The Books of Daniel & The Revelation of Jesus Christ, and Eze., Jer., Isa., &c

Let us begin with a question.

Why ought we to read and study these things? God hath commanded us to "remember" that which has been, the past history, that we may see what He says about the Future is True, and has always been True, for it shows that only LORD God is God, and no others, for they cannot do as the LORD:
Isaiah 46:9 KJV - Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,

Isaiah 46:10 KJV - Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
We are told to "take heed" unto Prophecy, for Prophecy is a Light, which shines into the Darkness of the Future, as headlights upon vehicle at night, that we may see what is coming and prepare for it, for the Prophecies point to Jesus Christ. Prophecy is given to be redemptive, not for mere knowledge of things to come.
2 Peter 1:19 KJV - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Why read study the Books of Daniel and The Revelation of Jesus Christ?

We are commanded to "understand", and are "blessed" when we obey Jesus, whose word comes from the Heavenly Father, and therefore to reject it, abuse it, neglect it, is to spurn not merely the Holy Spirit, but Jesus and the Father Himself:
Revelation 1:1 KJV - The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:
For the Disciples had asked Jesus several questions, one of which was dealing with the "end of the world":
Matthew 24:3 KJV - And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Then we see in the context of answering, Jesus gives us a key place to look, and so that we may come to understand:
Matthew 24:15 KJV - When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: )

Mark 13:14 KJV - But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
For we are told that the "wise" would "understand", even as Gabriel was sent to help Daniel to "understand" the visions given:
Daniel 12:10 KJV - Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
How are we to "understand" these things then? Are we to guess, or conjecture, or postulate, or presume to interpret privately? Scripture answers, "No.", and we must "know" this "first":
2 Peter 1:20 KJV - Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2 Peter 1:21 KJV - For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Let us follow the rules of Scripture itself, given by God, even the Holy Spirit - 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21:
Isaiah 8:20 KJV - To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

Isaiah 28:10 KJV - For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:

1 Corinthians 14:32 KJV - And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

John 10:35 KJV - " ... the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken."

1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2 Corinthians 13:1 KJV - "... In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."

&c.
Therefore, let us then go to them, and pray before so doing, asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will lead us into all Truth - John 16:13, and humble ourselves before God, and to be teachable by Him.

Let us learn of Him, and ask the questions of His Word.
Matthew 7:7 KJV - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Isaiah 1:18 KJV - Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
To the Books!

Well said.............
All glory be to God, since it was He which inspired the words.

While we Read and Study the Books of Daniel, &c, we cannot miss their ultimate importance, which is to reveal Jesus Christ Himself. It is not enough to simply know about the future, to know about beasts, or wars, or events, or even the times, &c. For even if we think we understand all Prophecy, and think to have all knowledge of those things contained therein, and have not Love, whom is God Himself, then we have missed the entire point of Prophecy:
1 Corinthians 13:2 KJV - And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
This "charity" is the Greek is "αγαπην", transliterated "agapen", and is the 'love which is of God, or God's Love, the perfect selfless Love of the Eternal Divine God, yes even God Himself, for God is Love', as it is written:
1 John 4:8 KJV - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John 4:16 KJV - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Jesus said:
John 5:39 KJV - Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And it is written also of Him:
Luke 24:27 KJV - And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
It is not enough to know things about God, for devils know and fear and tremble, but do not love Him, neither desire to obey Him from the pure motive of Love:
James 2:19 KJV - Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
And so we must actually "know", even intimately, by personal experience, and relationship, the God of Heaven and of Scripture, even Jesus Christ, for there is an infinitely vast chasm of difference between taking in a knowledge of God, versus actually knowing God. We may know many things about a person whom we have never met, the color of their hair, their strengths, their words, their actions all from afar, and so on and so forth, and yet if we have never known them in personal experience, in closeness, intimacy, vulnerability and in openness, we merely have facts without the personal substance and experience of the person themselves:
John 17:3 KJV - And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
All those which seek Prophecy without this, have misunderstood the intent of Prophecy, and merely increase their knowledge that they will be responsible for in their judgment. For men may absorb all the information about the Prophecies, and still yet reject the gifter/giver and be lost. What a waste that would be, to have had all the light of all the ages shed upon them, and to miss the Light Himself, as others in the past had so done:
John 3:19 KJV - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

John 12:46 KJV - I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 1:1 KJV - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 KJV - The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 KJV - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:4 KJV - In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:5 KJV - And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:6 KJV - There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John.

John 1:7 KJV - The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe.

John 1:8 KJV - He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light.

John 1:9 KJV - [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 1:10 KJV - He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

John 1:11 KJV - He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John 1:12 KJV - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

John 1:13 KJV - Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:14 KJV - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:15 KJV - John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John 1:16 KJV - And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

John 1:17 KJV - For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 1:18 KJV - No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].
Therefore, when we read the Books of Daniel and consider them, we need to look for Jesus Christ, since they are about Him. More than Prophecy reveals Him, for there is also Typology, &c. Therefore, if one wants to study Prophecy and yet leave Christ Jesus out of it, this is not the study for them, though I invite them also to stay to consider these things, that they also may come to love Him, whom first loved them - 1 John 4:19; Revelation 1:5, even by the truest Science, the Science of Salvation/Redemption/Love, in demonstration before all the onlooking universe, at Gethsemane and Calvary and after, openly shewing the Power of the Love of God to conquer the rebellious and carnal heart of mankind, yes even death itself - Psalms 98:1-3; Colossians 2:14-15; Acts 10:40; &c.
Psalms 98:1 KJV - [[A Psalm.]] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Psalms 98:2 KJV - The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

Psalms 98:3 KJV - He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Let us see an example of Prophecy and Typology, in regards Jesus, that we may know what we ought be looking for in the Books we are studying.

Then we shall truly be prepared to enter in to study of the Prophecies of Daniel, &c

Remember what was said in Daniel, already about "understanding" and being "wise":
Daniel 12:10 KJV - Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
For what must we come to understand? The very Heart of God, in which He desires to save, for it is written of Him:
1 Timothy 2:4 KJV - Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Therefore, what is "understanding"? and what is it to be "Wise"? It is "understanding" that we Know God, and His Will, and that our heart burden, be as His holy, pure and burning fiery love, then we truly are His children, for He desires to save, and does not rejoice over the death of the wicked, and so what then shall be our desire, if we truly want to enter into that everlasting burning relationship with Him - Isaiah 33:14-15?
2 Timothy 3:15 KJV - And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 11:30 KJV - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Let us consider a Typology, as a for instance, that when we read Daniel, &c we may know what we ought to be looking for, for as Jesus/Logos had said:
Psalms 40:7 KJV - Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Hebrews 10:7 KJV - Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Jesus specifically said:
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39
This can be tested, in every single Passage and Book of Scripture.

A Typology For Instance, Joseph, the son of Israel/Jacob:

We shall begin, in this Typological look, at the Old Testament itself, and the lives of the very patriarchs and people in it, and seeing the very real events that God has so placed and allowed to take place in the them, that Jesus' very own life is seen throughout. As is the case with Joseph, Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Samson, Samuel, David, Solomon, Daniel, &c:

In the events of Joseph's life is so clearly seen the life of the Messiah Jesus, that it is truly something to behold. At the beginning and ending of Jesus own life there was a Joseph (a step father; husband to Mary) and Joseph of Arimathaea and thus we have the life of Jesus capped on both ends with Joseph. Joseph is given dreams, and the step father of Jesus is also given dreams.

Joseph is the first born of Rachel (Rachel means a "ewe", a female Lamb, she bares a male, in type the "male lamb", firstborn) (Jesus is the Lamb of God), and Joseph is a miracle child for Rachel at first bare no children (even as other patriarchs wives before her) (Jesus is a miracle child, the 7th in scripture). Joseph's name means "YHVH will add" (and Rachel also had a second son, Benjamin, meaning "Son of the Right Hand"), and so we have in these two names, coming from the "ewe", "YHVH has added [to me] the Son of His Right Hand" (as we may see in Genesis 30:24, 35:24), and as we consider the very names found given in the scriptures, we see a special order given in Revelation 7 of those names of the sons of Jacob (see to come).

Joseph is the beloved son of Jacob (Israel) and is given a robe (garment of character) of many colors (the very symbol of the everlasting covenant, rainbow) even in his "old age", he being a representative of the "ancient of days" with a special son (Jesus is the only begotten son of the Father, who is the one who made the everlasting covenant, for he is the messenger of the covenant):
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many] colours. Genesis 37:3
Joseph was special in that he was specially chosen of God, and was given visions of prophecy and future glory, and able to interpret them (Jesus is a prophet, foretold even by Moses to come, for as Jesus said, "Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he]." John 13:19; He tells the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9-10), notice that the word "[he]" is not present in the Greek, and realize what is actually being said), and all would bow to him (even as it is said of Jesus, "...That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear." Isaiah 45:23; Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10 ).

In the scriptures, it is interesting to note that in the life of Joseph, the scripture records no specific sin of his (though scripture is clear that all except Christ Jesus have sinned), but scripture makes the correlation that Joseph is the type of He who was to come, spotless. Joseph loved his family, his father and brothers, even though his brothers were cruel unto him and hated him.

Joseph (the son) is sent by the Father (Israel, the ancient of days) unto His brethren, of whom he is related by flesh:
And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed [the flock] in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here [am I]. Genesis 37:13
The brothers of Joseph, because of envy and jealousy and pride, plotted to be rid of him, even kill him (even as seen of the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes in the days of Christ Jesus as they did to him):
And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. Genesis 37:18
Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. Genesis 37:20
Joseph was taken, thrown into a pit, a hole (Jesus placed in a pit, and into a grave), and his robes are torn and covered in the blood of a killed kid of goat (goat is the symbol of the sin offering, as it is on the day of atonement; Leviticus 16; Christ Jesus it is said, "For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin..." 2 Corinthians 5:21), and though Joseph did not die there (though in the events he is made to be dead), in type he comes out alive of the pit (Jesus too comes out of the grave alive) and is exalted (even as Joseph was exalted over the whole house of Pharaoh).

A word of prophetic utterance given by Judah:
And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit [is it] if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? Genesis 37:26
And then the following:

And they took Joseph's coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood; Genesis 37:31 (see also Jesus, "And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." Revelation 19:13), Jesus was stripped of his robe (pure white robe, perfect righteousness) and even a scarlet robe was placed upon him (And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. Matthew 27:28). The blood stained robe is presented to the Father (Israel), to cover the sin of Josephs brethren in what they had done to the favored son.

Joseph is betrayed by his brethren, and sold for the price of a slave in the amount of silver (in this instance, 20 (room for inflation), but in the events of Samson, more silver pieces); and Christ Jesus is betrayed into the hands of the enemy and sold for the price of a slave, 30 pieces of silver. Prophecy and typology combine perfectly. Even as Judah betrayed, Judas betrayed.

Notice that he was taken down into Egypt (Hosea 11:; Matthew 2:15), and even by those that were carrying "spices, balm and myrrh" (Genesis 37:25), even as Jesus before going down into Egypt as a small child, was met by the wisemen of the east, which brought before him, "gold and frankincense and myrrh" (Matthew 2:11).

Joseph is tempted by a seducer, and is yet victorious over temptation, though he is falsely charged of crime and sin and is later vindicated. Jesus was victorious over all temptation and falsely charged and is vindicated.

Joseph is then cast into prison (representative again of the grave), and is seen as being condemned between two other men (cupbearer and baker) and with the wicked, one of the two men is restored and the other condemned to death, even as the two thieves upon the crosses next to Christ Jesus, one will be restored in the resurrection to come, and the other is lost.

Joseph is then brought before Pharaoh, and prophecies of coming disaster, and yet Joseph is in the position to be able to save them all from dying, and so is made ruler over all of his household, bearing authority, at the age of 30 and even raised up as Judge over his brethren. Jesus too, as prophecy and typology foretells (Numbers 4) that Jesus too would be 30 years of Age at the beginning of His ministry (AD 27), the age a man had to be to begin the priestly work in the tabernacle and is the "Judge of all the earth".

Joseph tests his brothers by a cup, and even gives to them of the money they paid for their bread. Jesus at the last supper also has a cup, and even speaks to James and John of the cup they were to drink from, even as Christ Jesus drank from the cup that the Father had given Him to drink. Christ Jesus offers salvation really, without price, and cannot be bought with any amount.

Joseph forgives his brethren and feeds them all, and the whole land (vast multitudes) grain (bread) even in the time of famine, and though testing their loyalty, and to see if they have had a change of heart, reveals himself to them when He sees their converted hearts, and kisses them. He brings them all into the land of plenty and the fertile plains and there is great rejoicing. Jesus asks of the Father forgiveness for his people, and dying is the sacrifice for sin, so that we too may be taken into the land of plenty and fertile plains. Jesus is that manna, that bread, from Heaven, which feedeth His people of the true bread of life, the words of God, Jesus feeds the multitudes.

Joseph is for a time separated from the Father, but is restored. Christ Jesus upon the Cross is too separated from the Father (Psalms 22), but is restored.

Joseph's bones and body were carefully preserved and protected, and were not to be buried in Egypt, even as Christ Jesus, being that uncorrupted manna that is preserved forever (saw no corruption), no bones were broken (even as the type of the passover Lamb), and his body carefully taken down from the cross and preserved by Joseph of Arimathaea and others. Joseph was a shepherd for the flocks of His father, Jesus is the Good Shepherd.

Joseph was not immediately recognized by his brethren and treated as a stranger, Jesus came unto His own (the people He chose out for himself), and His own knew him not. Even upon the road to Emaus, later he was only known in the breaking of Bread. Both were filled by the Holy Spirit of God, and through the providence and guidance and foresight of God, were to save many from destruction. Even the 7 years of famine and plenty are also realized in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, for 3 1/2 years by His own preaching, and then through those who heard him for another 3 1/2 years (Hebrews 2:3), as spoken of in Daniel.

Rachel dies in Bethlehem Ephrath ("And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which [is] Bethlehem." Genesis 35:19; "And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet [there was] but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same [is] Bethlehem." Genesis 48:7) , the very place where Christ Jesus is born and foretold ("But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting." Michah 5:2; see also Matthew 2:1-6; John 7:42). Bethlehem means the "house of bread", and Jesus (he being the Bread of Life) was born in a manger (a place for feed/grain).

There is no doubt the providence of God leading in the Life of Joseph to point us unto Jesus Christ, and more could be said and seen in that life, but there are now many, many others we may look at and see, that Christ Jesus truly is all throughout the scriptures, yet we shall come back to them, in future, yet for now, please turn to Daniel and let us consider it.

The Book of Daniel, is a special prophetic book of the Old Testament. It is the 'sister' book to the Revelation of Jesus Christ, for the two 'books' go hand in hand.

In the Book of Daniel, a time portion of it, was "seal[ed]" - Daniel 12:4,9, while in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, that very same time portion of the Book of Daniel is there "open[ed]" - unsealed; Revelation 10:2,8 - to be prophesied unto the whole world after a specific prophetic time has come to pass:
Daniel 12:4 KJV - But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Daniel 12:9 KJV - And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Revelation 10:2 KJV - And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and [his] left [foot] on the earth,

Revelation 10:6 KJV - And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer.

Revelation 10:8 KJV - And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go [and] take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

Revelation 10:9 KJV - And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take [it], and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

Revelation 10:10 KJV - And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

Revelation 10:11 KJV - And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
The Book of Daniel therefore, itself, is really not merely one prophetic book, but two major portions/books related one to the other, even with a special prophetic time portion of it "sealed" until "the time of the end" - Daniel 12:4,9, which we, will come to understand in this present study

This Book of Daniel may be basically subdivided into these two Major potions:
[1] Chapters 1-7,

[2] Chapters 8-12.
Chapter 1 is also unique in that it is really a basis and connection for both major portions, summing up the whole of Daniel from Captivity to Release, in two aspects.

This is seen not only in the text itself for:
[1] Daniel Chapter 1:1-2:4[a], which is the introductory portion of the Book of Daniel, is given in Hebrew, connecting the two major portions,

[2] Daniel Chapter 2:4-7:28 is given in Aramaic [Chaldee].

[3] Daniel Chapter 8:1-12:13, that again the Book of Daniel is given primarily in Hebrew language once more.
This pattern, is confirmed in the Qumran Scrolls, or Dead-Sea Scroll collection, wherein the texts of Daniel were also found, even indicating their ancient authorship, in the range of to 600-500 BC:
Qumran; Daniel:

[Scroll] 1 Q Dan A (1Q71) - [Range] Dan 1:10–17; 2:2–6. These confirm the language shift from Hebrew to Aramaic, but omits the phrase ‘in Aramaic’ at 2:4.1

[Scroll] 1 Q Dan B (1Q72) - [Range] Dan 3:22–30; Four fragments on vellum in Aramaic; and confirms the absence of the apocryphal Greek "Prayer of Azariah and Song of the Three Men."

[Scroll] 4 Q Dan A (4Q112) - [Range] Dan 1:16–2:33; 4:29–30; 5:5–7; 7:25–8:5; 10:16–20; 11:13–16. Some portions of these verses are incomplete.

[Scroll] 4 Q Dan B (4Q113) - [Range] Dan 5:10–12, 14–16, 19–22; 6:8–22, 27–29; 7:1–6, 26–28; 8:1–8, 13–16.These confirm the language shift from Aramaic to Hebrew.

[Scroll] 4 Q Dan C (4Q114) - [Range] Dan 10:5–9, 11–16, 21; 11:1–2, 13–17, 25–29. These, the oldest known text of Daniel.

[Scroll] 4 Q Dan D (4Q115) - [Range] Dan 3:23–25; 4:5?–9; 4:12–14. The largest of these fragments contain five partial lines in severe decay.

[Scroll] 4 Q Dan E (4Q116) - [Range] Dan. 9:12–14?, 15–16?, 17?… There are five small fragments of chapter nine.

[Scroll] 6 Q Dan A (6Q7) [aka pap 6 Q Dan] - [Range] Dan 8:16, 17, 20, 21; 10:8–16, 11:33–36, 38. The cave in which these were found contained papyrus manuscripts rather than leather parchment. This also confirms the absence of the apocryphal Greek sections of Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, &c, for they were not present among any of the fragments.

see also[FONT=Calibri, sans-serif] - [/FONT][FONT=Calibri, sans-serif]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/1992/01/new-light-on-daniel[/FONT]
This is not the only way in which to tell that these two portions are so delineated.

We can also tell by the very written structure of the Book of Daniel in its Chiastic nature, as Daniel Chapters 1-7 are given Chiastically [Chiasm, “v”, “^” or “x” in shape structurally; ie, abccba, 123321, or more complicated, etc] in the shape of the 7 Branch Candlestick of the Sanctuary, for instance:
Daniel 1 is the center candlestick.
from Captivity - Babylon to Release - Cyrus, the type of Christ
Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 are the first corresponding branches.
Visions of the Kingdoms of the Earth ending in the Kingdom of Christ on Earth.
Daniel 3 and Daniel 6 are the next corresponding branches.
God's Love, The Trials Of God's Peoples, the Testing of obedience to God's Law, especially in the first Table, worship to God.
Daniel 4 and Daniel 5 are the latter corresponding branches.
Two Paths, Two Kings, One Saved from His sins and delivered, and One Lost in his sins, his probation closed forever.
Thus, imagine the tips of the candles forming on the candelabra, Chapters throughout, with Chapter 1 being the central heart:

Daniel 8-12, being the second Major portion, but again, expanding upon what the first 7 already give. Daniel parallels not only internally, but externally with the Revelation of Jesus Christ itself, for instance, see Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. Other Examples to come.

Daniel 8 gives another vision, in the language of the Sanctuary, and is expanded upon in Daniel 9-12, and in fact Daniel 8 and 11 Parallel perfectly, though Daniel 11 gives more detail. Daniel 12:1-3, really are the continuation/furtherance/repetition of Daniel 11:40-45.

This is not arbitrary and wishful thinking, but will fully be shown to be so, in the study to come, for the Book of Daniel will be seen to be full of the language of the Sanctuary -Tabernacle/Temple - of God, the very Plan of Salvation in picture/type.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, will be shown to be written in the same manner, after the pattern of the 7 Branch Candlestick.

For many do not understand what is written in Daniel, nor in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, simply because they do not understand the Sanctuary pattern, given by God:
Psalms 77:13 KJV - Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
And it is Christ Jesus is that way:
John 14:6 KJV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Who is even the "Light" of the World:
John 1:9 KJV - That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 8:12 KJV - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9:5 KJV - As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Revelation 21:23 KJV - And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

&c.
Revelation is also structurally built in the Shape of the 7 Branch Candlestick and once this is understood, one cannot go wrong in determining where one is in the Book, in time, in event, &c, but it will take a little more to understand the when's.

The following is simplified.

[1] [2] [3] [7] [4] [5] [6]

[Beginning to Ending]

[7] The Great Controversy central theme, Christ/His people, vs Satan/his people, from all of time, Heaven to Earth

The Parallels:

Basically run Parallel [iow, roughly same timeframes begin/end], some overlapping
[1] 7 Churches......[begin] ------------> [end] [parallel basically, some overlapping]
[2] 7 Seals ..........[begin] ------------>[end] [parallel basically, some overlapping]
[3] 7 Trumpets.... [begin]------------->[end] [parallel basically, some overlapping]
The Consecutives:

Basically run Consecutively [iow, begin/end, begin/end, begin/end], some overlapping
[4] 7 Last Plagues ...[Begin]<---------> [end]
[5] 1,000 Years ......................................[Begin]<------------->[end]
[6] New Jerusalem, New Heaven, New Earth ............................[Begin]<------------------->[never end]
7 Churches also connect with New Jerusalem and its saints
7 Seals also connect with 1,000 Years and its sealing
7 Trumpets also connect with 7 Last Plagues.

This may be seen in the very language of the texts themselves, which we shall look at in detail a little later.

You don't need to know any details about future events to know that God will judge the world in righteousness. Nothing else makes sense of this life. No details of wars in the middle east add anything to that even if they are true.

Be careful of showing off knowledge for know-it-alls sake.

Be careful of showing off knowledge for know-it-alls sake.
Pardon brother, but the Bible Foretold the Judgment of God in Righteousness, and is therefore classified under Prophecy, of an event that was to be in the future from the first mention of it. Even as Enoch also followed in speaking it:
Jude 1:14 KJV - And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Jude 1:15 KJV - To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Judgment for the professed believer in God is Now according to Revelation 14:6-7; Daniel 7, 8, 9 10-12, and so on.

For speaking of the Coming of Jesus Christ and that which is pertained unto it, including Judgment, and all else, we have the "more sure word of Prophecy" which is even better than eyewitness testimony:
2 Peter 1:19 KJV - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Those which do not humbly do so, will end up believing the lie of Satan in regards Jesus Coming, and be deceived into accepting the false return which comes first:
2 Thessalonians 2:11 KJV - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe [the*] lie:

2 Thessalonians 2:12 KJV - That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

[* see Greek]
Therefore, it is not my knowledge, but His, since the Holy Spirit gave it in Scripture, and He speaks what He hears from it. Even as Daniel has said:

Daniel 2:30 [paraphrased] - But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the[m] ...

Therefore, I will as messengers sent of old, regardless of what others may interject with, continue to preach what God would have me preach from His Word.

If others find that it is unpalatable to their taste, they may follow after Hananiah of the days of Jeremiah, and yet as Jeremiah, I will weep for them, even as God does. Yet I pray you will continue with this thread further still.

What currently transpires in the middle-east, is but one small portion of the 'wars and rumors of wars' Christ Jesus foretold, and is no more significant in scope than any of the other wars going on in any other part of this earth. This will be shown later. Let us have patience as is proper and not seek to jump ahead, before we lay the foundation.

I've been here a long time and have a M in NT background and you've been here 5 minutes.

You missed my point I think: 99.9% of what God is saying is that there is the day of judgement through Christ, Acts17. Whether there are details of middle east battles or not is the other 0.1 and that's all the extensively debated minutia pre pros posts and post holes and black holes.

That is why the several NT references to the 2nd coming are clear that there is righteous judgement coming but there is nothing Judean in them:
Acts 17, Rom 2, 8, I Cor 15, 2 Pet 3, Heb 9, 2 tim 4.
Paul set up the Gospel in Rom 3, which contains the wrath of God in it on Christ, by his validating the day of Judgement in ch 2.

I don't count the Rev because I don't believe in starting any doctrine from it that is not crystal clear in the normal writings of the NT.

And you are more than welcome to stick around brother, to study with us, so long as you do not disrupt the original intent of the OP with discussion which is not germane to it. If any seem to disregard after patiently pleading, then they will simply have to be and remain unresponded to.

As for the second part, for someone with a Consonant in Consonants, one ought be knowledgeable that the Revelation of Jesus Christ is drawn from the whole of Scripture, and that all Books therein, meet and end in it. And so I assume it is so known already. :)

Yet for the latter part, you are assuming something about me, but what exactly, I will leave open, not desiring to discuss it here, nor with you at this time, and hope you understand. Now, back to 'the School of the Prophets', that we may all be taught of God, even as it is written.

I will not be replying to anything further in this nature from you brother, but only that which is relevant to the OP. If one does not desire to consider Daniel and or Revelation, &c with us as noted, they may freely go unto their own place, though I think they would surely miss as an important message as had came from Noah in his day. Thank you for understanding! :)

What I mean is that we don't need another 'you need my expertise on daniel and Rev' guy. That is germaine to the OP.

There are 2500 uses of the OT by the NT and they don't spend time on the modern state of Israel or wars like that. It is about spotlighting the Christ event of the Gospel and the redemption from the wrath of God (and its details) that is in Christ Jesus.

Have a look at some of the other topics; lots of them are burned out in debate over minutia, but the Gospel is always encouraging and energizing.

If you value studying under experienced mentors, then it is good to have a degree in NT background, isn't it?

Jesus specifically said: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39

I am astonished at the sheer quantity of your doctrine; when you could have placed everything in a nutshell by quoting the verse above in its proper context:

"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." -- John 5:39-40

Christ is warning us that salvation cannot be found in those scriptures that testify of him, but only in Him.

Daniel 1.

Read this Chapter upon your own, prayerfully, asking God for wisdom and understanding, and that as we study, we will follow God in what we learn from His word.

Then let us begin studying it together and place the texts:
Daniel 1:1 KJV - In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

Daniel 1:2 KJV - And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

Daniel 1:3 KJV - And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring [certain] of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

Daniel 1:4 KJV - Children in whom [was] no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

Daniel 1:5 KJV - And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

Daniel 1:6 KJV - Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

Daniel 1:7 KJV - Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel [the name] of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

Daniel 1:8 KJV - But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel 1:9 KJV - Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

Daniel 1:10 KJV - And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which [are] of your sort? then shall ye make [me] endanger my head to the king.

Daniel 1:11 KJV - Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

Daniel 1:12 KJV - Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

Daniel 1:13 KJV - Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

Daniel 1:14 KJV - So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

Daniel 1:15 KJV - And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.

Daniel 1:16 KJV - Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

Daniel 1:17 KJV - As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Daniel 1:18 KJV - Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel 1:19 KJV - And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

Daniel 1:20 KJV - And in all matters of wisdom [and] understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians [and] astrologers that [were] in all his realm.

Daniel 1:21 KJV - And Daniel continued [even] unto the first year of king Cyrus.
Let us consider the Basic overall, and what do we see?

Two Rulers overall:
[1] God
[2] satan, "his god"
Two Kings:
[1] Jehoiakim
[2] Nebuchadnezzar
Two Kinds of Servants:
[1] Of God
[2] Of satan
Two Cities:
[1] Jerusalem
[2] Babylon
Two Peoples:
[1] Israel - even the children of Heaven
[2] Babylonians/worldly - even children of the devil/wicked one
Two Religions:
[1] Worship of the True God
[2] worship of satan/devils/idols, "Chaldeans", "all the magicians [and] astrologers"
Two Temples/Sanctuaries:
[1] House of God
[2] House of "his god"
Two Tongues:
[1] Language of Canaan, symbolic of Heaven
[2] Language of Babylon, symbolic of earthly confusion
Two Lands:
[1] Canaan/Jerusalem/Judaea
[2] Babylon, Land of Shinar
Two Ways:
[1] God's Way, His Commandments, Righteousness, Fear of God, Deliverance/Liberty/Release - Cyrus - type of Christ Jesus
[2] the way of satan, rebellion/transgression/self-righteousness, fear of men -"I fear my lord the king", Bondage/Slavery/Captivity
Two Wisdoms:
[1] God's wisdom
[2] wisdom of men/satan
Two Names:
[1] God-given birth names; Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah
[2] Babylonian-given/satanic names, Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego
Two Diets/Lifestyles:
[1] God's Daily Diet/Lifestyle, water and "pulse", healthy
[2] Satan's/worlds daily lifestyle, corrupt 'wine' - alcohol, delicacies, &c, unhealthy
Two Characters:
[1] Godly, "purposed in heart", submissive to do the will of God
[2] Worldly/Babylonian, submissive to do the earthly king's will
Two Conditions:
[1] Purity/Undefiled/Holy/Sacred/Faithful
[2] Defiled/Impure/Unholy/Profane/Unfaithful
Two Times:
[1] Period of Time/Probation/Testing/Proving
[2] Probation/Testing/Proving is Over/Passed
Two Ends:
[1] Eternal Life
[2] Eternal Death
Thus the Great Controversy is set before us, using a localized earthly event to speak to us of something far greater and Heavenly in magnitude.

Now, let us look again in detail.

:)
True, since the Scriptures, point to Christ Jesus, as was stated in the quotation of 1 Corinthians 13:2, along with 1 John 4:8,16 and then John 5:39, followed by Luke 24:27; and John 17:3 &c - http://www.christianforums.com/t7850346/#post66590745
Romans 10:14 KJV - How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:15 KJV - And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Romans 10:16 KJV - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Romans 10:17 KJV - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Thus even as it is written, about that "more sure word" of "Prophecy" that we would do "well to take heed", we ought understand Prophecy, for it is the Testimony of Jesus - Revelation 1:1,9, 12:17, 19:10, &c, even as it is written:
Deuteronomy 8:3 KJV - And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Matthew 4:4 KJV - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 4:4 KJV - And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Thus Prophecy as the Light that shines ahead into the Dark of the Future, that we might obey Christ Jesus, and move to safety, by taking Heed of His Word unto us, yes, even the Testimony of Jesus, given to Him by the Heavenly Father. Notice the contrast:
Proverbs 22:3 KJV - A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Proverbs 27:12 KJV - A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, [and] hideth himself; [but] the simple pass on, [and] are punished.

Luke 4:4 KJV - And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Paul is speaking of the Gospel in Romans 10, not old covenant prophecy.

It also appears you misinterpreted Revelation 19:10. Prophecy is not the testimony of Jesus.

"… the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." -- Rev 19:10

The remnant of Israel (the early Church) had two fundamental qualities:

"[They kept] the commandments of God, and [had] the testimony of Jesus Christ." -- Rev 12:17

The only time the interpretation of prophecy is a factor is when it is misinterpreted and/or misapplied, to make people believe things that may ultimately weaken their faith; for example, the false prophecies of Hal Lindsey and Harold Camping, to name a few false prophecies pushed by futurists for one reason or another (but generally, for money.)

:)

If I gave my frank opinion on the posts above I'd probably be banned, so I'm going to tone it down and just say: Amazing Doctrine - thank you for your insightful posts. Don't let someone like Interplanner bother you. Interplanner - Don't be jealous of Amazing Doctrine's wisdom and insight. You paid for a "M in NT" so you obviously want to learn - take the opportunity now because even if Amazing Doctrine has only been "here" five minutes he has clearly taken the time to learn a great deal outside of "here." And if time "here" is so important to you, then make the most of your time "here" and learn from those like Amazing Doctrine who are sharing and explaining what could be confusing topics for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

The being here 5 minutes remark was to illustrate that he must not know what any of the recurring discussions here already are. For ex., Does he know what 2P2P is? How does the NT use the OT? What is literalism? If he really knows the NT, what chapters are self-organized statements about where it is all going? What happens when we start a doctrine from the Rev as though it was as normal communication as the newspaper?

If our pal AD really wants something to chew on, try this one:

NT eschatology is either 1st century Judean OR future worldwide. We know this from the identifying marks of Mt24A and B (using v29 to divide). We also now know this is distant future rather than 'right after' the destruction of Jerusalem, because we are still here and the 2nd coming has not happened yet. But it was originally thought to be right after.

...
Brother, Paul quoted two OT passages from the Prophet Isaiah, dealing with Prophecy about the Gospel, starting with Genesis 3:15, when he said, "It is written" - vs 15, see Isaiah 52:7, and "For Esaias, saith", in vs 16 - Isaiah 53:1. It would be like Hebrews 8:8-12, 10:16, citing Jeremiah 31:31-34, etc. It is OT Prophecy dealing with the Gospel and Covenant.

The Spirit of Prophecy, being the Testimony of Jesus, is given by the Holy Spirit throughout the whole of Scripture, see Exodus 16:34; Isaiah 8:20; &c, for brief examples, and is one of the gifts listed in the Church - 1 Corinthians 1:5-8; Ephesians 4:7-16; for Prophets, until the end of the Mystery of God - Revelation 10:7, being the ending/closing of the preaching of the Everlasting Gospel - Revelation 14:6-7, &c. I will here quote myself, originally written for a witness to the WTS/JW, but suits the purpose here also:

"The Two Witnesses [The Law and the Prophets, see also Zechariah 4]:
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20

The Law [the Commandments of God] and the Testimony [which is the Spirit of the Prophets/prophecy] are two:

Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 1 Corinthians 1:6

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Corinthians 1:7

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:8

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 1 Corinthians 12:1

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:4

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 1 Corinthians 12:9

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 1 Corinthians 12:10

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:28

This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2 Corinthians 13:1
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Hebrews 10:28

Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Revelation 1:2

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; Revelation 1:4

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:5

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Revelation 19:10

["For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:" Psalms 78:5;

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them." Isaiah 8:20;

"Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, [and by] all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments [and] my statutes, according to all the law which I commandedyour fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets." 2 Kings 17:13;

"Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations." Nehemiah 9:26;

also known as "the law and the prophets" [Matthew 5:17, 7:12, 11:13, 22:40; Luke 16:16, 24:44; John 1:45; Acts 13:15, 24:14, 28:23; Romans 3:21, etc; and see "the law [is] no [more]; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD." Lamentations 2:9;p, see also Proverbs 29:18; Ezekiel 7:26; Zephaniah 3:4; Zechariah 7:12, etc.]

I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:9

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: Revelation 6:9

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Revelation 11:3

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. Revelation 11:4

And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. Revelation 11:5

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. Deuteronomy 13:6

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. Deuteronomy 19:15

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Matthew 18:16

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Romans 12:6

Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 1 Timothy 5:19

In fact, God the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit also work in this way, they being The 3 Eternal Witnesses:

It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. John 8:17

Jesus declares it so, and even the Jews which heard Him understood this was the way it had to be:

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. John 5:31
The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. John 8:13

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. John 8:14

I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. John 8:18

Christ Jesus, the Son, was sent of the Father to Witness and Testify of the Love and character of God the Father.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 14:7

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. John 17:6

Therefore, Jesus is “the True Witness” [Revelation 3:14], for a True Witness can only Testify of what He has seen/heard/experienced, and if Jesus is not eternally YHVH God, the Son, then He is unable to so witness of the eternal Father, but not enough according to His own standard of two or three.

There are three persons, all able to Witness and Testify of the other in perfection.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7 [to be thus “one” is to be in complete, atonement, and agreement]
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 1 John 5:8 [to be thus “one” is to be in complete, atonement, and agreement]
[both of these texts are in the manuscripts, for those sources, please consider: http://www.pearltrees.com/#/N-u=1_149548&N-p=27186477&N-fa=1582267&N-f=1_1593484&N-s=1_1593484]

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. John 3:11
Since Jesus is “the True Witness” [Revelation 3:14], being able to Testify of the Eternal [John 8:58] and Heavenly [John 3:12], it must also mean that He is “the Truth”.

Additonally, consider Isaiah 28:10:

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isaiah 28:10

[1] Precept upon precept, but not merely once, but twice given.
[2] Line upon line, but not merely once, but twice given.
[3] Here a little, but also there a little, thus at least in two places.

Even this passage is given twice in Scripture:

But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Isaiah 28:13

Notice the example given inbetween these two, even utilizing the method given:

To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this isthe refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28:12

That is quoting several passages or texts of Scripture, for God hath said in Exodus 16:23, "this...[is] the rest...", Exodus 23:12, 31:17, "refreshed", etc... [consider also Exodus 33:14; Deuteronomy 12:10, 25:19; Joshua 14:15, 23:1; 2 Samuel 7:1,11; 1 Chronicles 22:9; Isaiah 14:3; also Acts 3:19, etc.]

The Ten Commandments themselves are also given in such a way:

And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written onboththeir sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. Exodus 32:15

The Scriptures themselves are given this way See Genesis 1 and 2, for repeat and enlargement, symmetry, even in Chiastic Structures and Epanados formats [ABCCBA, etc]. Here is another example:

NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto mypath. Psalms 119:105"

Additionally, your citation of Revelation 12:17, is incorrect.

Revelation 12:17 KJV - And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

"have" - εχοντωνG2192 V-PAP-GPM

V-PAP-GPM is:

"Tense: Present
Voice: Active
Mood: Participle
Case: Genitive
Number: Plural
Gender: Masculine
First 30 of 113 occurrences of V-PAP-GPM" - V-PAP-GPM - Robinson's Morphological Analysis Codes

And therefore, the 'additions' "[they kept]" and "[had]", being past tense to suit your apriori position, which you have 'substituted' for the actual active and present words "keep" and "have", are incorrect Greek, Gramatically, &c.

I would remind you:

Revelation 22:18 KJV - For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Revelation 22:19 KJV - And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.
