Auf Wiedersehen Harry Reid. Long overdue. May you have a good life outside of the Senate.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I think the Dems are almost as happy to see him gone as the rest of the country is.

It is going to be a very long election cycle. I can tell already. One candidate has announced and the liberals are already acting crazy. Gosh, there are going to be more. It will be interesting, but living in Iowa, it gets rather long and tedious.

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) proposed a resolution on Wednesday that said as the climate changes, it will cause food and water scarcity around the world. That will create pressures on poor women in particular, since they are often charged with growing food and collecting water for their families.

As resources dwindle, it could force many women to barter sexual favors for food and water, the resolution stated.

“[F]ood insecure women with limited socioeconomic resources may be vulnerable to situations such as sex work, transactional sex, and early marriage that put them at risk for HIV, STIs, unplanned pregnancy, and poor reproductive health,” it read.

“We have embraced the civil rights movements of this country, which were about allowing people to live the lives that best suit them,” she said. “For gay people, it was about living our lives decently without being attacked by others because we were different, or because we refused to conform. And here we are now in the 21st[bless and do not curse]century, with Christians being attacked by gay bullies because they’re different and they don’t conform to the leftist narrative or to the leftist agenda.”

Great, now we get to hear even more about Hiliary. But, if she gets the nomination, which I doubt (or shall I say Hope she won't) she will she better not win it all. I am so sick and tired of "that woman."

So I'm new here... but a "Social Conservative Safehouse"? xD Shouldn't we be dominant in this website?!

It's basically an area apart from the mainstream where things can be discussed without interference from the left. They have their safe house, too.

I believe that there is a large amount of inherent institutionalized racism in the police force, but also that this does not apply for all cops. I think that we need to reform our system so that blacks are not shot in gravely unjust ways. Should Eric Garner have sold cigarettes without a permit on a street corner? Probably not. Should he have been killed for it? NO, and to say yes is despicable. Without referencing this current case, to kill anyone and call it "just" without due process is completely inexcusable. How can you justify shooting a 12 year old with a toy gun? Or how about John Crawford, a man who was shot in a Wal-Mart for carrying an air rifle sold at the store? The amount of racism in America still present is absolutely disgusting.

Whatever happened to due process? To a trial with a jury of your peers? To "innocent until proven guilty"? Now certain police officers are judge, jury, and executioner?

That being said, I cannot in any way, shape, or form condone rioting. I'm a proponent of non-violent resistance, in the manner of Tolstoy, Gandhi, and MLK Jr.

I believe that there is a large amount of inherent institutionalized racism in the police force, but also that this does not apply for all cops.

That argument might carry some weight if blacks didn't commit a disproportionate amount of crime. Generally, their victims are also black.

I think that we need to reform our system so that blacks are not shot in gravely unjust ways.

Why do you specify blacks? Shouldn't you worry about the police shooting anyone in an unjustifiable fashion, regardless of the color of their skin?

Should Eric Garner have sold cigarettes without a permit on a street corner? Probably not.

IIRC, he died because of a bunch of preexisting medical conditions after he provoked a fight with the police.

Should he have been killed for it? NO, and to say yes is despicable.

If the police were acting within the scope of their authority, in accordance with their policies and the law, then I don't have an issue for it. If someone dies because his resistance to the police aggravates a preexisting medical condition, how are the police at fault?

Without referencing this current case, to kill anyone and call it "just" without due process is completely inexcusable.

No it's not. If you kill someone in the course of resisting their attempt to commit a crime against you, that is justifiable, and should be applauded. If someone is parked outside an airport aiming a SAM at a plane, if a person happens upon him, is it not commendable for the person who happens upon our missileer to act in order to save the lives of the hundreds of people on a jet plane? Typically, the police cannot use deadly force against someone unless that person is dangerous to the officer or to members of the public.

How can you justify shooting a 12 year old with a toy gun?

If a reasonable person would believe that the toy gun is a real gun, and that child is apparently placing someone at risk of being shot with it. Virtually anyone can operate a firearm, so, using age as a criteria to determine whether or not someone represents what a reasonable person would see as a deadly threat [with a firearm] is actually not a valid criteria for the use of force.

Or how about John Crawford, a man who was shot in a Wal-Mart for carrying an air rifle sold at the store?

I think he may have been swatted, but if it appears to be a firearm and he's acting in a manner that shows he's a threat, then it's justifiable.

The amount of racism in America still present is absolutely disgusting.

Why yes, I think we've seen some of it.

There are people who only seem to care about blacks that are unjustifiably shot by police officers, but ignore the police officers that unjustifiably shoot whites.

Whatever happened to due process?

Don't these police officers get the benefit of it, too?

To a trial with a jury of your peers?

So, what happens if an armed mob shows up at the courthouse to liberate the prisoners? Are the police supposed to yell trick-or-treat at them?

To "innocent until proven guilty"?

Well, in order to do that, you have to play by the rules, if you will. [E.g. You're not allowed to try and beat up the police if they try and haul you before a jury of your peers whom you've raped, robbed, and shot.]

Now certain police officers are judge, jury, and executioner?

If you won't go with the police, are they just supposed to let you go?

This is a place where conservatives can post and discuss things with one another without being harassed by non-conservatives. It's a "breath of fresh air" if-you-will - but with the ever-dwindling number of conservatives posting here, it's not as active as it once was.

I'm honestly surprised. As a Christian website, I thought we'd be swarming the liberals here. From what I understand, most Christian denominations are socially conservative - and therefore, have a higher chance to vote Republican.
