We've got decent Christian books, music, and movies. How would you get the Gospel message out through a video game? I mean you've got to find a way to both remain faithful to the Scriptures while making it appealing to non-believers, and make it a fun experience overall. Personally I think a TellTale format would be a good idea. Your character is a man during Jesus's minsitry on Earth, and player choice of dialogue and action taken would determine what part he plays. He could end up being the repenting thief on the cross, one of the people who recognizes Peter in the courtyard, or just one of those yelling "CRUCIFY HIM!". A few of the events that would be covered would be the Triumphal Entry, the Arrest at Gethsemane, and the Crucifixion. What are some of your ideas?

Wow ........................... give it heaps........
If the Lord is giving you these ideas pray them through......... a touchy subject but out Lord can handle it for you....
Am praying......

PS- One of my main thoughts in communication these days is that with all of the '...Lord of the Rings...' and similar fantasy worlds I ask.........
'How can I share that the great being above all, is real, is magnificent and good happens to be the God of the Christians........ And Jesus is the great son, warrior ......... who died for folk............. Share that in a game for him......

Wow thanks y'all. I do agree Steve that God's awesome power and love certainly needs to be obvious in anything speaking His message. In series like LOTR and Narnia the characters that are metaphors for God certainly do show these attributes, but we do need things that show God as God, instead of a talking lion every now and then. I think Dreamwork's Prince Of Egypt did a splendid job at their portrayal of God. It showed mystery, power, and His wrath and love. Thank you for your prayers as well, i've been trying to decide what path to take in life and what God wants for me and I guess if He is giving me the creativity and ability to spread His word in certain ways I should at the very least look into it.

I wouldn't. Telling stories through games is still an art form that's in its infancy and even the more heavily narrative-based games that we think of as being at/near the top of this branch of the industry are still pretty crude, blunt objects when compared to more refined media like film and literature. Even the best game writer would have a hard time making a gospel game that wasn't a ham-fisted, bible-thumping adventure quest. Anyone less than that would do more harm than good by turning people off of the story.

Here's the thing, There are so many awful things in the bible that your not really restricted from putting anything in a Christian game. If it was fun you can still appeal to a wide range of people Christian and non-Christian. You could make a horror game where you walk through hell... or a war game where your in an epic biblical battle where decapitations are all too often. You can tell a story of David and how he Got a woman pregnant and sent her husband to get killed. The bible has the best stories so if someone isn't blinded by the "Christian" idealism rather than what Christianity actually is when making the game then a biblical video game could be very successful.
