Andy has a challenge -- he has to keep it clean when the birthday party he is performing at, turns out to be for a large group of first-graders, and he has to think fast because they are getting rowdy and bored, and the neatnik host is panicking because he was depending on Andy to entertain the children and maintain order. He ends up making up the songs as he goes along, and the songs are absolutely disgusting because they involve boogers and the like, but the children LOVE them!

Ann is pregnant, and Chris is getting on her last nerve with his interminable cheerfulness.

And Leslie wants Ben (who is the new City Manager) to clean up the local Farmers market. If you haven't seen it, I am not going to spoil it. You'll have to watch. Not the way I would have chosen to sell chard, I'll say that. And there is a tug-of-war between Leslie and Ben on the legalities of revoking the chard vendor's license, since Leslie's legislation had loopholes and the chard vendor complied with existing law. No, Ben won't retroactively change the law and revoke their license. Sorry. And that's when things begin to get a little testy. I squirmed while I watched this part.

On 1/30 we said goodbye to Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger (who annoyingly enough decided they would just stay "Baby Mama" and "Baby Daddy," despite Chris' perfect willingness to marry her). But Leslie just wants her friend to be happy, and I ended up being happy to see this character, and her domestic partner, drive off into the sunset in their U-Haul. Next!

But it was a great send-off, and I enjoyed it. :D

Happy Anniversary to Leslie and Ben! Well, sort of. Ben plans several special surprises, such as a "Couples Massage" and a romantic ride through town in a horse-drawn carriage, etc, all with non-refundable deposits. But there is a problem -- he did not acquaint himself with Leslie's work schedule to make sure SHE would be AVAILABLE for the wonderful surprises. So guess who IS available to join Ben so that he won't have spent all that money for nothing? Jerry!!! ^_^ LOL!!!!

In the March 6 episode, Leslie gets a serious job offer from the National Parks Service. Of course, the one person she has to discuss this with, is her respected friend Ron.

That night, we found out that Ron and Diane appear to have kept the birth of their son John to themselves. Leslie doesn't find out until she asks Ron about his preferences for the shower she proposes throwing for Diane.

And Leslie wants to tear down the wall separating Pawnee from Eagleton. And she learns the hard way that if something has never been attempted, that there just might be a reason for that. ^_^

Leslie takes a poll -- she wants to hear everyone's ideas for a new Pawnee slogan. She is also thinking very seriously about taking the new National Parks Service job, and Ben encourages her to go for it. And Tom is looking for a restaurant to own and operate, now that he has an investor lined up.

Edited: And Leslie is forced, once again, to ignore the persistent and disturbingly prevelant disrespectful and sexist attitudes that men in our society either have, or are encouraged to have if they don't have them already. Those radio hosts (in this episode) have a lot of company in the real world. I personally found it so disturbing that I couldn't bring myself to mention it until 3 days had passed! But I am hoping that eventually Leslie stops ignoring it, and starts dealing with it. I am not going to criticize her attempts to roll with the punches. I think we all do that.

Very disturbing, and I am still upset. Not about the Parks and Rec episode. But about what keeps happening everywhere, all the time, to us women. :(

Leslie hosts a luncheon for the ladies in the office, telling them it is to celebrate "Gal-entine's Day" but it is to find a best friend to "replace" Ann, who has moved away with Chris Traeger. And Ann has her baby.

It's on again tomorrow night, and this week's episode should be interesting. Prom night. :D

(Edited: Got a little ahead of myself -- it's tomorrow night.)

Edited again -- we have to wait until April 3 for the Prom night episode. It figures. ^_^

Sorry...

The local school district cut the budget for dances, so Leslie decides that the Parks Dept is going to throw a prom for the local high school. A high school student attending the planning committee is someone Leslie desperately wants as an intern, just as soon as the student (her name is Allison) pulls out a binder with photos of all of her decorating ideas. Ron is apalled -- he doesn't want Allison, who is his best friend's daughter, working for "the government." He wants her to have a well-paying job at the local sawmill. (Ron needs to explain why he himself is working for "the government," if it is such a terrible thing.)

The evening is a disaster, complete with the principal (the same guy who was principal when Leslie was in school) calling both Leslie and Ron into his office, and Andy and April being run out of the prom on a rail, after they rig the selection of the Prom King and Queen (they pick themselves!). ^_^

Make no mistake -- this prom is a disaster.

I really like the show, too, and I like that you started a thread that promotes it. It is I think out there on the cutting edge referring to issues, using very entertaining humor, which is one thing I find is making it that likable.

You kind if lost me with your meaning when saying "hanging back so somebody can chop it off", though.

If you hang back, they have already chopped it off. You stick your neck out, taking a risk, in the hope that you will receive support. I think this show is worthy of my support. :)

It's flu season, but the pharmacist isn't so sure that what is making Leslie vomit, is really the flu. So Leslie buys a pregnancy test instead of cold and flu medication.

And Ben drinks too much blueberry wine when he accompanies Tom to a wine-tasting event, to help him pick a sommelier for his new restaurant. Andy and April and Ron and Donna end up coming along (don't ask me how). Also tagging along is Craig, the hysterical and very high-strung "artistic-type" new guy in the office (he was working for the snooty people in the former city government on the rich side of town, that folded into the one in Pawnee). Craig is insulted not be be offered the job, because he is a wine expert, but the truth is, Craig is too high strung and he makes Tom nervous. Anyway, all of them end up at the wine tasting. Did I mention that Ben ends up drinking too much blueberry wine? There is a story behind that, too. ^_^

In the 4/17 episode, Donna wants Ron's help, because she is trying to get away from an ex-boyfriend. But not even Ron can find anything wrong with the guy. Time for Donna to face the truth about herself.

Oh, and Leslie and Ben are having triplets, and Ben the accountant is now wringing his hands on all the money they "wasted" on a vacation in Paris. But anyone will tell him that it is a good thing they took it when they could, because soon both of them will be very busy. ^_^

And the episode's name comes from what Dr. Saperstein (played by Henry Winkler ) told Ben and Leslie when he broke it to them that they were having triplets -- their chances of having them were only 1 in 8000.

I'm bummed, because I TOTALLY wanted to tell you guys that the Season Finale is tonight, or rather, was tonight, because you guys on the East Coast missed it already. Oops. But the 1-hour Season Finale is going to be coming on in about 45 minutes Pacific Time. I'll grab the link if NBC posts one.

Michelle Obama is the guest star tonight.

Here is NBC's recap of this episode, along with the video. It's already over until next season, and there is WAY too much episode for me to just arbitrarily pick out, including Tammy II licking her chops over Ron all over again (eeew!).
