I usually get up around 7 AM, but I feel like I'm wasting too much of my productiveness. Humans are more productive in the morning anyway, or so I believe.

Does anyone here get up really early in the morning like a farmer?

Back when I was depressed, I wouldn't even try to get out of bed.

At the moment I go to bed around 12pm and get up just after 7am. I would love to get into a routine of going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. Much like the birds do. I also like the fresh cool air of the morning. But getting to bed early seems to be my biggest mission.

this Human can't function at 5am :p

Truth. :p

Although, I hear that there are certain humans that are considered "morning people". Apparently they function well at that crazy hour, and if you're one of them then go for it. Especially in the summer when the sun rises earlier. I wish I could do that. The nice air, and birds. Yes, it'd be nice. So you enjoy it for me, alright? :D

As for me, I struggle with 7am :D

why do you wanna sleep in so late like 5am?

Yes, I get up most days at about 2-3am. Thats why when its weekend, I sleep til at least 10. :D Im a night owl, thanks to work. I don't get to enjoy my baser instinct hours.

Im NOT a morning person. I usually go to bed with enough time to get anywhere from 3-5 hours of sleep. Head to work, chug a monster or two and work.

I do agree that humans are more productive in the morning. Maybe not quite 5am though :ahah: I think getting up around 6am is alright, maybe 6:30.
I used to get up around 2:45-3am for my old job. It was rough, I could never get enough sleep. I pretty much was a zombie the entire shift :D I don't think I would ever want to do that again. I'd rather work 2nd shift than work early mornings. I do miss one thing though... It was very peaceful walking to work and looking up at the night sky. I barely ever go for walks at night anymore.

I've never been a morning person, but my sleep schedule is so whack now that I want to transition into an early riser when I'm longer stuck at this confounded job. I basically sleep from 4am to 12pm.

So hopefully I get a full month between being laid off and the fall semester starting so I can work my way up to an early to bed, early to rise cycle.

When I was in high school, my friends and I would go watch the sun come up in the summer sometimes, it was really awesome and kind of a spiritual experience in a way.

I got up at 6AM throughout my school life, then when I first got employed I got up at 5:30AM.

My current job has me getting up at 11AM (I work evening/night).

I think it's worth noting that my school and early employment life was horrible, I had issues falling asleep while I was in class, drove, or worked (even though I went to bed at 9PM and slept through the night), and my anxiety was incredibly bad.

Now, I still have anxiety attacks, but they are more rare and I don't remember the last time I've fallen asleep doing something, or even had false awakenings and sleep paralysis during my regular sleep.

The mornings are not healthy for me :p

I get up between 5 and 6 every morning so I know that I will get my devotions done. I had to put my Bible on top of my alarm clock so I had to lift it off to turn off the alarm, and place both where I had to get out of bed to turn it off. Now I have a hard time sleeping past 8.

I'm the most productive from 10PM-5AM. I live for those hours, when it's so quiet that I can hear the traffic outside like white noise and my mind functions the best.

Unfortunately the rest of the family sleeps during this time so I can't do chores like laundry and stuff. No fair.

I had a job 2 years ago where I had to get to work 6:00am or 6:30am so I had to get up about 4:30am to get there.

Didn't enjoy it very much lol.
But historically speaking human beings would have slept soon after sunset, and would have woken before or at sunrise.. if you think about it it's only in the last 200 years or so that most of the population postponed this biological habit with the advent of artificial lighting.

I get up at 5 every morning and I was no morning person and would always sleep in later, getting up at 7 seems late but I feel great getting up at 5 now. Read the bible and start the day off good.

Ideally, I would like to rise with the sun. I think we should make the most of our daylight hours. And it seems to me that before electricity and light bulbs became common, most people probably didn't stay up half the night like a lot of us do now :p

I've tried reading by the light of an oil lamp. It ain't easy.
