I had vague chest pains.. Had an EKG and bloodwork.. Bloodwork was slightly elevated so they made me do a chest ct scan to rule out blood clots since I just had surgery and the elevated blood levels. chest ct scan came back fine.. No blood clots. However now I'm worried about the risks since I've had 2 ct scans in a month. I'm worried about the radiation risks and cancer. I've heard the risks are very very small.. Prayers appreciated. Also.. Just wondering if any of you have had multiple CT scans and are fine? If you don't mind sharing?

I would not worry about the multiple CT scans. While CT scans emit more radiation than an x-ray and more than normal background radiation, the prevaling information currently shows that the increase in the risk of cancer is extremely small. Although, further research will need to be conducted to completely understand any chance for increased cancer chances based on CT scans.

Either way, let's pray for your health instead. I pray that the doctors figure out what is wrong and you experience a season of health and strength!

You know quite a bit about this! Do you work with it? Everything I have seen has said the chance is very small too. The tech couldn't tell me much when I asked how much I was given each time. But everything I have read says levels under 100 mSv, which Im pretty sure both together are under that.. But under that level.. They aren't sure if there is truly any risk at all.

I've been trying to ask everyone I know.. And it is clear to see many people have multiple ct scans without any thought of it and are fine! The vast majority I should say.

Luckily, they didn't find any clots so they think it's just stress and anxiety (surprised?) so he gave me something for that.

I definitely hope to leave everything health wise in 2014 and for it not to follow me at all.

No, no "further research will need to be conducted" into the dangers of x-rays because they are well established and well known for decades. Contrary to the official information of corporate medicine, low dose x-rays are a serious and big risk because they are proven to be a major cause of cancer, especially breast cancer (see 'The Mammogram Myth' by Rolf Hefti - more on that at TheMammogramMyth dot com). The unethical mass use of x-rays has killed millions of unsuspecting people. And the death toll keeps increasing.

The "prevailing information" is disinformation and medical propaganda, instead of the real truth.
