The question is why does David get to be king?...I'm glad I asked:
Adam is the first israel as exodus 4:22 tells us Israel is my firstborn son and certainly Adam qualifies. We also see when Israel splits a Jacob comes forth. If we know this we know that Israel/Adam split and brought for Eve which is a type of Jacob. There are 2 blessings in a Israel/Jacob the Israel half is the scpeptre and the Jacob half is the birthright just as we see the 2nd born getting the birthright blessing not the firstborn....examples

This blessings to have dominion is promised to the holder of the birthright and the holder of the sceptre
We see this blessing moving along through the bible the sceptre is the kingship and the birthright is the priesthood

No where is scripture do we ses Jesus being called "my servant David"
We see Jesus being called "the son of david".. "the root of david".. the "offspring of david" but nowhere is Jesus called "my servant david"
In psalm 89 we see "my servant david" receiving a throne and a covenant that lasts as long as the sun and moon coveneant
34My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
In a "UNITED ISRAEL" david will be king in the millenium until all "convenats are fulfilled:
1 Kingly covenant
2 Priestly covenant
3 Sun and moon covenant
Jeremiah 33:
17 For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
19 And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying,
20 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

What does David my servant become?....He becomes the king of the earth. How long? for the 1000 year millenium and the season satan is loosed and then a new heaven and new earth is created(God tabernacles with us and sets his sancturary in the midst of us and David becomes prince and Jesus KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS for all eternity!
24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
28 And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Revelation 21 we see Jesus is ruling in the new heaven and new earth as "THIS" is his time to rule on earth and all the covenants of David being king and the levites ministering in the millenium and the sun and moon convenat being completed and the physical temple finished in the millenium just as is described in ezekiel during the millenium.....now we see Jesus ruling and being the light because there is no night and no need for the sun and moon in the new earth and no need of a temple as Jesus is the temple and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it(David being the highest king on earth during the millenium)
Jesus' kingdom is not of this earth but of the one to come!
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
It is easy to see the "servant David" is not Jesus first the servant David starts out a king but by the end of the verse he is "forever a prince" becuase his covenant as king only lasts as long as the sun and moon covenant and that ends when the new heaven and new earth come. Jesus is forever a king not forever a prince therefore the servant David is not Jesus

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
When does the sceptre depart from judah?...when shiloh/david comes just as the lawgiver also departs but in all actuallality the sceptre and lawgiver is not departing Judah but being transferred from one Judah/Jesus to the other Judah/David and David keeps the scepter and lawgiver part for the 1000 year millennium and the season satan is loosed and then this verse will come into effect again

James Version of Genesis 5:2.
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called "THEIR" name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Eve was always in Adam and Adam was a type of "ISRAEL"(firstborn son)...so when you split an "ISRAEL" something amazing happens....a "JACOB" comes forth which gets the birthright blessing as the pattern of the 2nd to come forth getting the birthright blessing:

Another thing happens when an Israel and Jacob divide as we see with Adam and Eve and the nation Israel splitting into two nations/kingdoms(northern(jacob) and southern(israel). They end up exiled and going through a furnace of affliciton.
...moving on we see God blesses both Adam and Eve and it is a blessing that keeps moving until the end-times and this is the promise that will keep the last two who are going to inherit the promise going....God can send them through a furnace(and he will) but they still have the hope of this promise because the gift and callings of God are without repentance:

Those two individuals will know who they are because God can do nothing until he reveals his secret to the servants the prophets and who are the two prophets that are his servants....."the two witnesses"

The promise is to subdue the earth and have dominion. There are 2 postions of dominion over the earth. One is Kingship and the other is priesthood
We see the blessing passed down to a man named Jacob whose name is changed to Israel....again an Israel Jacob and we see the split again as he give his Israel(scepter) blessing to his firtsborn from mother leah(Judah) and he gives his Jacob blessing which is the birthright to his firstborn on his wife Racaels side which is Joseph and then it passes to 2nd born Ephraim.
So here it is summed up
Adam = Israel(scepter)
Eve is the split half of that Israel so she is Jacob(birthright)
The blessing moves to a man named Jacob/Israel and he divides it between his two firstborns from different mother Judah getting the(scepter blessing...kings will come from you ) and Joseph getting the "jacob"(birthright) blessing
We see the the scepter(civil leader) blessing and the (birthright blessing priesthood) moving through the bible through Moses(civil leader) and Aaron(high priest)(building the physical tabernacle in the wilderness...then Joshua(high priest) and Zerubbabel(civil leader) building physical temples....the two end-time witnesses will build the spiritual temple/tabernacle and one will be the moses(civil leader) and the other will be the Aaron(high priest)...and the Joshua(high priest) and Zerubbabel(civil leader)...This is why no one can tell who the two witnesses are because those two witnesses are shadowed in the volume of the book...one the priest and one the civil leader until the blessing that is promised in the beginning of the book "subdue the earth and have dominion" comes to fruitation with the two witnesses at the end of the book
Judah(Israel) and Joseph(Jacob)
Joseph is Jacob and will be able to see the other witness Judah but Judah won't be able to see Joseph just as it was in genesis. Judah will do all the plowing and Joseph/Jacob will just break it down into two postions instead of the one Judah will try to make it
Jacob the man of great natural resources.
A. His name means supplanter. Literally heel catcher. Or one who
overcomes by catching another mans heel.
Hosea 10:11:

...moving on we see God blesses both Adam and Eve and it is a blessing that keeps moving until the end-times and this is the promise that will keep the last two who are going to inherit the promise going....God can send them through a furnace(and he will) but they still have the hope of this promise because the gift and callings of God are without repentance:
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Those two individuals will know who they are because God can do nothing until he reveals his secret to the servants the prophets and who are the two prophets that are his servants....."the two witnesses"

The promise is to subdue the earth and have dominion. There are 2 postions of dominion over the earth. One is Kingship and the other is priesthood
We see the blessing passed down to a man named Jacob whose name is changed to Israel....again an Israel Jacob and we see the split again as he give his Israel(scepter) blessing to his firtsborn from mother leah(Judah) and he gives his Jacob blessing which is the birthright to his firstborn on his wife Racaels side which is Joseph and then it passes to 2nd born Ephraim.
So here it is summed up
Adam = Israel(scepter)
Eve is the split half of that Israel so she is Jacob(birthright)
The blessing moves to a man named Jacob/Israel and he divides it between his two firstborns from different mother Judah getting the(scepter blessing...kings will come from you ) and Joseph getting the "jacob"(birthright) blessing
We see the the scepter(civil leader) blessing and the (birthright blessing priesthood) moving through the bible through Moses(civil leader) and Aaron(high priest)(building the physical tabernacle in the wilderness...then Joshua(high priest) and Zerubbabel(civil leader) building physical temples....the two end-time witnesses will build the spiritual temple/tabernacle and one will be the moses(civil leader) and the other will be the Aaron(high priest)...and the Joshua(high priest) and Zerubbabel(civil leader)...This is why no one can tell who the two witnesses are because those two witnesses are shadowed in the volume of the book...one the priest and one the civil leader until the blessing that is promised in the beginning of the book "subdue the earth and have dominion" comes to fruitation with the two witnesses at the end of the book
Judah(Israel) and Joseph(Jacob)
Joseph is Jacob and will be able to see the other witness Judah but Judah won't be able to see Joseph just as it was in genesis. Judah will do all the plowing and Joseph/Jacob will just break it down into two postions instead of the one Judah will try to make it
Jacob the man of great natural resources.
A. His name means supplanter. Literally heel catcher. Or one who
overcomes by catching another mans heel.

The nation of Ephraim(northern kingdom is represented by the bullock and the unicorn)

messiah ben "JOSEPH" pushes the lost 10 tribes together and then the gathering of the people will be to "SHILOH" the sceptre holder(civil leader) or "messiah ben DAVID/Judah"

13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,
16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
