Hi im Angelica and I was on this forum over two years ago when i found out i had ocd. I became an active member seeking reassurance and the support of people on here really helped me greatly.
I see a lot of new people on this ocd forum that I dont know and i just wanted to encourage you. Many of the people who dealt with the same thing you did two years ago when i was on here have recovered from agonizing scrupulosity. Every now and then a thought might pop in our minds because we still have the disease, but we are able to say "nope i know its just ocd talking". I just wanted to encourage you all that it does get better with time and understanding. I can testify to that. I used to be convinced that I committed the unpardonable sin and was doomed for eternity and there was no hope. I did ritual after ritual. But something about ocd helps bring us closer to God.
I recommend a few things.
Join a church that suits you if you already arent in one
Read the bible daily and dont just let your ocd pick out condemning verses. Find verses that give hope and encouragement
Surround yourself with other Christians because they can offer hope
Pray
Seek medical and therapeutic help. There's no reason for you to be constantly anxious or should have to live with it
God wants you to be happy. This is just the rain before the rainbow and something some of us have to go through and regardless of what your ocd tells you you do not need to know all the answers. Trust your Father and what Jesus did for you. OCD is a disease not a reality. Thats why it cannot affect your salvation.
