The business in Oregon was fined $135K this month for not doing prep for a same-sex wedding. In WA the flower shop woman in Kennewick was fined $1K. Boardmember Eisen of Firefox was fired for voting for Prop 8 in CA last year which attempted to define marriage as male-female.

Pastor Gibbs of Sacramento CA just posted a message on Vimeo that he has to refuse to participate in CA health care programs because they are forcing the public to pay for other's abortions. I don't know if the implementation of this just occurred (May 1) or something, and am trying to find out why this was just posted.

In the end, I think most humans will enjoy shoving their own ideals down the throats of other people. That goes for the majority of Christians just as much as for the majority of Atheists, Liberals, Conservatives or whatever political color you're going after. Good intentions mixed with a faulty opinion of personal freedoms is always a bad combination.

The Spectator did a pretty good job of pointing that out:
Free speech is so last century. Today?s students want the ?right to be comfortable? » The Spectator

When I told them that at the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]-end of the last millennium I had spent my student days arguing against the very ideas they were now spouting — against the claim that gangsta rap turned black men into murderers or that Tarantino flicks made teens go wild and criminal — not so much as a flicker of reflection crossed their faces. ‘Back then, the people who were making those censorious, misanthropic arguments about culture determining behaviour weren’t youngsters like you,’ I said. ‘They were older, more conservative people, with blue rinses.’

If liberal political movers despise the pre-pluralistic church's impositions on society so much, why are they doing their own imposing--such as penalties for not participating in same-sex wedding events or CA's making the public pay for pregnancy termination?

The finger pointing can't be toward only the liberals on this case...both sides do a fair share of this tactic. (The tactic being, using government to force everyone else to do things your way)

People these days are pretty selfish...a lot of the "I think this is the way things ought to be...so the government should enforce it"... as soon as someone else does the exact same thing, then it's ... "Whoa!!!, don't force your views on me, buddy!"

The trump card that many of the liberals throw down is the "well, yours is a religion/based on religion...ours isn't". According to the letter of the law, they're technically correct. However, that still doesn't change the fact that the tactic is the same. Many liberals simply have a constitutional loophole that gives them a leg up on their competition in terms of using government to force opinions and life views on others.
