It's amazing how the Syrian regime still does those chemical attacks without chemical weapons, right? You've got to be impressed by their ingenuity.

Here's something he didn't do, although he promised he'd do it: Close down Guantanamo Bay. There are still loads of people kept there with no trial, and most likely Guantanamo Bay will only close down when their last inmate has died (assuming that no new prisoners are thrown in)

There are chemicals that are not classified as chemical weapons which can still be used as weapons - chlorine, for instance. Chlorine is considered an industrial chemical, but was used in chemical attacks in Syria.

The Republican passed laws forbidding moving the prisoners to regular federal prisons. Once the war in Afghanistan is officially over, the US can no longer hold "enemy combatants".

I am aware of that. Which is why making the syrians give up their other chemical weapons is just meaningless.

I don't think it is meaningless that they no longer have access to sarin, ricin, etc. Fewer weapons is better than more weapons.

The president can not change the laws, only the legislature can. The enemy combatants will have to be released when the Afghani war is officially over.

Has there been a noticeble drop in assads chemical weapon attacks? As far as I know, not really, he's just using chlorine, now, but he has plenty of that. Maybe it's a bit less effective, but I wouldn't count it as a victory if people are 'only' blinded for life.

And I agree. If your president can't even fullfill his one promise of closing guantanamo bay, after serving 2 terms, what good is he?

Here's what I don't get. If he gets fired, isn't Biden president? Who would want Biden for a president. I may actually take president Obama over him. Or would president Obama getting fired mean Biden is out of office too?

Nope -- If Obama is ousted for any reason -- death, impeachment, resignation, etc... Then Biden becomes President for the remainder of Obama's term.

Anything else is wishful thinking -- you should've heard some of the Birther drivel going around about the entire election being invalidated if it turned out Obama wasn't a "Natural Born" Citizen, and handing the country over to McCain...

Anywho, Biden becomes President. If Biden subsequently is ousted from office before the next election, then as next in line, Speaker of the House Boehner gets the job.

Now, tell the truth, Conservatives, and none of that "at least he's better than Obama" dreck -- how many of you would want President Boehner, and if so, why?

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but Obama's presidency isn't "over" until January of 2017.... and even then, don't think you'll have heard the last of him.

How's this for a scenario?

• Hillary is elected in 2016; half the Right's heads collectively explode.
• A year or two into her term, a Supreme Court Justice dies/retires --
  • Ginsberg is currently the oldest, making her the most likely candidate, but Scalia, Kennedy, and Breyer are no Spring Chickens either, so who knows?
• President Clinton taps a certain Constitutional Lawyer who happens to be looking for a new job...
• The other half of the Right's heads collectively explode; Rush Limbaugh commits Hara-Kiri on the air in protest.

(Ok, maybe there's a little bit of wishful thinking in here, but who knows? )

The obama lovefest continues for some zealous few. I wonder how they will handle it once he's officially out of office?
