YOU WRETCHES !!

It's the Dormition Fast and you punish/torment/tease/taunt me with that !!

First eaten at a GREEK Festival on my visit to the US this summer and I want MORE

I'm sorry .... you have a different calendar, don't you?

I apologize. But to be fair ... you DID wander into a tavern, did you not? I'll make you some pasta and mail it to you after the fast, will that make up for it? Forgive me?

I know the feeling

I'm definitely drinking tonight - I've been accused of being an EC from Eastern Ukraine and a Putin Lover !!

I'm needing strong drink after that !

AND we had a wonderful Liturgy today - the insult has quite taken the shine off it for me :(

And I actually had something fairly on-topic to add. I discovered for the first time in my life, a wine that I actually enjoy. And not just tolerate, and maybe not make a face when I drink it.

It's a fairly weak wine, I am told. And ... I can't find it anywhere now. I bought it in Dallas at Central Market, but nobody else seems to carry it. LOL, oh well. Maybe there are similarities and I can find another one to try. It's Cornicelli Casa Rossa, made from a Brachetto grape.

I made sure to get the name, since I've never actually enjoyed a wine before. (Except something I was given when 17 years old that tasted like Kool-Aid and probably was, LOL.)

We had seasoned leg of lamb ke-babs, artisan bread, and the best cheese I've ever found too (a rosemary asiago) along with this wine on what was supposed to be my last evening there with my husband. Wonderful dinner! It probably wasn't the "right wine" but I enjoyed it. :)

I love wine - and actually prefer drinking red - even with fish , though there are times
when I'll drink white.

If you enjoy it - then it's the right wine for the dish !

I like Riesling depending on my mood.

My brother is the wine expert in our family. He questioned me about my likes/dislikes and suggested Riesling. I tried Barefoot, and found it - drinkable. (I still make faces if it gets a little warm in the glass.) That's what I've drunk then for the past 5 or 6 years. But I still didn't like it.

This I like. (It tastes like grape juice, LOL)

I'm a hopeless lightweight. :p

I gotta go with white. red wines are usually too sweet for me, but whatever floats your boat.

Maybe that's why that Riesling was too bitter for me.

There is a "too sweet" for me too though. Once I bought a bottle of something (too many years ago to remember) and it was like syrup in a bottle. It was absolutely disgusting. After the first glass each, it sat untouched and I eventually threw it out.

yeah, most red wines are just not a preference for me, although I have tasted some that were way, way, wwaaaaayyyyy too sweet. my mom's dad loves his sweet wine, and tried with no avail to culture his heathen grandson

LOL!

Actually I thought you had to be cultured in order to prefer the dry wines?

Either way I think I am simply hopeless. I do like sweet daquiris though. ;) (Further evidence of my hopeless condition)

I think with wine it depends on what you are serving. so whatever is supposed to go with a sweeter wine is lost on me.
