Though Christ humbled Himself to cleanse the feet of His anointed, God doesn't cater to our every whim and desire like some kind of genie in a bottle. When one finds his or her self in a pit of despair, it may be helpful to ask himself if he's been running after some desire that is not of God. We have to have hearts that seek to run after God to receive the benefits of His strength. Only when we delight ourselves in the Lord can we expect to receive the desires of our hearts.

Sort of related... It was the first verse that came to mind about God sending the Holy Spirit.
