FREEDOM USA PARTY

This is a proposal for a new political party. It's obvious to those of us who have been a political watcher for some time that there is little difference between the two major parties here in the USA. Together they passed laws, created new departments, that have effectively suspended our Constitution.

Some might still believe, as I have for a long time, that the two major parties can be changed from within. Many have tried. It has not happened. These two parties have continually stolen our freedom and our money, and it has been going on since at least 1913. Many of us has told them, we want a change. But the party bosses never listen.

Today we are on a precipice just waiting for that final shove off the clift. And that might be sooner than you think. The Democrats and Republicans have been working together to steal our freedom and money through laws and taxation. And, if they are allowed to continue, they will ruin our economy, perhaps to a point of no return. That is why the elections of 2014 and 2016 are so important. We must remove those two major parties from power.

Yes, there are already alternative parties. And, you will find elements of those parties in this party.

1. Like the Constitution Party, we believe in the Constitution, and must return all the governments of this land to their Constitutional boundaries.

2. Like the Libertarian Party, we believe in liberty as established in the Constitution.

3. Like the Green Party, we believe the people have the right to clean air, pure water and food that is not harmful to the human body.

4. We are conservative in the sense that we believe people have the right to keep the proceeds of their labor. With the current tax code, much of those proceeds of labor has been stolen by the government who has spent so much it will take us well into future generations to pay it all.

5. We are liberal in the sense that we believe the people have the right to enjoy their own lives, and to pursue their own happiness even when we disagree with their choices. Our Constitution grants no power to any government within the USA to protect people from their own choices, but to protect the people from the choices of others.

6. We believe in States' Rights as established by the Tenth Amendment.

These are principles that have been handed down to their posterity by the founders of this great nation. Principles that the Democrat and Republican Parties have for long ignored and must be re-established before it's too late. And, if we do not do it now, we might never have another chance.

Please come and join the Freedom USA Party so we can put people in power that agrees with these principles.

You may wonder this. We already have, and have had, other political parties. We have the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party, the Green Party. We have had the Reform Party, the Natural Law Party. None of them have been successful to a major extent. So, I have been asked, what makes me think this Party will be any different. And, to be honest, I can't tell you if it will.

My goal for this Freedom USA Party, is to take the best of the other minor parties, and put it in one Party. I have thought for sometime if only all those minor parties could resolve their differences and merge in one party, that would be a formidable party to challenge the Republican/Democrat duopoly. But, there is practically no hope of that happening.

It is my intention to have a Party that members of the Constitution, Libertarian and other alternative parties, along with Independents, Non-Partisan registrants and grassroots Republicans and Democrats who have had it with their Party bosses, would be comfortable in. I realize that would be a major undertaking. But, a Party like I've described would be able to challenge the status quo, and make America what it should be, based on the Constitution and the needs of the people. We do not have a Party like that now, and that is the reason for a new party.

The purpose for the Freedom USA Party is for all of us who has had it with the direction the Republicans and Democrats are taking this Country to come together and save America from the destruction they are leading us too.

Will it happen? I don't know. But, I hope so.

No comments. Does that mean you all agree?

I certainly hope you don't take [no response over the internet] to mean that people agree with you.

Those third parties you've listed are at odds to an extent. The "Constitution" Party in particular stands out among the other two the same way a facehugger stands out on the unfortunate victim it's attached to.

Lets carry this analogy further.

The Constitution Party respects the Constitution the same way a facehugger respects its victim.

Well, I personally would like to see a third party, to break this trench warfare in Washington, so I don't care if it is the purple toad party.

I could go for some toad right now.

I know it's beating a dead horse at this point, but part of the trench warfare comes from the fact that people would rather stick with the devil they know.

Me, being the subpar human being that I am, am constantly joking about how I vote "not Republican" more than I vote Democratic. People don't want to take a risk for a third party when they are more afraid of the opposing party getting ahead period.

It's pragmatism more than anything else.

The way we do elections (i.e. first past the post) makes it essentially impossible for third parties to break into the political scene in any meaningful way (for reasons described above), and it's not really feasible to change it either. Just makes me more and more cynical about the whole thing, really.

Meh, now might be the time. Not a third party, just something not Republican would be nice. This whole refusing to run candidates in major elections thing, has kind of been like the Republicans saying they don't want to do national politics anymore. We should let some up and coming party replace them. Alternately, everyone could just become a democrat and we could elect people based on their credentials & policy positions. That might be better. If everyone was a democrat, then there would be some democrats who didn't want to create a post apocalyptic quasi-england slum & that'd be nice. Since the Republicans have pretty much quit, it is either time for another party to step up, or, everyone needs to jump on the democrat wagon.

Another party? Haw.

You have a political system that makes sure that only two parties can reign, and the only ones who could change this are the two parties that benefit from it. Fat chance.

Democrat? No way.

Why not? Take a play from their playbook, it seems to be winning. . . . if you expand the definition of something broadly enough, it doesn't mean what it used to mean. This is how revisionism works in everything from history textbooks to marriage. If you expand the definition of democrat to include people that don't hate selected parts of Constitution while supporting racism & corruption, then it could mean something entirely different than what Holder and Feinstein have represented. I'd venture to say that there are probably democrats now, who oppose Republicans more than they support the party of corruption. Look, I am talking myself into maybe becoming a democrat, imagine Rahm and I at dinner, discussing ethics. If everybody would get on board then, we could bring hope and change to the democrat party. . . . imagine, all the people . .. .

Why not no parties at all? Candidates run on issues alone. Take all money out of politics - true campaign reform.

I thought jumping to 100% right, right off the bat, would be met with snark and derision. But yeah, cap salaries while in office at $1 usd above the poverty level (so they have to keep their day jobs like the founders intended) and kill the whole party thing all together! YES! Yes!

I disagree. If we can register enough people, we can make a difference.

The Democrat Party is part of the problem.

The United States has always had parties. Although your suggestions have merit. But, as long as Republicans and Democrats are in power there will always be money in politics. That means there will always be corruption.

Register them as pure independents with NO affiliation. That also just might increase voter participation every two years. As it is now people are so put off by what passes for politics in this country we are lucky to get 50% REGISTERED voter participation in presidential elections.

Our Constitution grants no power to any government within the USA to protect people from their own choices, but to protect the people from the choices of others.

I agree to an extent. But in any society, there will be people unable to care for themselves. Sometimes resulting from their own bad choices, but sometimes just bad luck. A civilized, humane nation will provide at least a basic social safety net. I don't want to live in Dickensian London. Voluntary charity alone cannot do the job in a populous, diverse, urbanized, industrialized, and technology-dependent society. Some systematic enterprise, funded collectively, will be necessary. You can argue that this is not Constitutionally a responsibility of the federal government. But there is no Constitutional prohibition on the states providing this.
