In the parable of the 10 virgins, isn't the door closed at Jesus' coming (Matthew 25:10, compare Luke 13:24-28), which Jesus had just finished saying would be "immediately after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29-31)? Does the Bible teach a 3rd coming?

Won't Christians either be ready for Jesus' 2nd coming or be lost, as the 5 foolish virgins are lost? "The bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not" (Matthew 25:10-12);

The Bible teaches that it is a profound mystery.  I knew when I wrote this that post-trib belivers wouldn't be able to understand this, also pre-wrath believers, which is basicly the same belief, with only minor differences.  But have you ever even considered the consequences or the cost of your beliefs being wrong??  What a gamble you are taking my friend.  It has the potential of costing you eternal rewards, and forcing you to surrender your head in the coming tribulation by causing you to not be ready for the Bridegroom.

What a shame!  By what you believe, you probably will enter into the tribulation, but it would be totally unneccessary.  Only the foolish virgins will go that way.

Also, by what you believe, the foolish virgins will go to hell.  But we serve a God of second chances.  If that is so, then why do they come after saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us."  Don't they get the second chance of being able to either receive or reject the mark of the beast?  The wise virgins didn't have to reject it, but according to scripture, some people will have to.  Hmmmmmmm?  I wonder who will be given this choice then, if neither the wise or foolish virgins will be forced to choose??

You see, the reason Jesus said that He didn't know them or where they came from was because He had warned His chosen to separate from the world.  He was only coming back for those who heeded His warning, and they would be His bride.  He is coming for the aliens and strangers to this world, a royal priesthood and holy nation, and not one from the world.

The Bride will crucify her flesh before the Bridegroom comes, but the foolish ones will not be ready.  They will be the ones who are forced to choose in the tribulation, but the wise chose voluntarily beforehand.

postrib, what you believe is nothing less than a huge gamble.  If you enter into the tribulation as you say, I can promise you one thing.  You will live to regret it my friend.  I can lead you to water, but I can't make you drink.  I'm not going to go on and on and around and around with you on this.  All I can do is agree to disagree and hope that all goes well with you.  See ya!!

Man, rollinTHUNDER, why do you keep that up?  Your preparedness is spiritual.  God isn't going to leave you here or take you based on your eschatological viewpoint.  This much I know.  There is no biblical basis for this belief.  I trust in God to work out the details of His plan and that no matter what happens, it is His will and His will WILL be done.  I pray for strength that no matter what He has planned for my little insignificant vessel, that I'll recognize it and complete whatever mission He has for me.  If you're completely given over to God then you don't have to worry about what will happen next and He'll surely give you hope that won't make you have a yearning for death to end your suffering.  We shouldn't fear death but we shouldn't be anxious for it either, we should be anxious to spread the God and feed His sheep.  Our time is already appointed;  I trust God to handle what I cannot and for Him to work through me what He needs me to accomplish.

Hello JesusServant,
Don't take me wrong my friend.  You're right as far as it doesn't matter as to what view point you hold.  I never meant to imply that all people that believe in the post-trib view will be foolish virgins, or left behind, but I can see how it could be mis-understood that way.  There's a lot of truth to what you said there.  I believe that people from all viewpoints will suffer disappointment on that day.  The thing that I was getting at, was that many post-tribbers will be left behind simply because they believe that they possibly have more goof off time before the Lord returns.  I also believe that many of the post-tribbers who are sold out and haven't forsaken their first love, these will be pleasantly surprised to find out that they will not have to undergo the time of testing that those who have not laid down their lives will have to endure.  Of course, that goes for any viewpoint as well.  Anyone who has crucified their flesh and is a living sacrifice for Christ will escape, regardless of which viewpoint they hold, and even if they don't hold a viewpoint at all.  I believe that the scriptures make it absolutely clear, and Jesus meant exactly what He said.  This last generation of the lukewarm church will have a wakeup call if they keep playing games with His commandments.

It's no wonder that the Israelites were kept from seeing the Promised Land.  They missed it simply because they were disobedient.  But now this generation is waiting for an even greater Promised Land than those Israelites were.  Should we believe that we are exempt from following Jesus new commands.  Jesus said, "If you love me, then you will obey me."  Most christians today don't even know what His commands were, because their Bibles are on a shelf somewhere collecting dust.

So if you are one who worships in spirit and truth, then God bless you, but if not, this message is for you, whoever you may be.  We need to come out of the world, and anyone who gets caught playing in the world when the Bridegroom returns is in for a very rude awakening.  That's good preachin'!!!!  But I know that many won't like it.  So be it.  I've not been called to be popular.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something here.  There is also going to be a ton of pre-tribbers who are disappointed on that day as well.   I'm not a pre-tribber, but I do believe the bride will escape the entire tribulation, and there will not be any lukewarm members in the bride.  Why should they die if they are already dead, and crucified with Christ??

...The Bride will crucify her flesh before the Bridegroom comes...
Does any scripture promise the bride a rapture before the tribulation?

Some believe the tribulation may be for some Christians, but not for the bride of Christ. But there are no Christians outside of the bride, for all believers form a single body (Ephesians 4:4-6), which is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:30-32). We Christians who will be in the tribulation are Christians after the cross and after Pentecost, saved in no different way than Christians who have died or will die before the tribulation. Many of us will be slain for the word of God and cry out to the Lord (Revelation 6:9-10); we will have washed our robes in the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 7:14); we will have the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:17) and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12) and will be in the Lord (Revelation 14:13); if we die, we will enter into heaven itself (Revelation 15:2); some of us will be beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God, and we will all live and reign with Christ (Revelation 20:4).

Note that belief in an imminent pre-trib rapture isn't required to be motivated to work diligently every day for the Lord because we never know when we're going to die (Luke 12:20). And we know we will be judged by our works (Matthew 25:26, 30; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; 1 Peter 1:17; Revelation 2:23; Luke 12:47-48).

...Why should they die if they are already dead, and crucified with Christ?...
Didn't Jesus let his bride suffer and die in the terrible days of persecution under the Roman emperors? How will our tribulation under the Antichrist be any different? When we Christians suffer and die, are we really harmed? "To live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21); "Some of you shall they cause to be put to death... But there shall not an hair of your head perish" (Luke 21:16, 18); "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life" (Revelation 2:10).
