I think we understood it just fine. However, you may have intended to say something other than you did.

I want to thank you and squint both for making it so clear to everyone what I believe.

Rules check.

Well, you asked. ;)

And in my case at least, I commented on what you WROTE, not what you believe. I specifically did not take a position on close vs open communion or on excommunication, penance, or the rest of what you mentioned.

I suppose you guys don't think these things always existed.

And that we are free to do as we please.

God be gracious to me a sinner.

Believe it or not Mr. OrthodoxyUSA the churches (plural) are all comprised of imperfect sinners.

Why anyone thinks their persnickety constructs are able to make them perfect is the only strange part of any given sect.

Sects who have had nearly 2000 years of ceremonial elements and not arrived with one single perfect person yet to show for it might think to move on into reality and recognize other believers....i.e. get out of the condemnation boxes that y'all made for yourselves.

Patterns repeat for spiritual/anti-spiritual reasons. That is why they keep cropping up in religious systems, which are at the lead of the attack zone, therefore they are the FIRST to fall.

Weren't you asked to leave the thread?

Why haven't you listened?

I don't understand. What 'things'...and what does this have to do with whether Cassia's church practices open communion or close communion??

You've had your chance. I was being very polite.

And now, I don't want to talk to you anymore.

And that's all I'm willing to put up with.

You assume the worst and become hateful and bitter.

It is no wonder this place is spiritually dead. You can't even speak to each other without being rude.

I've had it.

God be gracious to me a sinner.

No believer is free to slander others here. Why do you listen to him when he casts you aside and out of the church???
He hasn't cast me or others aside. Debate on viewpoints doesn't exactly equate to casting off debating points.

You just need to stir the pot by not listening and continuing to dwell on negative points. that's why you got asked to leave the thread, maybe you could listen?

 I never suggested that you weren't sufficiently polite. I just said that your "take" on her church's policy appeared to be the same one as your church takes. There's no other judgment involved in that.

And now, I don't want to talk to you anymore.
Fair enough. I thought it was worth asking if you would please clarify what you meant by this comment ("I suppose you guys don't think these things always existed") since I can't figure what it refers to. But you have no obligation to oblige, I agree.

You apparently missed that part. I'd suggest it was by choice on your part, as usual.
Squint I have seen you reject Protestants posts merely for not adhering to your prefered way... so let's not leave the exclusiveness laying with one camp ... some have enemies within

No, the thread is about why his sect is supposedly the only real church if you've read it from the start.

You miss the point of the thread...which is not surprising given your track record.

Can you let the thread get back on track and listen to the OP author and leave it. Or does the thread need to be closed?

Don't equate salvation with membership in The Church.

You were taught that by Rome and it is false..

Unfortunately, there appear to be several different discussions going on here on this thread at present, but the above is certainly a valuable and correct statement!
