Does anybody else here have trouble developing crushes on people? Like not being able to feel feelings for anybody.

I do. Ever since I was four or five I have noticed this phenomenon. This deficient was especially frustrating when all of my peers and classmates would have no problem developing crushes. Which made me very jealous.

Do you happen to suffer through the same problem?

Yes I do, though after I broke up with my ex I thought I was broken as I didn't like anyone, then I had a huge crush on a guy in my uni class asked him if he was going to do anything about it lol well he was giving off the signals he liked me but he said he would feel it awkward if it didn't work out, which is a polite way of saying no, needless to say my crush went and am cool with him, though he's still flirting ha ha always the way

Um, it's a good thing because maybe this means...you are picky. Some people develop crushes too easily, I've noticed. So, might not be a deficiency at all. :)

It's been a key thing that has kept me single. As in, I have never entered a relationship partly because of that. I think it's safe to say I overdid it.

lol Yea, that can happen. I think it's okay to be picky, but as for me too, I date a lot, and when things get too serious...I start finding things to find fault with. Not necessarily in the guy, but in the 'relationship.' Probably just a fear of getting hurt, idk.

I wouldn't even say I'm picky, I just can't feel attached to people.

Even if she were a 10 it's like.. no crush.

Hmmm, I see. Well, I wouldn't say a crush is attachment. It's more about attraction at that early stage.

What? A crush can be as simple as thinking some girl looks cute?

lol maybe ^_^

A crush is ...you like this person a little more than a friend, in somewhat of a romantic way. You potentially would like to date him/her. I've had crushes before that weren't anything to do with 'attachment.' Crushes aren't really serious, in my eyes anyways.

I wanted a crush, and now it's more than I can handle so I asked for a week break of not speaking...
So now it's there but I want it gone for the time being. How to crush it.. I guess with less communication.

Crushes are a funny thing sometimes. Sometimes, they should just remain crushes. lol

Oh gosh. It's really annoying for many reasons. I really want to just be a friend. For her it's easy since she has a lot to do still, but for me I almost need some help since her personality is great, and now she looks rather nice after a few months.. But I know some distance, and so forth will help this. It's seriously annoying me and I truly wish she'd magically be "sister" status somehow.

I think that becomes less frequent as one becomes more emotionally mature. It has been several years since my last real life crush. Im not even as prone to CF crushes as I used to be.

Support. I am exactly the same as Mehguy is now. When I was in high school i always crushed way too easily and it emotionally drained me that I was trying way too hard. Now, i just tries too distract myself if i see someone even remotely cute. Its kinda sad how I have gotten too this point and the fact that I am only 20, however I have had a lot of hurt and just cannot take anymore. Half of that is the reason i am now trying too stay away from facebook.

If you keep your distance, I mean if it's really bothering you this much, that might be wise. Time will eventually get you past it. :)

Thanks :)
I'm a picky person who doesn't trip up easily, but so far this distance, and week break is good so I think/hope it'll be fine now.

Attachment of emotions and feelings? Even if for a day or two. Seems almost impossible for me.

I can understand crushes not being serious, which makes my heart sink even lower. If I cannot even get to the crush stage what are the chances that I'm ever going to be able to get to the life long relationship stage? : ( lol.

The only times I get butterflies over women is when they are hurt, Florence Nightingale syndrome I guess. Like that chick from Back To The Future. But the butterflies are never really about the person or the individual. It would be over any cute girl who is broken or sick.

So I don't think that really counts.

I have crushes too often now. I used to never get crushes on real people but I have a crush on a real person now... Which is not good. I hate feeling crushes.
