Lent is coming up and Im finally getting down to Paul Thigpens excellent Manual for Spiritual Warfare. This little book is the best Ive found on the subject. Paul launches into the subject of spiritual warfare with clear explanations, solid research and simple language. This is an area where both cynicism, sensationalism and superstition usually take over...

Very true. But from a Catholic POV this can be helpful as Lent is seen as a season of doubling down.

i know,and i'm sorry. it's just that i feel doubled down upon right now. I'm learning first hand how hard it is to work with people in a world that no longer believes in people who tell the truth. :crossrc:

I have no doubt that Satan is at work all the time. I also have no doubt that he steps up the effort during Lent, because that's when people are trying to be the best version of themselves, and he hates that.

Satan's been on my case a lot this year. I'm struggling right now, but it's sharpening my prayer life and bringing me closer to the Lord. So, I know it'll be worth it in the end. (My struggle and my spiritual growth.)

I believe the stronger you become spiritually, and the harder you work to follow Jesus, the harder Satan will be fighting over you to win you on his side. So you are doing great. Thats why he doubles his efforts during Lent, cuz each Lent we try to leave our bad habits and repent for our sins, and go back to our Lord. Of course poeple repent all year but Lent reminds us of the price that was paid for our salvation and that the least we could do to honor the one who paid that price is to be holy. And with holiness comes temptation which would only make us grow stronger.

Thanks for the kind words and advise StRestlessHeart333.

I'm just trying to deal with this one day at a time. Some days are better than others. I do feel God's grace at times and it gives me total peace. I agree, RestlessHeart, in that the closer I get to the Lord, the more Satan attacks. I was half awake and I heard a voice say "You get on his nerves!", then I was shown a pentagram. So, I must be annoying Satan with my prayers.

Amen to that ^^^ it's about time that satan got some of his own troubles back.
