I am smiling.....

Beer is not mentioned in the bible and I doubt Jesus ever tasted any........
I am a Salvation Army born and bred, Kiwi (ie Rugby, Racing and Beer) applying for bible college so better not comment.

Still .........
I confess that I have almost annually put out beer for father Christmas AND it was gone by morning.
He knew a good beer ......... and I am amazed he made it to Australia......... then the rest of the world.

Now the RC folk know a good beer.
And as there are so many Irish in NZ I gather they understood a great malt as well....

Would there be beer available in Heaven .......... although humorous I am not trying to be smart. For some folk a nice beer on Friday evening, after a hard days work, around a nice fire is talked of fondly.

* I should sadly add though that from my Salvation Army roots I have seen too much of the evil of uncontrolled drink. So I stand clear .....

I will be the man and admit that I find beer, especially draft, bad tasting to outright disgusting depending on the strength and smoothness. Cider is good, and I'm coming around to wine but still don't drink it out of communion. I only drink beer at parties, and only one at that. I won't bring my own, because I don't care if I drink any or not, but have taken up the offer before is someone is generous. Edit: I also find cola-flavoured bourbon delicious, because it taste like cola.

I'm a fan of fine craft beers myself. Here in the Pacfic NW, we have many fine small breweries that make them. My two faith traditions, Lutheran and Anglican, seem to have no problem with wise consumption of alcohol.

Haha. My taste buds are in agreement with yours. I actually love the smell of beer far more than the taste of it, which I know is odd. I don't get the appeal of keg beer at all, except for those just wanting to get drunk fast. It's vile.

There are some fruit beers that I genuinely like for drinking and for the aroma. Éphémère Blackcurrant is my absolute favorite because it looks, tastes, and smells beautiful. It's so effervescent it is almost like champagne, and it just a cheerful sorta beer. I also like Three Philosophers and Tangerine Wheat. When I was in China I drank a lot of beer because it was just safer than the water and more appealing than lukewarm soda, and so Harbin Beer kinda is appealing for the nostalgia factor.

I'm not convinced the majority of people our age actually enjoy beer. Nevertheless they'll drink plenty of it, and although not everyone is an idiot with alcohol I feel very uncomfortable around drunk people, even good friends.

I tried 'Miller' the other night and It was better than the local beer but still not my favourite drink. I also tried Canadian Club which I actually enjoyed (the little I had).

I'm afraid I'm not a beer drinker.
Living in the west country I tend to prefer Cider.

Good choice :)
