No, they aren't. However, what OCs are doing in this thread is equating such Messianic prophecies with the prediction of specific natural disasters and terrorist attacks. Now, either the latter are on par with the former, or there is a double-standard being leveraged. You tell me which it is.

Then just show one or two fulfilled prophecies of the nature of OT prophets.

I think it is much more accurate to state that the contribution in this area by LDS prophets has a 0% recognition and acceptance rate from you. There is no way for you, or any of the critics, to actually know what directions and visions they have had from God and what they did with those visions. I will agree that there are no big carnival show declarations of prophetic visions coming from the LDS prophets. That sort of sensationalism is for sign-seekers.

I have never asked for sensationalism, as you well know, but simply any example where your Prophet, Seer, and Revelator has foretold the future for the benefit of mankind. I would not ask for an example if your church did not make the claim that he does such things "on occasion".

What I feel that you are not connecting with is that making an announcement to the world is part of that sensationalism that you are supposedly not asking for. A revelation can be given to the Prophet that calls him and the people of the Church to action that benefits mankind. Plans to build more temples fall into that category. That revelation spreads the Gospel all around the world. That is a much more important work than having the Prophet warn about earthquakes and hurricanes. That sort of revelation, like many more, do not require the prophet to get up in front of everyone and tell them that God has given him a revelation to do it. He just does it. So I believe that really what you are asking for is sensational examples of prophecy.

Was Micah a sign seeker, or a carny when he predicted Messiah would be born in Bethlehem? Is Isaiah 53 just fortune-teller rants?

All the prophets of God testify of Jesus. The LDS prophets point to Him and His teachings. That is the purpose of a prophet.

That is the role of a teacher. Try again.

It seems to me that the only prophecies which count are the ones in which a person explicitly cites - down to the last minute detail - something which is going to happen.

Even in the Bible we have few examples of this happening.

Instead, most of the examples I can think of come in the form of "if you don't do this, then bad things will happen in the future" or "in due time, X will happen" rather than anything with exacting specifics.

Excuse me if I don't just accept that as the truth merely on the basis that you happen to claim it to be true. I tend to look to the scriptures for my understanding of spiritual concepts.

Luke 1: 68-71

68. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

69. And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

70. As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

71. That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

It sure looks as if the role of prophet has been to point to Jesus and the plan of salvation.

Hmmmmm. That is most interesting. We have an individual who is said to be able to foretell the future for the benefit of the world on occasion, but what he actually does is keep things to himself and maybe a few of his inner circle and when he does foretell things it is in the nature of announcing the construction of another building. If that is the case, then I am a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator because that is what I do for a living. Moreover, people pay me good money to do it.

And this is exactly why it is pointless to discuss it with you.

My bad for thinking I could.

Then please share with me these revelations that foretold of future wars for the benefit of mankind.

No problem. We can start with one easy chapter and there are more if you are interested.

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

And how does this section give time and date for any future wars like you've demanded of us?

This is an entertaining thread for sure!

It's kinda funny watching all the LDS give all kinds of excuses why their god doesn't speak through their prophets today. Its like the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. "Maybe your god is sleeping, perhaps you should be louder!" Haha. The god of mormonism is not more than a golden calf. He can't be expected to speak when his lips are cast from gold.

You previously stated that you were not interested in sensationalism, but then you offer an argument that is based on the number of people who are notified about the revelation. You just contradicted your previous statement.
