...we all have strange quirks and pet peeves that don't really make any sense to anyone but ourselves. They can be weird, funny, and bizarre. What are some of yours?

I'll go first!

I have this "thing" about seeing people's innards through their skin. What I mean by that, is being able to see things like bones, tendons, or veins through the skin. I like skin that is smooth. I like body parts that are smooth. It's especially common in women to see "innards" because we tend to have thinner, more delicate skin. And it bothers me! I don't like it! I don't want to see any part of your skeleton or your internal body parts!

Example! Here are two similarly-aged, blond, fair-skinned, Hollywood personas to compare.

Kate Winslet - thumbs up! Smooth skin. Smooth neck. Everything is nice and smooth. All I see is skin and that's all I wanna see.

Heidi Klum! Thumbs down! Her skin looks vacuum-suctioned onto her neck, her bones and arteries could be traced with a pencil they're so prominent. BOTHERSOME.

Who's next? :)

NOTE* This is a light hearted thread. No debating, arguing, fighting, or negative comments, please. Just have fun.

I can't yet post pictures but I have a quirk as well. I get queasy when I see an unkempt beard that grows not only on the face but the NECK. Ick! It generally grosses me out and I wish it didn't. I really dislike that quirk of mine. Now, a nice cleanly trimmed and shaped short beard can be very attractive as long as it doesn't grow on the neck. :p

My quirk is similar to the first posted. I don't mind seeing bones and things on other people. However, seeing veins (in the hands, arms, and especially the neck) on other people freaks me out! BUT... I'm fine looking at my (in my hands, arms).

Note: Just writing this actually made me light-headed. Yeah... that's a problem.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

Electric - I get the willies from neck stubble, too. It's like something's trying to invade and take over their face/neck... eeek!

Drumfan - same here! Especially the bulging veins you sometimes see on guys' arms... or like, elderly people with see-through skin, and all their veins and tendons are sticking out... *shuddering*

Inkachu -- This won't be easy to write, but I find it digusting, on older people, when it appears that you can actually "pinch" the veins in the arms/hands. *gags*

I agree! Now you watch, you and I will both wind up just like that in 50 years lol.

I don't dislike elderly people at all, I don't want anyone to misunderstand me lol. I love them!

^ This. I have absolutely nothing against the elderly. I just don't like looking at their hands. :)

I actually ripped the skin of a woman's hand once, when I was a kid. She was a family friend, and she was in a wheelchair, and trying to get out of her car. I was the only "strong" one around, I guess, so they asked me to help her out. I knew nothing about fragile skin, so I just grabbed her hand and heaved her out. She gasped and cried out, and I didn't know why. Then we realized the skin on the back of her hand had literally just torn apart, just from the pressure of me pulling on her. I was horrified and felt SO bad! Obviously, I wish one of the adults around had told me to be gentle, I was just a kid, what did I know? Anyway... that scarred me for life lol. Thin skin makes me nervous.

Maybe for the safety of those over a certain age, you should keep your distance. :)
