"Muscle Museum" and "Sunburn"... well any song from the Showbiz album really, my opinion is that this is their best album. Muscle Museum has to be on e of my favourite video clips in a strange depressing sort of way. Origin was good especially "Plug In Baby", Absolution was pretty tight and Hullabaloo had it's moments of showing how they perform live. Black Holes is very much the break through to the main stream. Bellamy is going to be one of the revolutionary guitarists of our time. The sounds, chords structures and overall musical ability he releases is mind blowing. Besides Metallica, Muse were the first heavier sound bands i got into and also "Unintended" was one of my first songs i learnt on the guitar.

People try to compare Matt Bellamy with Thom Yorke and Muse with Radiohead but i think that they both have completely different styles. there hasn't been another Radiohead and there hasn't been another Muse, and hopefully there won't be. It's like comparing The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Both the best in their times and even still regarded as the best but The Beatles were composes and The Rolling Stones were performers. To me then, it is impossible to compare the two.

Nice call about the eyelashes White dove!

Cheers

Muse is one of the better bands of the 2000s. One thing you have to say about them is they put a ton of emotion into their songs, unlike almost any band. The impassioned vocals are quite intense. I feel like I need to towel off after listening to one of their songs.

My favorites of theirs:
1. Unintended
2. Bliss
3. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
4. Knights of Cydonia
5. Fury
6. Stockholm Syndrome

Honorable mention: Hyper Music, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Hysteria, Sing For Absolution, Supermassive Black Hole, Take a Bow, Starlight.

Apparently I need to listen to more of Showbiz. Thanks for the referrals.

Among 2000s groups, looking only at their 2000s work, I'd put them this way, in order:

Porcupine Tree
Foo Fighters
Dream Theater
Dead Soul Tribe
Spock's Beard
Mostly Autumn
Vanden Plas
Carbon Leaf
Secret Machines
Velvet Revolver
Muse
Coldplay
Arena
Threshold
The Wildhearts
Oleander
Hoobastank
Doves

"Map of problematique" is y favorite Song.

I bought a Muse album years ago, can't remember what is was called but it had a bunch of tuning forks on the cover and the song "Plug In Baby" was on it.

I didn't like the vocalist at all, and I found the music forgettable.

Matt Bellamy is a talented singer, but the music just isn't my style
