesus. Salvation ISN'T just a matter of believing He died for your sins. True faith is found only in ACTION. Remember the gospel encounter between Jesus and the rich young ruler? This rich, young man asked Jesus "What must I DO to inherit eternal life?" (Matt. 19:16). Jesus' response was NOT "Just believe that I am God incarnate who came to die for your sins". NO. First he told the man to keep the Commandments and THEN He said “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” (Matt. 19:21) You'll notice in the next verse that this rich, young man didn't do this... and neither do most wealthy American evangelicals who sit around in their living rooms waiting for the "Rapture" to come "BEFORE the great tribulation"! (Like the great tribulation hasn't already started!!!)

BTW, the average Cuban lives a far better life than the average person elsewhere in the Caribbean and Central America. Not only that, if they were ALLOWED to trade with the US then they would live far better than most Americans. Been through Detroit lately? The people who flee Cuba for a "better life" in American suburbia are those who live in the spirit of the rich, young ruler. In the eyes of Jesus they are all DEAD men.
