Why not instead help people who work hard and make $100/day gross doing tedious non sexual jobs, not $1000 tax free as the strippers do? These women make their living deceiving men-putting on a facade to get as much money in as short a time as possible. It's not like in 3rd world countries where many are forced into it, or have almost no other options. In north america it's the easy fast money and/or narcissism that brings the women into it.
These women facilitate the breakup of marriages etc without a 2nd thought.
The church thinks they are more deserving of financial assistance than a walmart employee who has the same education, but more moral character?

They're not making a thousand bucks a night. There has actually been some study into the trends of income for both prostitutes and strippers and their incomes have been dropping like rocks because of the economy causing less buyers and increasing the number of women turning to the sex industry for work.

I find that a lot of people have the wrong attitude about sex and freedom. If a woman wants to pay me $100 to put on a jock strap and parade around her for an hour and I agree to it what is the problem? We are consenting adults and this is a free country.

Believe it or not, for many people sex is nothing special, nudity is nothing special, some people like being sensual and enjoy what they do,. And for those who don't, no one is holding a gun to their head.

I find attitudes about this subject extremely condescending, as if as an adult I need you to do my thinking for me.

I also find it incredibly sexist. Women aren't poor fragile stupid creatures that need a big strong smart man to help them live their lives. Puh-lease. Women are thinking rational adults capable of making their own decisions. And stripping often comes down to simple math.

They can make $100/day at Walgreens or they can make $100/hr stripping at the strip club. Some women opt for choice A) others opt for choice B).

I make $310 a week, working 6 days a week for 48 hours Maybe I should work for Walgreens.

Such a problem also exists outside of the stripper profession. a persistent problem throughout all of america. Look no further than the ridiculous number of folks in debt.

The problem? Wanting more than you need.

Yes the non specific 'can make' of two dancers is a good thing to base stripper incomes on. Oh wait, its not. Yes Strippers can make a few thousand dollars in a night, do they do that with any consistency? No. Some strippers do much better than others, some do much worse. Different cities have different income expectations and different levels of competition etc... etc...

I knew a girl in college who partook of that industry for a short while. She said it all depended on the locations and which nights of the week you worked.

In terms of salaries (since I've been seeing arguments going back and forth in this thread about how much they make), I don't think there is a single stat you can point to...too many variables. A girl who works in a high-end outfit can rake in some cash, however, a girl working at a small sleezy joint probably isn't going to get rich.

As far as it being an "empowering" field as some have suggested, okay...to each their own, like dgi said, we're all adults, we can make choices...

However, I don't see how a woman could possibly feel empowered by working in one of the very few professions that embrace the culture of "the hotter you are, the more you're going to get paid".

In strip clubs, the owner is going to pay the hottest, youngest ones to work as the headliners on big money nights....if it were any other vocation and a business owner said "well, sorry, you're not going to get put on the new project, we're going to have Alexis do it because she has bigger breasts...", people would be crying foul and demanding that the government step in and press charges for sexual discrimination.

...however, the few fields that allow that exact behavior somehow always have people who say it's "liberating" and "empowering"

...I don't get it...but as you said, it's a free country and we're all adults.

What is right about dancing naked on a pole in front of married men? It's a free country, but sometimes too much freedom is a bad thing.

Who is being sexist here? The pastor who is trying to promote morality in these women? Freedom without moral conduct leads to senseless actions. Yes, even adults need to be guided sometimes

I'm going to have to 100% disagree with the part in bold.

"too much" is always going to be in the eye of the beholder, and I don't trust anyone else's eyes to behold it besides my own

I'm much more content having people doing things I don't like rather than someone else trying to dictate what my morals should be.

It's incredible how the Spirit moves... God is clearly inspiring this woman to do some fantastic things, and she's changing young women's lives. I'm pleased for her.
