The Washington Post is reporting that Steve King will not support Boehner:

Rep. Steve King: ‘I will not vote for Boehner as speaker’ - The Washington Post
King’s beef with Boehner: allowing the passage of Obamacare and what King called the White House’s “executive amnesty” on immigration.

“It takes a Speaker who both understands and believes his sworn duty is to use all the powers of his office to defend and restore the proper constitutional balance of powers,” King wrote.

Neither Time nor Bachman could have predicted that ME oil sheiks would flood the market to drive oil frackers out of business. .

That really isn't the point. The claim was that there was no way, nothing, that could ever again cause us to see gas prices below $2. Any honest economist could see that Rep. Bachmann was right to say that that claim by the Obama administration was baloney.

Wrong. Bachmann claimed if she were elected to POTUS that gas prices would drop to $2/gallon. That means that she was making a claim that there was some action that POTUS could take to make that happen. While it did happen, it most was not because of any POTUS or government action.

That is unless you are proposing that president Bachmann was suggesting that POTUS collude with foreign companies to drive US companies out of business.

Wrong. Bachmann claimed if she were elected to POTUS that gas prices would drop to $2/gallon.
That doesn't make what I said "wrong."

All you're doing is offering one way that prices could have been reduced. What she said has not been disproved in the least.

If she had been president, it is possible that prices could have come down through her policies, but they could have come down for a dozen reasons. The point remains this--she rebutted the Administration's claim that there was no way that we'd EVER see sub-$2 prices at the pump, and the Administration was wrong about that...as we see. There's no denying this.

No ducking or shuffling or tilting at verbal windmills on the part of those who delight in attacking Bachmann will change that.

That a foreign company is flooding manipulation to lower gas prices in no way proves that any policy that POTUS could enact would have been able to have the same effect.

May be an improvement over an orange-faced speaker weeping at odd moments on camera...
Gee, I recall not too many years ago when someone on the left would call attention to those facets of the current Speaker we would get lambasted by the conservatives. Funny how things change. :p

Will y'all support us when we make note of the fact that Gohmert knows nothing of science, especially when we back it up with facts from his own mouth? Can I begin now?

I'm probably not going to support anything that begins with "y'all" but I don't think a recitation of some junk science stuff will advance this discussion about a possible new Speaker, no. :)

Why would they support the other side? From what I've seen none of these people know science, unless it is science as read in the Bible.

I hope Trey Gowdy wins. ;)
Now...there's a guy with leadership abilities. But he's rather recent in being elected to the House.
Funny... I thought this thread was about the leadership abilities of Tyler Texas' own Louie Gohmert.

But that's okay. I sense the embarrassment.

How do you feel about the word, "ain't"?

... as in. I "ain't" going to support anything that begins with y'all. ;)
