Im finishing up closing my store and bringing it all to my house.
Thank goodness i made friends there who are helping me. I went into debt. Although ppl loved my store - not enough patrons to sustain me.
Half of my 'income' that i pay taxes on went to consignors. Its a tough situation in the business world...most are hanging on, barely.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dog died on Sunday. He was having liver failure and went down so fast. He was only 5 years old. My big boy is gone. [mastiff] - still finding it so incredulous. Its not the same without him being right by my side. :cry: I think it was due to a tick bite last autumn.
And i am so busy - its just so hard to concentrate on my loss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

More heavy lifting today.
Might do yard sales, flea markets [etc]
OR if anyone knows of anyone who can make me a website... [for free] so i can try this online store business.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will eventually and perhaps be here more and chatter. I dont know. I've been so so so busy. Sorry I have become so nonexistent. My plate is loaded worse than if i was at a buffet of all you can eat.
Peace - prayers for CF/OBOB members. :groupray:
Adding - by the end he looked so emaciated - it was incredible how fast he went down hill. He stopped eating...he could barely walk, he wanted to be in the cooler outdoors.
His last act of loyalty and love [besides trying to kiss me goodbye] was sleeping outside my bedroom door as he always did.
Im deeply depressed.
What is your Dog's Name W/A I will include him in my prayers to Jesus and our Heavenly Mother Mary, ours died last year, with Her mate mourning x 6 months until we introduced a new extra outdoors activity.
My heart aches when someone loses their family member, Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit send us our Pets to ward off evil spirits; did you know this Warrior Angel?
One day I will share something with you about Jesus' Dog/Pet,
Love and kindest wishes your Sister in Jesus Christ our Saviour
Well first of all, WA, I'm VERY VERY VERY sorry to hear about the loss of your dead pooch. I lost mine a few years back and STILL mourn that sweetie. I loved her so much. She was my loyal buddy at my side at all times. It stung. Still does. I'm one of those Christians who actually believes we'll see our pets again and that animals, in their own little way, have a soul different from ours. Heaven wouldn't be heaven without pets! :)
Regarding your business, I'm SO sorry to hear you couldn't make a go of it. Owning a small business is brutally tough now. You have liberals taxing your eyeballs out, and conservatives only protecting and fighting for BIG business. Small business owners are left out in the cold. Sucks.
I miss seeing you post, so the one blessing to come from all these negatives is that the rest of us can "see" you again.
Hang in there sister! Prayers and much love.:)
Sounds like a pretty rough patch just now, WA. You are in our prayers.
I'm sorry you've suffered several losses--both personal and professional.
I know that Word Press offers free websites and as I understand it they're not that hard to build. I update a website drafted in Word Press.
There are different online specialty stores, and of course there's Ebay. A thrift store owner even told me once that she listed some of her clothing on a thrift store website.
I think if it were me I might try to put ads up for the very large or difficult to ship items on Craigslist. That's free, and if the ad expires, you can relist.
My sister has had great success on Craigslist as a buyer and a seller.
I'd take the others to places where they're likely to get some traffic--Amazon for books and media, Etsy for crafts, Ebay for miscellaneous.
I'll pray for you as you travel in new directions.
Man, I'm so sorry to hear about all of this WA. I think losing a pet is sometimes underestimated, it's a devastating thing to go through. My dog passed away almost four years ago, and I had him for 17 years... ages seven through 24. Just today, I was in the kitchen and thought I heard him at the screen door, and I looked up expecting to see my little redheaded mutt waiting expectantly to be let in, but he wasn't there.
So I can completely empathize your situation.
As far having to move your store, I am also sorry for that. I can't completely relate, but I no less understand that it's a massive hardship and I'm sorry that you have to go through it. I hope things improve for you in that arena, and I admire your tenacity to stick with things.
CF and OBOB are praying for you. :)
WarriorAngel,
Welcome back. I will offer a prayer for you. And just remember that you have a family of brothers and sisters in the faith, especially the saints in Heaven, that are there to pray for you to have the spiritual strength to persevere through this. I've been through some very hard times at various times in my life, but I made it through by God's grace. I suggest offering up your sufferings.
I have two very good friends who buy stuff at flea markets and resell online (ebay and amazon). They make about $1000 a day in stuff- all online. Let me know if you want to chat with them about how they do it. That might be your best bet for selling stuff instead of creating your own web-site.
Something else I just thought of. My sister says that Ebay now lets people list 50 items a month without paying listing fees. I think that saves most people about $30 a month--and since you never sell most of what you list on the first-go-round, it lets you list some stuff with no risk.
